  1. Muay Thai,

I wish you the best of luck with you and the girl of your dreams !!,

My wife experienced about 3 years in the UK, She found it hard to come to

terms with most things IE Weather/Family/Cost of living/Money/language/culture and other things to boot, I work in London but commute from Suffolk (yes i'm a bumkin) So my hours were long and my wife was alone most of the time, despite the 100% support of my family khun wifey just would not accept any help and made it 10 times worse for herself she was (gen jai) i think is the expression !! This was the main stumbling block impacted by the fact that she had a tough upbringing.

I think my wife and maybe others think that there fairytales come true when they stamp that visa..but alas i doesn't always work out, After 3 years of trying (maybe too hard) we mutually decided to seperate, We both were of the opinion that the bad times outweighed the good times and we would both be happier if she went back to her family and i stayed in UK, Needless to say it was the hardest thing we have both done in our lives so far, The good thing is we are both quite young Wifey 26 / me 29 and we still stay in touch etc etc..

But that is just part of my story tried to keep it as brief as possible.

Please don't take this as me trying to piss on your chips !! I'm sure things will be great for you two, I wish you the best of luck, And if things get a bit tough just keep plugging away...

    :o

  2. :D

I got the bus from Surat Thani to Bangers with Khun wifey, son & lots of bags in tow......

bus turned up not enough room for all our luggage.... :o What to do ?

turns out that another bus was going at the same time.. they slung the rest on the other bus...Oh no i thought here we go this bus is going to Bangers and the other one is probably headed to Chaing Rai knowing my luck, But everything was fine both buses arrived at the same time and our luggage was safe !!!

Agreed Mini bus travel is torture. B)

  3. Rolling Stone,

Chennai is quite small and taxi's/minibus's are dirt cheap.

If u have time to kill i can suggest "Fishermans Cove" a well known Beach Resort.

About 30-40 KM from the Airport should take 90 mins, Enough time to relax

bite to eat and take in the beach if you like.

Other than that there normally is english speaking tours of the city bookable at the airport (Temples etc etc)

Make of it what you can i guess !!!

    Good luck

    :o

  4. Speaking of this, I have read an article about a young English lady who won GBP 16,000 on who wants to be a millionaire. She is a student who worked as a volunteer in her gap year, And was so touched by it all she donated all her winnings to the orphanage she worked at.

    Very commendable. :D:o

  5. Sidzz,

Also please bear in mind if it is shipped into the UK once it arrives you need

to collect it from the port or have it delivered, The two main ports for cargo from the Far East is Felixstowe or Southampton, Of late there has been the obvious export/production boom in China volumes have rocketed and been impacted by the pre christmas rush., Due to the influx of containers both ports are heavily congested at the moment so there isn't enough hauliers to cover the deliveries.

Make sure you plan ahead, If the cargo is shipped you will need at least 1 month just to allow for the shipping of the goods, then you need Customs clearance/paperwork, collection delivery etcetera all in all it's lengthy process so make sure time is on your side. :o

  6. Yep some ###### good films,

    Scarface (Pacino)

    Withnail

Bad Taste (Not sure if anyone has heard of this one i think it's a Kiwi film)

Me myself & Irene (cheese tits !)

    Kingpin (Munsen)

    Apocalypse Now

    Ong Bak

Fearless Hyena (Jackie Chan) (pre Hollywood)

Shaolin Temple (Jet Li) (pre Holywood)

    Usual suspects

    And loads more..... :o

  7. (are you sure they were real sisters ?).

    Good point JJ !!

If they aren't sisters no big deal it just eliminates a certain amount of Fantasy (well for me anyway), Tizme is already indulging himself in relations that some people may dream of, d@£m that lucky sun of a wotsit !!

If they are sisters..Well my favourite sayiing comes into the discussion..."mmmmmmm hubba hubba"

Keep it up Tizme (no pun intended)   :o

  8. Tok long with ######,

    Here is my experience,

Caught a bus to Pak Chong with Khun Wifey and our boy, Being tired and slightly hung over i left a bag at the bus station with my forking passport some cash and a digital camera, And just like SVB when i realised i didn't have my bag i felt that instantaneous panic, the same kind of panic you get if you got your hand or head trapped in something and your were underwater with no B.A...!!! umm maybe thats to vivid err anyway i digress,Upon running down the hotel stairs to reception i almost ran into a chap from the bus station who was trying to sell us a trekking tour in the jungle "I take you to waterfor fwom da moovee da beach same same in the movie"etcetera, anyway this chap was brandishing my bag "you bag you bag" he said and proceeded to hand it over

with everything in it !!!! He'd followed us on foot from the Bus station where i had left it.

And yes of course you guessed it the very next day we were trekking in the Jungle with this chap and we paid him well as a thankyou.

    ::o:   :D

  9. Send it to me. I'll make sure i pass it on, Honest....   ???

What's your location ?, Khun Wifey often gives me cash to send to her father i send it by "Moneygram" from the post office in the UK. This deals with outlet banks throughout Thailand.
