I'm going to Bang Sue for my second shot on the 17th (next Sunday). From what I've been told you need to tell them you want that certificate before you leave and they can provide it to foreigners, otherwise you need to get it later in a more complicated process.
Have you received an SMS from them about your appointment on the 17th? On the piece of paper I was given after my first jab at Bang Sue, it also said that my next one is due on the 17th, but I have not been contacted yet. You..?

Magdalen, just a question on the message received .... was it a 0909800xxx number. ?
I just ask because I deleted a message that required a download.
It was an email, not text

Hi, I received an email fro 'MFA Foreignvac' in response to my registration on the online platform 'vaccination registration for foreign residents' giving me a
time and place for the inoculation.
However, the email says that final confirmation will be given by sms, and that you should present this sms on-site. To date, I have not received the
required sms - has anyone else been in the same situation?

In my experience over quite a few years with Bangkok Bank, amounts below Baht 1.5 million are not queried at all. Above this, however, I always
get a rather menacing phone call from the Head Office, requesting my answer a load of questions about the provenance of the funds before
they release them. For Eur 20-30,000 you should be fine, at least with the above bank

If you can afford it, Prom Phong/Thonglor is by far away the best area. Ekamai is nice too but a little farther out and with less shopping options

I have paid several cheques from US banks into my Bangkok Bank account without problem. Make sure however that the name on the cheque is identical to the account name, or
you will have a problem. You will get the money credited to your account in 3-4 weeks

Another shout out for Punjab Grill. A little expensive and over-formal possibly, but excellent quality

Isn't his WP will be invalidated and his ability to Work legally will end after converting to a retirmenent extension?
17 hours ago, MarleyMarl said:I'm in the same boat, I have a 1 year non-b visa and a WP, my entry stamp says I was suppose to leave June 14th, but now I am in limbo.
What I do is every 90 days I just leave the country on either business or leisure so i don't bother doing the 1 year extension thing, I've been doing this for a while as I can't stand being dicked around at Chaeng Wattana.
Guess we'll see what happens in July, when 31st comes around, are we suppose to leave and not come back? Or come back and be forced into a hotel for 2 weeks...
Thanks all and especially Ubonjoe. Unless there is some new announcement over the next few days, I will indeed apply for the one year extension of stay, as it seems the only way to go

How did you get a non-b visa? Those are only for working, teaching and etc.
You can stay until July 31st without doing anything at immigration.
You can not apply for a visa at immigration unless you are on a tourist visa or visa exempt entry.
You could try to apply for a one year extension of stay at immigration if you have 800k baht in a Thai bank for 2 months or proof of 65k baht income.
Yes I got the non-b on the basis of working in Thailand. Many thanks for your suggestion. From advice given elsewhere as well, it seems the only concrete alternative apart from
simply hoping for another amnesty or that the skies will completely open up again (neither of which seems likely in the near future).
Thanks again

Hi, I have a Non-Imm B Visa, issued 18/3/20 and valid until 17/3/21. I entered Thailand on 19/3 and was stamped 'admitted until 16/6'.
Like thousands of others, I am rather unsure of what I should do. I understand that there is a general amnesty until the 31/7, but is there
anything else I can, or should do, before then?
Should I go to Immigration?
And what about the concept of simply applying for a new Visa based on retirement (I am over 50)? Most of all I am concerned about the
possibility of being obliged to somehow return to the UK in August, with no seemingly easy way to come back to Thailand again in the near
future.
All advice and assistance would be most welcome !

Hi, I am looking for a recommendation for a glaucoma doctor in Bangkok. I have a decent one already but she is incredibly
busy and fully booked until August. Thanks in advance

Hi everyone, I am attempting to register my condo as a landlord. However whilst trying to fill in the form, I have encountered two problems which
I cannot seem to bypass, as follows:
1. Most importantly, the 'Register at' box as shown neither lets me type anything in it, nor has a drop down menu inside it
2. The drop down menu for 'District/Area shows only around 8 districts, not including mine. I have chosen a nearby one, which the system seems
to accept, but I can't help but feel that there will be problems at a later stage
The main issue is however 1. above as it is impossible to complete the form without it. If I click on the 'submit' button whilst leaving it blank. I always
get a message in Thai 'do you want to save the information'?
All assistance much appreciated :-)

