  1. It is two different things. The IDP itself is valid for 12 months. However, the country you are visiting may demand a local licence if you stay more than a certain time. I believe it is 3 months in most countries, including in Thailand.
  2. Why would she care what he can do? She gets the money, she can still do all these things.
  3. The contract started when both partners signed it. Your rent period had not started yet. Anything in the contract about what happens if one of the signers does not fulfill it? Also, how much was the deposit compared to rent and how long was the rent period?
  4. Not a spider but still ... 19 minutes long but surely worth it.
  5. It's not you and I doubt that new speakers will make much of a difference. I usually always watch TV shows and movies with subtitles on, and when watching movies with guns and cars exploding I am usually constantly turning the sound up and down so I can hear the dialogue and so I do not bother the neighbours too much. I believe I paid around 5.000 baht for my speakers.
  6. They don't even care when someone is scamming in Facebook's name. Two times, I got a direct message warning me that Facebook was about to close my account. I had to log in on a special page and ask for it not to be closed. It was of course a fake website and the message was not from an official Facebook company user. I reported the message and explained that it was an attempt to get my login code to Facebook. The first time, I never got a reply. The second time, I got a reply after a couple of weeks saying that the user/the message did not contain anything against Facebook's policies.
  7. He/she should have known better than to park in front of the angry aunties house.
  8. Isn't that a Click? As far as I can see on the internet, the ADV is not a step through. I gave up buying a new scooter because I want a step through and I want a key and kick start. Apparently they do not make those anymore. By the way, a Click 125i is fine for touring. I have been around Thailand a few times on mine.
  9. I was told 30 days. It does not say anything about validity on the Certificate of Residence, though. By the way, when applying for the Certificate of Residence you have to state what you want it for; however, the certificate can be used for several things nonetheless. Mine says driver's license, buy or sell a car or open a bank account even thought I stated buying a scooter on the application
  10. You don't need that in Phuket. The TM30 is needed in Phuket. I brought the rent contract but I do not remember if they wanted to see it.
  11. Maybe no on cares, however, generally, wild camping is not allowed. Thus camping on private ground after getting permission from the owner is the safe bet. Many national parks offers camping in a tent. https://wanderingourworld.com/wild-camping-southeast-asia-rules-every-country/
  12. He forgot to snap his fingers! If you are confused ... then you are too young.
  13. In August 2022, a new bus route opened on a trial basis directly from Don Mueang to North Pattaya Bus Station in Pattaya. They started with two departures daily, at 10:30 and 15:00, and the price was 350 baht. If they still operate the route you should be able to buy a ticket from a stall between exit 10 and 11.
  14. 1 year, according to the motor office. However, I am not sure the insurance will cover in that period. ** I have sort of the opposite problem. Last year I got a two year license because I was on a tourist visa. Now I am on a proper visa and should be able to get a five year licence - but how long before the expiration date can I apply for a new licence? I still got +1 year on the licence. ** Sorry, didn't realize that you asked about the 1st 2 year licence. My answer is for a 5 year licence. I am not sure it is the same for a 2 year licence.
  15. Sorry for not saying so, I thought it was back in all countries. It was gone for a while but in the last year I have seen it mentioned for several countries in various threads in here. I got mine in Denmark.
  16. Are you talking about the Non-immigrant O based on retirement with multiple entries? That is is for 12 months and can give you close to 15 months if you enter Thailand on the last day of the 12 months. That one is still around.
  17. Which bank is that? I am looking for a new bank and I want to be sure that I can use internet banking on my PC. Just found out it is the old TMB.
  18. I think it depends on the rider. I have done several long trips +700 km on my Click 125i with no arseache.
  19. = Speed control. There's an old story about when Queen Elisabeth visited Denmark many years ago, they covered the display in the elevators she was going to use. When the elevators were moving the sign said: "I fart" (moving).
  20. It may be different in different countries. In Denmark, I just send them a copy of the rent contract with my name on it. I have never sent an invitation letter, copies of ID's or house book or anything else.
  21. Try this: Click the menu button, then click Help => Troubleshoot Mode. Restart in troubleshoot mode and check if the page crashes continue. If they stopped, then the problem is most likely one of your extensions. You can then start in normal mode and try to disable all your extensions and then turn them on one at a time while you check if the problem reappears. Read more about the troubleshoot mode: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-extensions-themes-to-fix-problems If you still have the problem in Troubleshoot Mode you can try to refresh Firefox by typing this in the address line: about:support and then click the Refresh Firefox button. 22. It makes a bit difference which websites you visit and how many tabs you open. Some websites have a lot of ads and an extensive use of JavaScript. My desktop computer with an 8 core CPU is between 50 and 100 percent if I open a few tabs on this website. One of the reasons I am not more active here.
  23. I would call it a small trip. I just finished a 5.200 km trip on my Honda Click back in November. The third time I went for a ride like that on a Honda Click. Longest stretch in a day this time was +700 km. Jeans, long arm shirt, real shoes, and gloves would be a good idea, both in case of an accident and to prevent sunburn. Helmet depends of how much you want to protect your head. I went with a Thai helmet (full face) on my first trip because that was what I had. Now, I use a helmet from Europe. In case of rain: Stop. Do not drive in heavy rain, wait the 20 minutes it takes to clear up. In case of all day rain, wait until the next day. The trip will not take significantly more time than by car - unless you drive very fast when driving a car. Actually, riding a bike can be faster than driving a car, especially in heavy traffic or if there are many traffic signals. But, of course, it depends how comfortable you are riding fast on the PCX.
  24. You can have glaucoma and 20/20 vision. An untreated glaucoma can lead to loss of vision which can happen fast - or it can take a long time. Did they check your eye pressure at Bangkok Hospital? Did they prescribe eye drops at Rutnin?
