  1. About 15 minutes after I posted my message above, the seller of the Trident sent a message to me asking if I was going to take the bike home after paying for it. I guess he changed his mind without any prompting from me. I now have the bike, bill of sale, signed copy of the bank transfer, etc. I will get the green book from the bank sometime this week. JGA
  2. On a related topic, is it required that one must wait for the transfer to be completed at the DLT before the previous owner actually gives the bike to the new owner? I’ve sold three motorcycles over the years here and I never waited for the transfer to be completed before giving them the property that they already paid for. I am in he process of buying a secondhand Triumph Trident from a Thai owner. He’s being a bit paranoid about handing the bike over to me even after I pay and he gives the green book to me. He wants to keep the bike (which is currently uninsured) until the transfer has been officially completed. Is this normal and does he have reason to worry about me taking possession of a bike that is still technically in his name until the transfer is complete? We are going to use a local bike shop to do the transfer because otherwise both of us and the bike have to go to the Chatuchak DLT, which I would be a big hassle. The green book is being held by a major bank (due to a loan). I have to pay him first, so that he can pay off the bank and get the green book. I don’t have a problem with that, but as far as I’m concerned, as soon as that process is complete, the bike is mine. Is my stance contrary to Thai law? JGA
  3. Both AQ or SHA+ certified hotels can be used for the one night requirement of "Test and Go". However, if you choose an SHA+ hotel, you will have to arrange for a PCR test and transportation on your own, which could complicate your approval process. SHA+ is mainly used for the sandbox schemes and AQ is mainly used for Test&Go and 10-day quarantine. AQ hotels must be associated with a nearby hospital, which is why a PCR test is included in their packages. JGA
  4. The QR code generated by CLEAR is time limited. If you try to scan it after a certain amount of time, it will say that it's expired. You then have to restart the CLEAR app and generate a new code. JGA
  5. I got around this error by using Chrome in incognito mode. JGA
  6. When I applied yesterday, the file size limit had been increased to 5Mb. This is for each document, not collectively. JGA
  7. I have a SMART Health Card QR code that was issued by one of the large pharmacy chains in America. Unfortunately, the QR code needs a proprietary scanner to decode the information. The scanner app is called "Verifier" and is available on the Google Play Store. However, Thailand doesn't use the SMART system, so they aren't going to have a clue how to properly scan the code to display the vaccine information. I will include this QR code on my ThailandPass application later today because I don't think anybody in Thailand is actually going to scan the code and examine the results. JGA
  8. I already booked my airline ticket and purchased the required insurance. However, I'm tired of waiting for a reply from the quarantine hotels (contacted through the ASQ web site). Should I keep waiting or just book a quarantine package on Agoda? Will an Agoda receipt be accepted by Thailand Pass? JGA
  9. Has anybody from the USA been either rejected or approved on the new system using a CDC vaccination card which contains no QR code or passport number? JGA
  10. I’ve been living in Thailand for 20 years, but have been back in the US since May. I already have an extension of stay and a re-entry permit valid until next spring. I would like to return to Thailand next month on the Thailand Pass system, but I have no idea what the procedures are going to be. Should I assume that I will need a booked ticket before starting the process? I never did the COE procedure, so I don’t know if a ticket was required to start that process also. JGA
