  1. In 2004 I got my Thai driver license in Phuket, showed my European driver license and the only thing was needed sit in a plastic reaturant chair and look a traffic light and when go red must brake immidialy.

Then a carton disk with coloured round dots and must say which number was insite, i'm color blind and that test i failed.

But I got my driver license in 1 hour, on that time just a pcs printed paper, now its a plastic card.

However last year i was entiled to renew my driver license and did it in Nong Bua Lampu, now must look a 30 min video, again sit in a plastic restarant chair and must proof if I can brake on time, the same colour test and failed again ofcourse.

But I got my driver license renewed.

  2. 3. "The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is teaming up with the Department of Tourism to crack down on corrupt jet ski operators, and introduce new regulations and safety standards"

Put in the regulation that all renting out there Jet ski's must be proper insured and the ones who rent it cannot be held liable for any damage.
And put a heavy fine on it who breach the rules. Heavy fine can be seisure and lost of the Jet Ski. That will hurt.

Inform tourist about the regulations ( big sign at the Jet Ski operator site ) , each operator must have the rules printed behind there bills mandatory.
Breaching this rule will result of lost of there Jet Ski. That will hurt.

  4. I'm just in the process of applying for a visa for India. As I live in the South, it will take me 3 (THREE) flights to Bangkok, to finally get the visa.

Just the normal crazy Indian bullsh***.

My passport will be in Bangkok for approx. 8 days (without me).

So, my question to the Immigration officers is: How can I please apply for a visa without breaking the law?

The Dutch embassy delivers a document that your pasport is for visa purpose on there office.

Aswell when you renew your pasport

  5. I dont understand your question. You as a foriegner can lease land for 30 years.

For instance my wife bought a property with the money I gave her as a present. She leased it to me for 30 years and then we had the chanote stamped by the Amphur that it was leased to me. No problem. This is a perfectly legal procedure. I would suggest that if you do have a problem you get a lawyer

Some of people I know ( falang ) are married with a Thai, they gave cash to the wife to buy the property, the property is then on name of the wife right ? Then the falang and wife must sign some docs that the cash comes from the wife. It will be a non-marital item.

When you divorce no rights what so ever.

The falang wants a 30 year lease contract on the property, the landoffice denied as the falang was married with the Thai.

They said it was not possible when you married to get a lease on the chanote where the wife is owner of the land.

I suppose a land office gets instructions from higher hand and we try to get any info if this stipulated by some law.

If so then all falang which have a lease on the wife's chanote can be throw out with a divorce.
