  1. excelent...decision!

    in uk english...

    in france ..french

    in germany ...german

and so on....it is incredible as thai woman can't learn any language even living with a foreigner in his own country...i have seen many example allready here....australian , english american etc etc ..!

in our rich countries we have more than enough ...immigration .....who do not integrate themself and use our taxes and laws to get only rights and a better life....and what does thailand for us in return...??????

just nothing ...here if you have money you can stay and if you dont ...even married or whatever ...you have to go.

so if i could decide i would aplicate the same laws as thailand aplicate to other citizens from others countries

eye for eye, teeth for teeth

    and have a good day!

I had a different experience. I have met scores of Western immigrants in Thailand who could not say "hello" in Thai.

On the other hand, improbable as it may sound:

    - A Thai lady in Sweden fluent in Swedish and English (15 years there, came with nothing, owns a small restaurant now, plans to go back home in 5 years)

    - A Thai lady in Austria - fluent in German, server at an airport business lounge

    - A Thai family in Germany - owners of (yes!) a street food stall - fluent in German and some English

Maybe those partners of foreigners in Thailand just have a small hope that their husbands will make an effort to learn Thai?

year man..clap2.gif ..take my hand and start count the fingers.cheesy.gif ..we are not talking about exeption.blink.png

anyway do you speak fluently thai ? ...because i do... plus german , plus italian, plus spanish, plus french and as you can see also some english too....come on man ....1st if you want to immigrate, and integrate yourself, you need to learn the local language....just don't limit yourself in paying for everything here in thailand like all most of farang do there...except me of course, cause i am not that kind of stupid!

  3. sorry for this bad personal humor but when i read these things i get in a very bad mud because this is again an incredible bull s/h.i.t...made especially for us......the main city is ubon ratchathani , but no sir...dont make it easy ...make it hard so we can be hassle all the way long ......now....we will have to spend more gazolin and more time to go near the border in a no where zone to make our document legal....why dont they put the office directly in the midle of the lake or in pakse (laos), ..so at least we can make some kind of tourisme at the same time.

also 90 days on line for me and many others ...it is not working, because their database is not update ot full of errors.come on man ...give us a break ! i am honestly so fed up of these immigration incomprensible rules or way to focus the thing.....wich are inhuman, unfair, and not even logical.

    to whom it may concern

like jim morrison said once: i am sick of these stinky boots!..lol!

  4. hi man....i am french too!

in france we da have a south with plenty coast where the wheather is very mild all year...next there is spain or italy also very hot...it will be good for your bones..burp.gif

2nd you are 27 years old....so just go to a thai ambassy and ask them if you want to stay legally here what kind of visa you need. but...i think you loose your time anyway....your extensions will last and you will have to go away...thats the reality...or find a company here who want to contract you, otherwise getting married but even like this it is not a solution....in thailand...here they want only 30 days rich tourist people or old fellows with a good pensions to spend here.

    thats all

my opinion....go somewhere else where they make it easier!

  5. we are a lot here negative.......surprisingly i had a young thai customer this week in my resort...a 19 years old student, a hell of inteligence, talking in a perfect and fluent english and knowing about geography, history, science etc etc ....i mean an amazing fellow with modern ideas ...!

i told him....your father can be very proud of his son and honestly thailand need people like you, because here the nivel is so low...!

it took me 10 years to find such an interesting person....so much age diference... but otherwise absolutly nothing...i wish thailand could take care and keep that kind of people here for the benefit of their own country....there are so few!!

  6. Not wishing to side track.....but next week I travel to Vientiane to obtain non imm O based on retirement.

The reason I did not convert my tourist visa to non imm was I had trouble showing money came from o/s.

From reading the posts above it would seem I will have same issue when I apply for one year extension . Is that the case. Any advice appreciated.

