  1. Very frequently, the webpages do not load. It happens randomly. Sometimes I have to retry more than 10 times or have a coffee break. It started happening occasionally,  2 weeks ago, but it is getting worst every day.

It doesn't seem like a connectivity issue, because Skype, IPTV, YouTube or any streaming service do not have any interruption, so I think that it must be the DNS servers.

I have tried 3 different laptops with Firefox, Chrome and MS Edge. One of them with fresh installed Windows. It doesn't seem like an issue on my side.

I have called them 3 times, talked 4 times on the chat, and they have already come to replace the Gigatex router. But the issue is not solved.

Anyone else experimenting these problems with True?

  2. Am I right in thinking that I can get the Nexux 7 (2013, possibly LTE??) or Samsung Tab 8 easily in the shops in BKK. Currently in Chiang Mai and none too sure about availability.

I've asked everywhere in BKK, from MBK to the durian markets, and I couldn't find the Nexus 7.

I finally bought it from Lazada for 7,608 THB (WiFi only). Delivered in just 2 days.

ps: I'm very happy with it!!

  3. Hi. I have been today at MBK and I could not find the Nexus-7 2013 WiFi + LTE 32 GB. I asked at many shops, and one of the sellers assured me that it was not in stock at any shop on MBK (they all go to ask somewhere else and they come back after few minutes).

Lazada doesn't have the LTE model. Anyone know where can I find it? Perhaps at Pantip Plaza?

    ps:

I also found this deal for 10,600 THB but they say that it is not in stock anymore.

  4. If not a coup, why would they not have done this in conjunction without consulting the govt?

How does taking over media outlets fit what he is saying also?

Surely if they announced this with the govt and kept both side separated, then everyone would be happy. But now it still looks like another power play.

Probably because the govt was not interested in peace? 1) caretaker minster's adviser caught transporting M16 war weapons, 2) CAPO states they will protect reds who are not being attacked!, but adds "we believe violent attacks against the PRDC will (should?) continue!" (dozens killed, 100s wounded, blah, blah). Just guessing here, I don't think the government thought peace was in their own personal interest, but M16s were.

I agree totally. Drag them kicking and screaming but still leave them there until an election can be held. Use the military to safeguard the election to reduce the cheating that happens on both sides.

The consequences of the military taking over will not be good for the people of Thailand

Whatever the consequences, they will surely be better than more people dying or getting injured from the never-controlled violence.

  5. Army is now enforcing censorship on print, broadcast, online media. #Thailand #MartialLaw

Army announcement: ”Do not spread news (…)” that can negatively affect security.

Well that is a coup then.

    GOOD!

Why? They have just cut one of the supplies of poison that was calling for violence. That is a matter that seriously affects the security of the citizens.

  6. Very strange timing for the army to enforce martial law.

The talks are deadlocked but they have been for months now so I wonder why now?

Maybe suteps threat for his last final push to get a million on the streets which was just another hollow threat however the reds reaction of heading to bangkok might have swayed them to act but why now?

Quite clearly the bias is once again been shown by the army shutting the red tv channel while the yellow channels are free to operate .

The reaction from the reds is going to be interesting as sutep has been allowed free reign in bangkok for 6 months now and all his allies or what he thought were allies in the end did not back so it upped the ante once again.

I don't know why the military moved now as I don't see what's going to achieve in the long run instead of making a bad situation worse.

The people of Thailand once again see demroracy hijacked.!

Strange timing? Do you want more people to die due to the incompetence of the Police and the CAPO?

  7. We're now at 11 pages and running...

Hopefully before we get to 100, someone from the Army will pop up and explain just what, if anything, their imposition of martial law is going to mean for average citizens, Thai and farang alike.

Nothing in the Army's original announcement about curfews or anything like that. Perhaps they don't feel those kinds of measures are necessary.

  8. Dear TV posters that are unhappy with the army, If you are now in Thailand, now that armed redshirt hordes were heading to Bangkok, would you really prefer to put your security in the hands of the Royal Thai Police, or the CAPO forces, or Surapong's Special Elite Forces, or Chalerm's boys?

Please, answer the question sincerely to yourself.

This is the Police Special Elite Team that was trying to arrest the Indian businessman Mr Sathit Seagal at his apartment but were stopped by a group of kind citizens. They don't even wear a proper uniform! They look like unofficial paramilitary militia fighting drug cartels. They are a complete joke!!!!

  9. So now we know one of the ways the red shits are getting their armaments . . . the Government are supplying them.

Your avatar belies and undermines your opinion. Why? Because you "Have no authority." Authority only comes to democratically elected officials and you and your cohorts are not elected and couldn't win an election if your life depended on it. Therefore, you lack all authority. Just...as the saying goes, "Respect my vote." 555

Authority comes from RESPECTING THE LAW. No matter how democratically elected the officials are, and no matter how many votes they get; if they don't respect the law they have no authority.

  10. Beauty Queen Apologises For "Dirty Reds" Remark

    By Khaosod English

BANGKOK — The winner of Miss Universe Thailand has apologised for the hateful comments she posted about pro-government Redshirts on social media.