This is a book about Police and corruption in Myanmar, but numerous analogies with Thailand, and beautifully written:

Yes I do, but not of the entry stamp when I entered Thailand last, earlier this month

Hi everyone, advice appreciated please. I have lost my UK passport in Bangkok. I will retrace my steps tomorrow but realise
that the chances of recovering it are small.
1. I understand that I can apply for a replacement one via the UK Government website and that one will be sent to me in
due course, is this correct?
2. However, my main consideration is regarding my Visa situation. The passport contained a Multiple Entry Business Visa which
only had a couple of weeks more left before its expiry date. However, I was given a 90 days stay when I last entered Thailand
on around the 6th February. I do have a copy of the Visa but NOT of the stamp showing the permission to stay until 6th May or so.
If I obtain a replacement UK passport in, for example, 4-6 weeks, and then leave the country in order to get a new Business Visa
overseas, what will Thai Immigration say, as there will be neither a visa nor any stamps in the brand new UK passport I will have
just received?
Any advice or recommendations will be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance

Sorry guys, can I just clarify one point? I understand she will need to have B500,000 in her bank for 30 days. Is this 30 days prior to her arriving at
Chaeng Wattana for her extension of stay? Or she is obliged to show Immigration her bank book with that B500,000 in her account and keep it
in her account for 30 days after her meeting at Chaeng Wattana?

Many thanks again to you both for your excellent advice

Many thanks for both replies.
My own status is that I have a one year Non Imm B visa. Presumably that is not sufficient for my wife to apply as a dependent?
I could however possibly get a work permit. Would that make a difference?
Thanks again

Can I ask the Forum's help with a Visa question for my wife? She has just been given a Visa as per attachment to stay in
Thailand, as our daughter is to go to school here.
Despite requesting a One Year Visa, she - and my daughter - were only given 3 months each. She was told that if she goes to the Immigration
Dept in Bangkok, they can extend this up to one year for them both.
My questions are:
1. I have read that a Guardian Visa requires a deposit of B500,000 or similar. Will this have to be shown when she goes to Chaeng Wattana to
extend her Visa? When she applied at the Thai Consulate in Yangon she had to show a similar sum in her account there, but the Consulate
were unable to tell her if this is sufficient for the Thailand side as well, or if indeed she has to show the B500,000 (or whatever amount it is)?
2. At what time should she/they go to Chaeng Wattana to apply for an extension up to one year? Upon arrival in Thailand? Or towards the
expiry of the current Visa in June?
3. Since the number of entries is Single and not Multiple, I understand they will have to arrange a Re-Entry Permit. Should this be done shortly
after arrival, at Chaeng Wattana, or at Suvarnabhumi/Don Muang when they want to leave Thailand for a short trip after say one month?
Hope that the above makes sense and thank you in advance for your assistance!

Nabi Jr. tablet is excellent, I bought mine on Ebay and it was efficiently shipped from the US to Bangkok. My 3 year old absolutely loves it

Does anyone possibly know a phone engineer or technician would could arrange for me to run the wiring for a phone extension (in another room
than my existing phone line) in my condo?
The technician in my building told me to contact TOT, and TOT told me to contact my building's technician :-(
It's not a difficult job I would guess and one for which I would pay a reasonable sum, so all leads much appreciated

I'm pressuming this is becasue of the graphics chip failure that Apple refuses to acknowledge, partly becasue they only count failures that occur to product in the US and the rest of the world is just a milch cow for Apple's burgeoning profit.
I had mine replaced at Macintosh Centre at Fortune Plaza 02-642 0400 / [email protected]. Cost for a swap out 17-inch logic board was Bt19,200. I passed on their Bt1,500 examination fee despite their protests that "it might be something else" as I was pretty confident I knew what the problem was.
It took them less than a week to get the new board from Singapore and fit it. I had them remove the HDD when I left the PowerBook with them.
3months guarantee on the new board.
This is precisely what I am looking for - many thanks

Hi, am trying to complete the online TM 30 form to show residence at a new address. Near the bottom of the form there is a box 'Register at the agency'. To what does this refer? I am in Bangkok if that helps.....any assistance would be much appreciated!
