You could enter the country on a 90 day visa, deposit 400k Baht in a bank account on your name, and then do an extension of stay based on marriage. Your wife would need to be with you, but you would not need to leave the country for the entire duration.

If you wish to travel get a multiple re-entry permit here.

This is a good idea. Thanks for the lateral thinking!

  2. I've been away from Thailand for a while. I'm looking at gaining a 1 year multiple entry visa from London based on marriage.

The embassy webpage states for non o:

"Multiple Entries Visa will be valid for 1 year from the date of issue. You must enter Thailand within the validity of visa. However, the permitted length of stay is up to 1 year from the date of your arrival in Thailand."

    Link to embassy quote

I thought that for a multiple entry visa each entry is for 90 days and then you have to exit and re-enter the country to get a new stamp?

So can I simply get one of these visas and stay inside Thailand for a year?

    Thanks.

No, no, no, they don't accept, and if you booked a flight with them, and they cancel your flight for some reason....you DON'T get your money back!

    Okay thanks for the info.

I have arranged for PCR tests at a hospital close to my home.

A friend flew to the UK recently and was accepted with results from this hospital, so I know at least this test will be okay

The Airline does not decide which Covid 19 tests are acceptable.  The destination country does.   As far as I know Thailand will only accept PCR tests within 72 hours of departure for arrivals from outside of the country.

So as my destination country is UK, when I leave Thailand, Thai Airways should accept an antigen test because the UK accept it.

    But I need to confirm.

  5. I am flying from Bangkok to London.

The UK accepts covid antigen tests to enter the country, but does Thai Airways accept this type of test to board the plane?

Hoping to find someone that has successfully boarded a Thai Airways flight using this type of test.

...and yes, I have tried to call Thai Airways many times, no answer. I have also emailed them, no answer.

    Many thanks.

  6. Is it possible for a child that is studying in a Thai school to transfer to a UK school?

My son is British/Thai. I plan to stay in Thailand and school him here.

However, my wife and I have talked about if our circumstances were to change and we had to move the UK, would our son be able to join a UK school without issue?

In the UK, children must attend school by law, so he can't be refused, correct?

There must people who have done this in the past. I'd be interested how things went for you.

I bought some bitcoin back in 2017. I still can’t figure out how to transfer back to my bank account.

easy to buy , not so easy to get your money back , that has been my experience, would love to hear from anyone who has managed to get any money back to their account.

my advice therefore would be to invest a minimal amount, say 1,000baht , then attempt to get it back to your account... good luck with that!!

This can be done with Coinbase. Withdrawals to accounts, cards and Paypal all available.
