  1. You should contact the Phuket Expat Golf Society. I think their members get discounted rates.

    http://www.expatgolf.com/

I am already a member of PEGS, up until recently have found it difficult to justify paying even the discounted rates, hopefully now I will be able to take part once a month in the tournaments.

  2. I think I am right in saying that team Europe were all over the 18th green while 2 players were waiting to hit there 2nd and final shots into that green!! everyone does it, it does not mean it was done on purpose, the excitement took over and any thought for others momentarily disappeared!!

The competition was over at that point.

As opposed to Brookline where the result was still in the balance.

Can not see how that makes a difference, it's about showing respect to the players who have not yet finished there round!!

The 2 players waiting wanted to beat each other so no the competition was not over for them!!

  3. Shooting range fun if you don't mind paying 1000 bht for 10 rounds, don't use Tuk Tuks to get there!!

    And that would be

"paying 1000 bht for 10 rounds"

Rounds as in bullets not 10 rounds of drinks lol. It's a great thing to do as a one off!!

  5. On saturday afternoon when the USA went up 10-4,, with all the dancing and yelling on the 18th green, Bubba Watson and Webb Simpson decided to hold a prayer meeting with their wifes and caddys in the middle of the green with more matches coming in !!!! This was the final straw for me and I will never cheer for Bubba again. Sundays single matches were the best Ryder Cup golf ,, ever,, absolute magic.

I don't think you can blame the players, in the height of excitement all thought of others can disappear momentarily, I am sure all golfers caught up in this type of excitement have done the same thing at some point, the Ryder cup is like no other with fans driving the excitement to high levels where it makes the participants do things they would not normally consider doing!! Both teams played great golf, the pressure got to the USA team more than it did for team Europe, awesome Ryder cup throughout but the last day singles were something else!!

As for fans shouting out most of it is down to alcohol some down to just being an ignorant dick head, they only shout out after the ball has been hit so there is no outright desire to put off the player! Still not right but that is life!

  6. I wouldn't actually bother watching it. The Americans have been playing fantastic golf but the "fans", who clearly don't know jack shit about tournament etiquette, will take the shine off a victory if they win it. It's embarrassing.

I'd be mortified at the lack of action from the stewards, and who on earth heckles a good shot from the opposition, or even barracks them while they are looking at a putt?

They're as bad as the mindless plebs we have following the England football team, the ones who still think "England" has more than two syllables.

It should be a classic golf competition between 24 superb players. Instead of which it's like Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

In a perfect world but we don't live in a perfect world!!

  7. I have sold to Thai and Farang alike, never had a problem, if you are honest describe the item correctly and ask a decent price all will be good, with the things I have sold I made it perfectly clear that the money must be in my account before they can take the item, in over words they come to see, they like and want to buy, a price is agreed, we go to my bank, the money is paid in, I check it is there, the bike or car etc is there's, cash is the only thing that is acceptable.

I am now selling my CBR250R as money is needed for other things, again I don't expect any problems, although you do get some strange replies from people who I guess are bored and try to be funny!!

  8. After being in Thailand for 3 1/2 yrs I took the plunge and played Phuket country park lakes course( 9 hole, par 72 for 18 holes, a great course in pristine condition, a very tight course which as the name suggests water every where, ended up losing 8 balls, apart from 2 balls bad course management cost me the other 6 balls, not a great score(96, handicap 12, but it included 3 birdies and 3 pars, shot of the day was my drive on the dog leg left 300 yd par 4 4th hole, I drew the ball onto the green 8ft from the pin, missed the eagle putt but made the birdie, my best drive in over 40 yrs of playing golf! Green fee for 18 holes was 2200 bht. Hopefully I will be able to afford to play these awesome courses on Phuket once a month depending on my finances!!
