  1. The previous article and the above update make is crystal clear that the condo will not be demolished as long as the developer 'invests' in overcoming their legal obstacles.
  2. "Oh no! Who can save us from this terrible political instability we in no shape or form created? "... the military generals ask.
  3. Many outsiders have a very positive opinion of Thai people in general. Then it just takes one encounter with some form of government official to irreparably damage that.
  4. It's news because people should know that one is as bad as the other, and quite possibly in cahoots. The more spotlights shined on this, the better.
  5. Screenshot this one for later, so we can all have a good laugh at the furious backpeddling and downward revisions.
  6. Who still hails cabs in the street as opposed to using Grab or a similar service? Fixed cost and a driver knows where they are going vs. whatever lady luck throws at you.
  7. The drugs listed are all produced in the 'golden triangle', and then transported through and exported from Thailand. Just saying.
  8. Srisuwan is doing good things for Chadchart's already sky high popularity. ????
  9. That stretch of road is relatively safe, being without the sharp curves of the Thong Pa Phum - Sangklaburi part. I am not suggesting the driver was at fault, but the driver was probably at fault. RIP to the victims, who no doubt came to Thailand to provide a better life for their families' back home.
  10. Thais use smiles to convey a wide range of emotions for which many Westerners would consider strange. If I was to generalise, I would say they are not fake, but rather outward coping mechanism for awkward or unpleasant situations. Other Thais would know exactly the true meaning. Then Thais also smile for exactly the same reasons we do (some of which might also be considered 'fake' e.g. sarcastic smile), but many of which are genuine smiles of joy, happiness, and pleasure. As with any foreign culture, if you plan on spending any length of time among it, it is best to learn the nuances so that you can function more effectively within it.
  11. If adding a label helps to reduce the current media noise around cannabis, then fine. It's similar to alcoholic beverages listing a percentage, and makes sense for mass market products especially. I can just see some dodgy corporation promising to make me baked as a cake with their product, only to find all I got was a tingle in my little. #disappointment Beach and tourist spots are bound to be selling unlabeled supplies from the back room if that's your thing. That's just the way Thailand is.
  12. They are all over the country now, although in smaller towns you might only find local brewers represented (which isn't a bad thing). West of Nong Khai in Lowe, you'll find two of the OG Thailand brewers, Outlaw and Joe+
  13. This is outrageous. When I came to Thailand many years ago, they were only 5 baht a packet. When they went up to 6 the impact on my Budgeting was nearly enough to force me back home. Another 2 baht increase will make me destitute! Just euthanise me now!
  14. Was quite the mud bath according to Spartan Sean. The super course had over 600m of ascent, not to mention the 20 obstacles.
  15. Whether or not it was in protected land would have been obvious from the very beginning. Lines on a map tend to rather east to see. The fact this unsurprisingly reversal of the original judgement took so long suggests strongly that something dodgy took place. I mean, judges deciding whether judges' exclusive hillside compound is legal or not was only ever going to go one way.
  16. I think you're right. People probably only take off their masks when others can't see them, i.e. are not near them. Which kind of makes sense.
