  1. I would reckon Pattaya Beach should be higher on the list for the very reason the writer thinks it mayeb should not (not have stunning beauty), actually Pattaya Beach have many stunning beauties. At a fairly affordable rate. What Beach can beat that?
  2. Probably the starting capacitor if it does not run or run slow. If you can not replace yourself this guy can do https://maps.app.goo.gl/r9L8SRWc5Cn9hrU29 Have many small electric repair shops around, all can do simple 5 min job. Take off the motor cover. See small black block connected with 2 wires. Snap it off and get a replacement (amorn, lazada, any electric shop) and connect back. 20-30 baht part
  3. You can just go to city hall, tell your condo address number (123/456 Moo 00) and voila they print the invoice and you pay cash on the spot. Did for myself and 3 of my neighbors (none of who had received the invoice, nor me) after Songkran

    90-Day Online

Just out from immigration for the 90 day report. Asked why got rejection even if always worked OK online for many years. Answer was that hab new system (software) and now need to do first 90 day report after returning to thailand in person, after that presumably can do online. Stupid if you ask me... Before was so that you had to do in person after entering the country with new passport first time, after that ok online.
  6. ... And if you are in Jomtien, and if the part is steel, this shop off watboon probably can fix it (weld) too. Or possibly make replacement one if some special alloy that can not weld (try if magnet sticks, if it does it is steel) https://goo.gl/maps/KnA837WVWmGkrdvm9

    90-Day Online

Filed a new one Monday morning with same results, came back rejected afternoon. Need to pay a visit to Soi 5 some day.
  8. Some european countries did similar move some years back. To deal with that, Alibaba created a system that they handle the VAT payments automatically for all the millions of parcels the sellers sell on their platform. No work at all for buyer. If you choose such euro country as your shipment location, price is different than e.g Thailand, and stated that it include VAT. Parcels come home in mail like before, just VAT added. So this is actually (relatively) favourable to Alibaba as they have system in place, whereas some smaller sellers may not. The question how will Thai govt officials enable that system to be connect to their system, as if all done automatically, not much chance to extort bribes from buyers. Alibaba sure need to pay something to customs to compensate the losses of course...but to block off Alibaba from selling to Thailand, wont happen as big brother will come remind who is big brother if they try! So, as long as they allow the IT systems to talk, this is no issue, and fully understandable for Thai govt to do it, though of course I would prefer to buy tax free.

    90-Day Online

Submitted couple of days ago, application was accepted by the system But came back rejected next day. First time for me since using the system (many years). Try again Monday, if fail need to go immigration to ask what's the issue
  12. Pattaya mostly has quality tourists by thai definition (spending) , but many non quality retirees Pattaya tourists, those one week millionaires, usually spend a lot on hookers and booze every day, thus qualify as quality ones!
  13. certainly all of them have a lot to hide, and all also have something about other they absolutely dont want to become public. That's how the system works, balance of horror. Not a good idea to start nuclear war against someone who has nukes also. Having said that, if someone gets pissed off or is scrwed by others for whatever reason, the damage control is difficult. At the end, foreign media is probably the only party that could tell the truth had they access to the information. All others will be silenced if need be, especially in case like this, having the level of involved as it is. BJ is really playing a gamble, bullying the bullies, to see what he can get from the system. But he is against the big wind. Still I believe the likely outcome after few rounds of threats and barking is a settlement of some kind, and public will be told it was all a misunderstanding, nobody had done anything wrong and especially not anything illegal. Life goes on.
  14. Everybody did something that earns plain old cash, that's the whole point Whether they all agreed how that cash is distributed among them may be an issue.
  15. That's departure tax, even locals have to pay that. They of course want a tax that only foreigners would pay, just don't have figured out how to execute the collection...
  16. ? - manage money not to be used how it is planned to be used?
  17. Throwing my net here: anyone would happen to have pointers to qualified electrical engineer to review some proposed changes to electrical system in a small condo building? Someone who is familiar with building/electricity system code of what is needed etc, and ideally licensed to make drawings for possible changes? Location Pattaya
  18. Funny, very Thai news story. PM Srettha wants more tourists to drive economy. Adith of FETTA wants to get rid of over-tourism i.e less tourists Surawat of TCT wants 300 baht tax that does not impact number of tourists i.e wants current level of tourist numbers News header obviously should be 'Thailand is lost of what it wants to do with tourism'. But hold on that is not true, all they want is money is very well known by everybody. So better just get it straight to the point: 'Thailand wants foreigners' cash, but don't want them to come to Thailand'
  19. I am absolutely not racist and have nothing against Black people (nor any other skin colours), Norwegians nor birds for that matter, whether able to fly or not. However due to personal experiences unfortunately I can not say the same about Russians, and my grandpa can say even less so. My point was about statistics of well behaving Russians, and as I have quite a few Norwegian neighbors and was just talking with one of them (white hair white skin guy), just took them as example thinking what they as people are and what they are not statistically. I apologize if you understood my point as insulting for Black, that was absolutely not the intention.
  20. I think it is deeper. You believe it is behavioral. I think it is genetic.
  21. 555 - to expect respectful behavior from Russians is about same as expecting Norwegians to have brown skin and thick curly black hair, or say a bird move around by walking instead of flying i.e not impossible but fairly rare occurrence statistically.
  22. You missed one part: Influential figures telling influential figures to crack down on influential fixtures.
  23. More or less of the use-inhibiting screen blocking ads as a consequence?