The post stating that proof of the funds coming from abroad is needed is not correct, It is not required to get the extension of stay,

exactly..!stop think to much and just do what thai immigration ask....it is very simple as you follow the rules

  7. Do you mind telling which documents hua hin immigration is asking for?

800k locked in a thai bank account for 3 mounth is the key for retirment visa.

    intheclub.gif

That was actually not my question,I wanted to know which documents he need to provide to see the difference to immigration in Sriracha or another one

    all over thailand it is the same for this kind of visa;

    • Applicant must be 50 years of age or over
    • Must meet the financial requirements
      • Security deposit of THB 800,000 in a Thai Bank Account for 2 months prior to the visa application.
      • Monthly income or pension of at least THB 65,000. An affidavit from the foreign embassy or consulate has to be obtained as proof of the income.
      • Combination of the Thai bank account and yearly income with the total of 800,000 THB.

Supporting documents as proof of the security deposit in a Thai bank are as follows:

      • Updated bank book or passbook
      • Bank letter stating that the money had been deposited to the account from an oversea source for not less than 2 months.
      • it is called in thai "bank laplong"

    end of the story

  8. i voted no .......because........i learn my profession in a french professional catering school and i work in hotel and restaurant business since 45 years already.

coffee shop, bar and terace are meeting and talking places , all famous writers, painters where meeting there for hours having conversation..at the end the owner make money the same there is no reason to overcharge....as usual if some people dont consum anything and there is place needed, the waiter or the owner will tell them to live or to consum again because he need the place for his clients.and has we did until now...there is no problem at all.

money ..money...always money ! what the hell let people breath for a while!

  9. thailand is the third country visited in the world so they decided (thaksim started this) to look for good $$$$$ customers, they want real tourist with a return ticket since many years allready and only people with money, ..........they are fed up about all these bag packers from before....yesterday a guy call me and say i want a room for the month (could pay only 5000 baths) but for sure he will rent it for more time...then i said to him..sorry not enough and also... it depend more on what kind of visa you have first and after you can see what you want to do.....but here the people put the chariot in front of the bulls.....if i was that guy i would have leaved that ambassy, that nightmare and go to philipines or where ever they do accept my presence and my money.

sometimes it is not worth it to insist , the world is large and big, there is many places , don't wait for the thais to accept you.

scheck the country rules and do it the right way....dont try to do it the way you want only because u have lots of chances to loose

  10. Thailand should not allow foreigners to own property. In the USA as well as many other nations anyone can buy property...anyone. Doesn't matter if your an illegal alien or who you are. No, as much as I'd like to own land in Thailand under my name, I understand why it's not allowed.

so tell us what you understand and why !

cause me after so many years here i am still in another planet, i dont understand nothing especially when it is not logical, the thai system is made a way that you have many chances to loose if you are not very very carefull with who you put your money on especially when this "who" has 2 tits.

today still renting is the best solution in thailand, never buying !

    think about it

  11. Gentlemen, I would ask you to consider the reasoning behind a lot of this.

Thailand is a top down society. Unless the top own it all then there can be no real power. Once foreigners are allowed to start owning then it is understood that they will bring other laws with them in regards to ultimate ownership. This is not to be allowed under any circumstances.

Also, the current situation allows locals (read women) a way to own their own place when they would never be able to ordinarily do it.

Why do you always talk about owning in Thailand when you should know that you are not wanted. here.coffee1.gif

i would say your money is surely wanted ................but not you.burp.gif

high top thai society who always run all the business is very very conservative for everything and they do control everything.

changes is not on the menu today!

in spain they still say sometimes " mejor mal conocido que bueno por conocer"

  12. since many years allready, i think it is time to pack and go....i am just waiting to get my investment back and i'll live for sure.

thailand dont offer at all that kind of life they always try to sell to us.

here it is only a matter of money! nothing else....as a foreigner you are a farang or whatever they want to call you depending where you are from...a walking wallet who has a reason to be here only if you can afford it.

    sorry for the bad news!coffee1.gif

  13. we would make a favour to the eco system if the eu banned them.....and not only the thai.....many more!!...... seas and rivers of thailand are fish less since long time.just come and see to ubon to the mun river..!or other places!

economy and money is one human thing....the planet need a rest...........we kill everything on the name of the economy and grow....and we are wrong because one day nothing will be left for you to put in your mounth.

    then what will happen?

i am glad we are more clever in europe .....we do fish with quotas now... who are controlled by specialist and every body is happy and responsable with that mature decision...the fishers and the consumer!
