My last statement is incorrect. It's not HMRC whose are making the problem, It's the DWP who supply incorrect information to HMRC, I don't see why the DWP can't supply the correct info since THEY know who is frozen and who is not.
I think the issue is that there is NO system between DWP and HMRC.

State pension is less than the personal tax allowance so is not taxed, other pensions taking you over that and interest on savings over 1k a year is.
So, do you still think my post is "nothing to do with pensions?"

Rubbish.
Everyone's circumstances are different.
I only receive the basic state pension from 8 years ago.
I do not pay tax on it.
If you receive other payments then yes, you will pay tax.
It was a poor statement.

no not really
yes
FACT........................nobody solely on state pension will have a pension great than the individual tax allowance

If state pension hasn't gone up, as frozen, why would the code change? except in error. Assuming no other taxable income
Wrong assumption.............................otherwise the state pension will always be covered by tax allowance.

Hmrc can't distinguish who has a frozen state pension and who doesn't. So they simply adjust your tax code by the generic % increase that DWP awarded for that year.
Thats the likely theory, unconfirmed.
Confirmed............

Got an email from HMRC that my Tax Code for next year was available.
Had to go online to see it, looks like they are not sending a paper copy out now.
Yes, State Pension showed an increase so Tax Code changed and increased tax due from my other pension!
Spent most of the last two years getting this corrected from earlier years of increase applied, eventually getting a cheque from HMRC.
Contacting them is not easy, the complaints page has gone.
Rang HMRC three days ago, after trying for 5 times, cut off after a few minutes, and then hanging on for 1 hour 10 minutes finally spoke to someone who corrected the error.
Checked online and my Tax Code returned to normal.
I suppose I'll have to do this again next year.
There is an obvious flaw in the system that DWP cannot pick up those people with 'frozen' pensions.

I haven't received my 'Notice of Coding' yet but what amount of increase are we talking about?
In two cases friends are paying around GBP 10 p.m. more

Nothing to do with state pensions, they are still un taxed as bellow the allowance
Rubbish.
Everything is taxable.
The state pension is deducted from the personal allowance and is the residual allowance is applied to private pensions etc.

A few people have recently received a revised Notice of Coding which increases the amount of tax paid in the next tax year.
This change in coding is solely as a result of the expected increase in state pensions. Many expats living in Thailand do not receive the annual increase in pension so, in these circumstances, will be paying too much tax.
Check your coding if you receive a new advice and take it up with HMRC if you think you are affected.

Of course. I was being facetious. I was referring to the arrest and detention of a group of farang Bridge players a few years back. Some of them quite elderly. The police used the excuse that they were using more than one pack of cards? Not being a Bridge player I wouldn't know. Barry Kenyon would. He had a front seat as I remember.
Meat on the bones:-
The Playing Cards Act is a law in Thailand that prohibits individuals from owning more than 120 playing cards that have not been registered by the Excise Department. The current law was passed in 1943, superseding previous acts. The Playing Cards Acts are part of Thailand's strict anti-gambling laws dating back to 1935. To ensure legal possession of playing cards, under Section 12 of the law, a competent official has the power to enter anywhere between sunrise and sunset to conduct a search

Everyone with a brain who is over 60 would rather be 25yo. You are old. You have maybe 10 years left. You spend it looking at images of some male actor who played a character called Pike. That's a pretty sad life. Either you fancy the actor or you are bored brainless.
You seem like a bored brainless troll................so I guess you speak from experience,

OP, reports of being able to do an extension early, (eg couple of weeks) added to the normal 30 days and some offices 45 is possible.
That has occurred where there has be evidence of necessary travel and some evidence such as flights etc.
However that does not change your ongoing "renewal date"
The only way to do that is to start over.
If married to Thai you can change the date by obtaining a 60 day extension to visit wife.
In addition an agents may be able to assist with earlier renewal.
Agents (mine at least) can renew 3 months early - but, as Dr Jack said, it doesn't change your renewal date.

Absolutely not. I just got my 90 days report approved and I re-entered last October, have done already one 90 days report online after the entry. In fact I've never done 90 days report at the immigration, always did it online.
Absolutely yes.
My online report was rejected following my return on 30th December. At Jomtien I was told that they want the first 90 day report, after returning to Thailand, to be done in person.
That was NOT the case when I returned last July.

I'm in the same boat here.
Just got rejected (with no explanation.)
I have also traveled abroad and returned since my last report.
'Tis a bummer seeing as how online reporting had been working like a charm until now...
Staff at Jomtien Immigration told me that they like us to report in person for the first time after returning from overseas.
Absolutely pointless IMO.
Settlement Visa Question re FLR
in Visas and migration to other countries

A friend's wife in the UK obtained Leave to Remain in October 2021 and that expires on 30 April 2024.
The issue is that they have overlooked the fact that expiry is imminent. The situation is compounded by the fact that the applicant is currently on a 2 month holiday in Thailand.
Is she able to apply for FLR from Thailand?
Whilst this oversight is entirely their responsibility I am surprised that there isn't some sort of 'reminder' from the UK authorities.
