No passport. And there is no way I would be able to find this guy. I don't know anything about bikes or bike damage. Plus I am on a tourist island where I know there are many "scams". So I am indeed in a pickle. The original owner of the bike has taken the bike. The owner of the bike says the Honda Dream retains its value and is worth that much because they are no longer made. And vintage. ????

Not it doesn't, a bike that old wouldn't get 5k for it. Look in the classified you'll see yourself. My old Honda Wave110 I sold recently was only 8 years old can only just get 10 for that, they're trying to scam you big time.

  2. You can do something we had a similar problem and there is a department within local government assigned to deal with this problem, go to the local Ampur office tell them what is going on and there are people who will come out issue a warning and if it isn't adhered to within 7 days the dogs will be removed. We've used it twice because of dogs coming in to kill my chickens. Most recent was only 3 weeks ago and the two dogs responsible have both been removed and re-homed by their owners under guidance from local office. Also I was compensated for loss of my birds too.

  3. These snakes can squeeze into really tiny cracks and love the stairs, also very very quick to get away. About Pit Vipers I get lots of them in and around my garden, usually pretty placid but you do occassionally get one with small snake syndrome!

  4. Always a lot of ducks in Chatachuk market on the weekends, lots of normal egg layer and Muscovies. Also Mallards, call ducks and more "specialist" ducks if people like different types and colours, finally on one stall there is a "Thai Superduck" which to me is a cross between a Teal and a Campbell. Don't quack but make a warbling sound, very pretty colours but more importantly lay very big eggs. Incredibly fast too! For info I have at the moment Cambells, Cayugas, Appleyards, Swedish Blue, Magpies, Peking and Abacot Ranger. Would like some good Mallards next, currently incubating eggs from Cayugas, Swedish and Appleyards.

  5. Make sure you put a brick or something so the ducks can get in their pond, also one inside so they can get out because ducks can damage their feet and legs very easily, happened to a couple of mine. Also don't feed it any pastry stuff or bread that I read in one comment, it's very bad for them.

  6. They are khaki campbell ducks which produce the most eggs and probably the most common duck around, but nice ducks.

I previously had chickens, built a hut.

Just got a couple of ducks, no pond, no hut. They just sleep and lay eggs on the grass. Eventually I'll get round to a pond and hut..

Ducks are easier to keep, lay more eggs. and seem to fend for themselves better than chickens.

1 duck lays 9 eggs in 10 days.

1 chicken lays 2 eggs in 3 days.

Not to mention duck eggs sell for twice the price of chicken eggs (3-4bht each Vs 6-8bht each).

Each duck costs me under 10bht a week in grain and feed, so far.

    I know nothing of geese.

    PS

both my chickens and ducks were equally friendly. Follow me around the garden, sit with me, etc.

neither the chickens or ducks needed males to lay. Suspect geese don't either.

I have no idea what breed these ducks are, a male was given to me, the female cost 100bht. Both 6 months old.

About to spend another 100bht for another female.

Boiled duck egg sandwich is great!

My gf recons' they taste different to chicken eggs, but I couldn't tell and taste difference.

Boiled duck egg a bit harder to peel than boiled chicken egg.

  7. Hi, just something that might help, I live near a big river and for years had two or more snakes a day in my garden, from 3 metre Pythons, Rat snakes, Pit Vipers, Fish Snake, etc. anyway I was told to by a goose or a pair of geese. Yes I scoffed at it too but I got a pair and since then I've had one small snake in my garden, and it been over a year. I got ducks and they were in at the ducks and the arrival of the Geese has totally got rid of them. Strange I know and I wouldn't of believed it if I had not seen it myself, apparently it's the smell or something which snakes cannot tolerate. Yes I know sounds crazy but true.

  8. I also think that a lot of neighbouring countries are now accessible compared to years before, so that is having an impact too. Many tourist who travel here are the adventerous type and with all the problems we see and know they simply go to neighbouring countries. It's the same types of beaches and sea, just less hassle.

  9. Interesting topic, for me as someone who has worked closely with American's for a good chunk of my career I would have to say the people are not so much to blame, however for me personally I can't bare the way Hollywood portrays other countries in movies, incredibly disrespectful most of the time and in the end we all have to stand up and cheer for America saving the world again! In a recent popular wartime movie it was said the war would of been over 2 years earlier if Patton had been in charge of the Allied Army instead of Montgomery, alluding the face they thought he was not up for the job, but sadly this continues in so many of the movies, even animated kids movies. An honest look or approach would better, it really gets my back up and I've been to the US many times and know the reality of how people really live in the US. However you ask and Thai kids or adults what the US is like, they think it's the same as the movies, we all know it's not. The US need to get honest with itself and promote its strengths and its weaknesses and respect other Countries efforts and contributions to the past and now instead of trying too steal them or belittle them.
