I suspect that, in part, this is a result of the country currently not being governed (and it may soon become ungovernable) as the PM and his clique concentrate solely on their own survival problems.
There is no proper chain of command, so underlings become free to establish their own fiefdoms - a la Poipet, the two BKK airports and now Phuket - without any scrutiny from above whatsoever, it would seem - and if only to be able to pocket the commonly mentioned B800/day "accommodation" charges.Rejecting the visa can occur in any countries
Don't bring politics into this
A visa is issued at an Embassy
Immigration don't have to accept it

I doubt it is possible to adopt a Thai child in Thailand
A friend tried once with his late brothers child, both parents died here
All sorts of barriers were in his way
The child must be brought up in a Buddhist family
Parents must speak and teach the child Thai
These were just a couple of the things preventing the adoption

Just ordered some stuff from China this morning, CoD.
Had a new phone delivered from Bangkok today (ordered Saturday), CoD.
Another package from China delivered last week, CoD.
OP is wrong.
Although I do understand they remove your CoD option if you order stuff then refuse delivery.
I stand corrected, I tried to buy something one time from China and cod was not accepted
I wont pay before I get anything

Why not publish the death toll including those who died in and on the way to hospital
That would make some, unfortunately not all take notice

Disclaimer, I love trains. As a retired airline pilot, I take the train whenever I can. No long security lines, one leaves and arrives from the city center and weather is rarely a problem. For trips of 5 hours or less you can’t beat the train.
As to the snarky comments about not trusting a Thai to handle train engineering duties at 160 KPH, this is pure racist drivel. There are plenty of intelligent hard working Thais flying planes, doctoring in complex specialties and working in disciplines that I can only marvel at. Keep your moronic statements to yourself.
But maintenance is another story, its the not so educated that do the repair work

Im very confused as I live in Hua Hin and can see the cement pillars being built, I thought these were for the high speed train, not the dual track train.
So after only having a ramshackle ancient one track rail system, we are now going to get a dual track rail system on stilts plus a separate high speed train ?
Soon it will be an elevated 2 track ramshackle service
