  1. A friend's wife in the UK obtained Leave to Remain in October 2021 and that expires on 30 April 2024. The issue is that they have overlooked the fact that expiry is imminent. The situation is compounded by the fact that the applicant is currently on a 2 month holiday in Thailand. Is she able to apply for FLR from Thailand? Whilst this oversight is entirely their responsibility I am surprised that there isn't some sort of 'reminder' from the UK authorities.
  2. Lucky that I was there 2 weeks ago 🙂
  3. Shantaa Resort restaurant has a view over a pier like that.....
  4. yes FACT........................nobody solely on state pension will have a pension great than the individual tax allowance
  5. Wrong assumption.............................otherwise the state pension will always be covered by tax allowance.
  6. There is an obvious flaw in the system that DWP cannot pick up those people with 'frozen' pensions.
  7. Rubbish. Everything is taxable. The state pension is deducted from the personal allowance and is the residual allowance is applied to private pensions etc.
  8. A few people have recently received a revised Notice of Coding which increases the amount of tax paid in the next tax year. This change in coding is solely as a result of the expected increase in state pensions. Many expats living in Thailand do not receive the annual increase in pension so, in these circumstances, will be paying too much tax. Check your coding if you receive a new advice and take it up with HMRC if you think you are affected.
  9. Meat on the bones:- The Playing Cards Act is a law in Thailand that prohibits individuals from owning more than 120 playing cards that have not been registered by the Excise Department. The current law was passed in 1943, superseding previous acts. The Playing Cards Acts are part of Thailand's strict anti-gambling laws dating back to 1935. To ensure legal possession of playing cards, under Section 12 of the law, a competent official has the power to enter anywhere between sunrise and sunset to conduct a search
  10. Rubbish! Should read, in most cases, "whose extra curricular relationships ability involve a paid encounter on XYZ"
  11. Be careful you don't fall off that high chair............ I like to visit prostitutes, but I am most certainly not a desperate loser. How does that fit with your stereotyping?
  12. Do you have a life?..............
  13. You seem like a bored brainless troll................so I guess you speak from experience,
  14. Just under the bridge.............................
  15. Agents (mine at least) can renew 3 months early - but, as Dr Jack said, it doesn't change your renewal date.
  16. Absolutely yes. My online report was rejected following my return on 30th December. At Jomtien I was told that they want the first 90 day report, after returning to Thailand, to be done in person. That was NOT the case when I returned last July.
  17. Staff at Jomtien Immigration told me that they like us to report in person for the first time after returning from overseas. Absolutely pointless IMO.