Weluree "Fai" Ditsayabut, 22, said on a Channel 3 talk show this morning that she is distressed by the wave of criticism her posts have generated.

"It is still fortunate that I have people around to cheer me up," she told talk show host Sorayut Suthasanajinda.

Hours after Ms. Weluree was crowned winner of the popular Miss Universe Thailand beauty pageant on Saturday night, it was quickly discovered that she had a history of publishing disparaging comments about Redshirts on Facebook and Twitter.

In one particularly harsh comment from November, Ms. Werulee described the Redshirts as "anti-monarchy," "dirty" "evils" who should be "executed."

In an interview this morning, Ms. Werulee confirmed that despite the uproar her comments have caused, she will not concede the pageant crown. She explained that she intended the remarks for "a circle of close friends," and not members of the public.

"I was careless. I was young. I did it recklessly," Ms. Werulee said, adding that she has learned a lesson from the incident and that she intends to use all the criticism she has received to improve herself.

"It won't happen again. Let me apologise to all the fans of the pageant, and to all Thais," said Miss Universe Thailand 2014.

Speaking after Ms. Werulee, beauty pageant runner-up Pimbongkod "Ellie" Chankaew denied rumours that she cried on stage out of bitterness when judges announced Ms. Werulee as the winner.

When judges annouced Ms. Wurlee as the winner, many of Ms. Pimbongkod's disappointed fans cheered her name instead.

"At that moment, I was so glad and overwhelmed by the people who loudly cheered for me," Ms. Pimbongkod said. Ms. Pimbongkod, who was raised in the United States, said she never expected to come this far in the tournament.

"I didn't expect that someone from a foreign country and virtually unknown [to the Thais] would receive so much support," Ms. Pimbongkod said. "I thought Thai people dislike those who don't speak Thai well. That's why I cried. I wasn't upset. I accept the judges' verdict."

Apologizing is an unknown action for most of the Thai Politicians. Just by taking that humble step, she puts herself in a position far above the political class.

  11. Both sides have participants who join for free and those who are paid to take part.

Both sides include peaceful demonstrators who sit-in, listen to speeches, clap, whistle, and cheer, as well as more aggressive protesters who confront opponents and authorities, seize public and private property, and disrupt the lives and safety of others.

Both sides have used similar tactics of trespass, intimidation, and street violence to coerce goverment, civil service, media and businesses for one reason or another.

Both sides employ "guards" who are given localized, quasi-police powers. They control access to public places, command traffic, and exercise powers of search and detention.

Both sides claim to have the spirit of the law, if not always the letter of law or the institutions of law, on their side.

Both sides use the rhetoric of "eliminating" the enemy from Thai society.

Both sides have their moderate and radical factions. The moderates distance themselves from their movements' individual political leaders and prefer to focus on questions of structural reform. The radicals focus on personalities and reject the idea of compromise.

Both sides must tiptoe around a set of prohibited topics that none of us is permitted to discuss in public, but which are ultimately central to the conflict at hand.

    * * *

For these reasons, and many, many others, I don't see how anyone who cares about peace, justice, truth, or--dare I say it?--democracy can choose one side and attack the other as vehemently as many TV users do. Honestly, I think Thailand's political crisis is just another opportunity for angry, frustrated, possibly intoxicated farang to vent their rage, without effect.

Are you above all that? If you are, what brings you to participate at this thread of frustrated farangs? Monday intoxication? wink.png

  12. Since she spoke out against the Reds she is automatically an enemy of them and supporter of the PDRC. Which means

Chalerm will do all he can to take her title and freeze here accounts and possibly make criminal charges against her. Since the PTP doesnt believe in freedom of speech or freedom of choice in politics then we can expect coffin burnings with used bloody tampons in front of her house along with the late night grenade throwing party. And since she is pro king and not pro PTP Thak she may be banned from the North

Charlerm doesn't need to do anything, just give the owners of the international pageant time to find out she has ...

    1. Expressed a strong one sided political statement

    2. Promoted violence

... both of these are grounds for instant disqualification from the international competition. She clearly isn't as smart as many here like to think because she hasn't even taken the time to read the rules ... you know how yellows like to hold others to the rules. She's pretty much finished already and she knows it .. thats why she's spouting off while she still had some media. I used to be involved in the Australian competition and we had to get the girls to sign a statement saying they understood these particular (and other) rules before they were even allowed to be photographed for the series. It's extremely strict.

That said #2 was a far better choice anyway

Are you talking about Koh Tee, the Red Shirt leader that wants to "get rid of the elite" (genocide) with "lots of blood and violence"? (his words), and wants to divide the country, and blames the monarchy for all Thailand's problems?

I didn't know ko tee was a contestant in the miss Universe pageant sorry ... that is what I was talking about ... can you give me a reference that shows him I a bikini? Bwahahahaha

In bikini? Here it is. And he is a contestant for Mr. Universal Terrorist

But the CAPO has not disqualified him. They are even providing him with protection
