  1. Is the vaccine being offered the new Bivalent Vaccine, or simply the exising Pfizer that has already been available for the last 18 months? I'm looking for the new one! Thanks.....
  2. Who is the other service that you were able to get cable from? Just now their truck came along and cut their connection box from the pole near my house. Seems like a long term action rather than planning to run more cables. I'm perplexed. What is one supposed to do without any TV channels here?
  3. I found an excellent salon to have my hair cut at today. Inside Caesar Hotel on Second Road, near Soi 8. The ladys name is Rung. Haircut is 100. No need to call for appointment, she's open most weekdays. But you can make an appointment if you want. 081-004-2192
  4. I'd like to get the latest Covid vaccine, the Bivalent that came out a few months ago. Anyone know when it might be available in Pattaya? Thanks!
  5. You don't mention your country of origin in your post. But for most UK and for USA passports you can see Key Visa right in front of Big C on South Pattaya Road. My friends have used them before. Cost was about $12,000 and they did it all correctly and got fast service. Google search for their phone number.
  6. By and large, FASCINO has the best overall prices for meds. They stock generics and name brands. Several locations around Pattaya including South Pattaya Road, Central Road, and North Pattaya Road. They are also on the Darkside.
  7. I'm looking for a good place in Central Pattaya to get my hair cut. I'm in my 60's so I'm not looking for a hot trendy stylist. Just needing a basic hair cut. If anyone can suggest a good reliable place, I'd appreciate that. Thanks
  8. I didn't have any signal today so I called Sophon Cable. They told me that the government cut all channels and there's no idea when it will be restored. Same for their internet. Anyone know anything about this?
  9. I've been to all three. Best is Bkk Hospital, but it's the most expensive. Had an accident and ended up at Memorial, they were responsive and more than adequate. Pattaya International is good, but it's a small place really. Skilled doctors and reasonable prices and better than Pattaya Memorial treatment.
  10. R-Con@ Siam. Located near the north end of Soi BuKhao. 8,000 baht a month plus electric. 038-429-124. Just north of the Soi BuKhao night mkt.
  11. My PC shop referred me to her friend with a shop that repairs iPhones. Very honest, reasonable repair costs. 082-204-0304. Her name is Oh. Speaks good English. Located in a shop just behind TukCom. Easy to find. LINE ID: oh1088
  12. My friends visited for 2 months and stayed at the north end of Soi Bukhao, at R-Con @ Siam. 038-429-124. Moderate sized room, 8,000 baht a month plus electric. Free Cable and Wifi.
  13. I go to the beauty shop inside the Caesar Hotel on Second Road, opposite Soi 7. Mens haircuts using hand clippers are 150 baht. Good english spoken by Rung, the owner. 081-004-2192
  14. Key Visa does US passport renewals. I think it's 13,000 baht. They are located right across from Big C on South Pattaya Road. I've had friends that have used them. They are reliable!

    Artichokes

I've never seen artichokes for sale here. However, I did buy a large can of artichoke hearts at Siamburi's a year ago. Perhaps they still stock those. 063 183 8707 They are a small store that features British products but carries a wide variety of items, including good prices on many types of cheeses. Call them and ask. They are located on the darkside, at the end of Khao Talo. Google them.
  16. I recently used Run Phone Service for my iPhone repair. They were referred to me by my trusted computer shop owner of 14 years. Fair prices, good English, located just behind TukCom. LINE ID is: oh1088. Khun Oh speaks great English. Phone 082-204-0304
  17. Be careful around Russians and don't talk politics. They can be volatile and easily upset. That said, most I've spoken to are now living outside of Russian and disagree with the Ukraine and Crimea invasions. ALSO, the other day I was leaving Big C on Pattaya Klang and two Thai girls were walking into the store. One of them had a HUGE swastika on the front of her shirt. Thais are pretty much ignorant of world history. Their focus is on their pride about Thailand itself. Well, I simply pointed to her swastika shirt and said loudly, "Mai Dee"! I don't expect I changed anything, but perhaps she may have asked another Thai person why some farang would would point to her shirt and say mai dee. I'm Jewish and find the symbol offensive. Yes, it's a Hindu symbol of some sort. But Thailand and she are Buddhists, not Hindu's. TIT.
  18. Double Kiss in Pattaya on Third Road, at the corner of Soi 21. Many pool tables, but has 3-4 quality snooker tables. Reasonable rates, good crowd of friendly people. Large facility.
  19. Try this guy. Comes highly recommended.ded....
  20. I like to give my home water tank a shock using the large rock sized pieces of what I assume is chlorine, to remove any growth of algae, etc., on the inside of the underground tank. I used to buy it at the soi bukhao market, in small bags for about 20 baht. Those are no longer available. Does anyone know who would sell this type of product, but in small quantities, say less than a kg?
  21. When will the street signs indicating the name of Sois be re-installed? Road construction is mostly finished along South Pattaya Road, and sidewalks are being laid, so all in all, this great 2 1/2 year boondoggle project is nearing completion. But there are no posts at each corner indicating which Soi you are at. You know, THE NAME OF THE SOI. It must be hard for delivery drivers, but it's just insane not to have any sort of indication of the name or designation of the Soi that your home is on. I would sure like to see that done soon. Does anyone know what city department might be contacted to remind them that we want our street signs back?
  22. This coming week will be 2 months that I've had my 2 cuties. They fly around the (big) room, love to listen to music AND a Youtube of other lovebirds chirping. And they let me come very close to them while then sit on the shelves above my desk. But they still won't let me touch or hold them, and certainly they are not ready to perch on my finger. But I'm a patient guy and appreciate the progress made so far. Both of them have independently got stuck in very small places and I had to rescue them. (In between the wall space behind the fridge, another narrow space next to the kitchen cabinets. I had to cut thru the wall, and remove some paneling for the other rescue). Both birds are OK but I sort of expected gratitude and trust from each of them. Clearly they don't think like humans! What a surprise, right? Hahahah.... They are cute and I'm getting very attached to them!!! Thanks for every ones feedback.
  23. Discovered that they LOVE popcorn. No oil or salt, just right out of the microwave. Slow progress, and now each of them has been out of the cage and flown around the house a bit. They are so loveable!
  24. The last few weeks in Pattaya has seemed unusually hot. Couple it with the humidity and the heat index takes us up to about 39 or 40C daily. Inside my house it's usually about 28 which I can handle. But the last few days it's gotten up to almost 36. I use room fans downstairs in my townhouse. At night have to sleep with the AC set at 25C. Whenever anyone from my home country, USA. asks me about the weather here the answer is always the same. Hot and humid.
  25. Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'll remove the sunflower seeds from their mix and put some into my hand which I'll put inside the cage. Hopefully they'll come for those treats. They do love those in the shell (unsalted of course), plus an occasional peanut. They love beans too, and watermelon rind. I hope they come around soon. I've had them about a month and would like to let them fly around my house too!
