  1. SPYING, both political and cooperate, guy's it's been going on for millennia and more and will continue, But I do believe that governments spying on people for NO just cause is an invasion of privacy and is wrong this should never be allowed to happen again, also employers demanding passwords to facebook accounts should not be allowed as I feel it falls under a privacy issue not and employment condition.

Right. The real idea of spying is not to get caught. But America is caught all the time. Must mean we are not spying. Huh?

  2. It serves the same purpose as Catholicism. You sin when you want and how you want it, then ask for forgiveness. Leave the house of worship (input name of religion and their house here) and go do it again.

A dull and unstudied observation on your part....as if you can sum up the Catholic Religion in just those terms. silly.

Does Catholicism offer confession and forgiveness whilst alive which defines it from other forms of Christianity?

Let me answer like this. There are thousands of issues you could bring up about any religion to demonstrate how it does not live up to your logic. Forgiveness is just one. Do not be foollish and try to argue with those who do have faith. Mine is failing me, but there are several others who I admire.....in many religions. Arguing faith is like going fishing without bait....you are not equipped.

  3. Your cavalier attitude alone in how you approach such a sensitive and personal subject, such as religion and the role it has in a culture and family shows a great amount of ignorance. Nobody is beating you over the head here, and nobody is going to burn you as a heretic, but for crikey's sake.....do not bring this up among believers. You just might end up finding out which religion/God is actually true !

  4. Happens more often in the Philippines (many more islands). I had always thought about bringing two liters of water in plastic bottles. If no life jacket (these things sink in minutes) grab your water, drink as much as you can stomach, put the cap on and at least you have a bit of boyancy, if you don't flounder around. just put one each under your armpit. It works in a jam. Another tip....take off your pants (long jeans i hope) and tie the cuffs in a knot. Zipper it up and trap air in them. Twist the waist and voila.......a life preserver.

Yes it happens in the Phils often, but the water and Ferries are a way of life for Filipinos who are outside of Luzon. It is the same as those country folk heading back home to Lopburi, Udon, or Ubon at the end of the working week to be with their families. Safety standards are generally regulated in the Phils and there are substantial penalties for accidents from what I have seen. Although corrupt and morally warped by the demands of extremist Christianity from the Catholic Church of the Philippines, the country does care and does what it can to keep its' people safe at sea.

Not true. They are ranked very low in safety. I don't see religion has a bit to do with this or that....but here is a link that should enlighten...

  5. I have a secret to share with everyone. After living in asia for 30 years (most of it consecutive), I have long ago forgotten how to use toilet paper. Not that there is any particular skill or cunning involved in that. Very seldom have I manage to clean all traces of glooey off my delicate butt when utilized tissure. I always felt that the smell still clung to me, and I would carry that thought with me all day long. So now, if I cannot find a spray gun, I usually end up sitting in the hand sink and utilizing the faucet flow to get a nice shiny butt. Handsoap and towel are nearby. I was caught only once, sitting in the sink. So, restaurant/bar owners....please install a spray gun next to the toilet....for crikeys sake!

  6. Over 200 people on board? What a tragedy. The first thing I do is grab a life jacket when on one of these ferries.

    RIP

  7. You put the story here. Good enough. Just the other day, I heard from a 15 year veteran of Pattaya claim that he has never witnessed underaged sex trafficking. Your story is pretty accurate. I had a mom try to sell her girl scout kid to me in a bar on Ko Chang. The Mom owned the Bar...and from the looks of several other Patrons (who bought drinks for the kid), they were in the loop. I left the island the next day...and did not say a thing. But now I have. Its true...it does exist.

  8. If on an extension you only do 90 day reports if you are in Thailand for 90 consecutive days.

Providing you have a valid re-entry permit you can return at any time before your 'permitted to stay' date without affecting the validity of your extension.

The day you return is day 1 of a new 90 day reporting cycle.

How much do the re-entry permits cost? I leave four times a year.

  9. Tell the passenger to do web check-in and only hand luggage and they can just go straight through without any questions asked.

This works for us. I have been using a debit card for Air Asia so my girl could fly down to Bangkok for the past two years. She goes almost every two months. Probably she gets through because we do the web check in and she travels smart and light. Dozen or so trips.

  10. There kid also committed his crime against what appears to be a rather abusive and potentially dangerous father.

Perhaps if they'd throw the Nazi father in prison early on, or restricted access to his wife and son, things would've turned out better for his son.

Again, let us wait and see what kind of prison set up he goes to. I won't be surprised if it is a minimum security type place where psychologists and educators have group theraphy sessions, and he gets to paint pictures and watch cartoons. I bet he is out in 2 years...

Why is this harsh? It seems more helpful than putting him right back on the street like nothing happened. Cannot this be a positive prison sentence. I think it is the word "Prison" that scare everyone. Not all "Prisons" are alike. The conviction is going to hurt him more in

the long run, not the "Prison".

  11. So the boy gets 7 years for killing a child abuseing neo-nazi, the justice system is insane. The boy should be a neighborhood hero instead. He's going to be one really PO person when he gets out of the slammer, and may at 1st, head to the nearest neo-nazi club house and toss a bomb inside.

So kids, in your opinion, have the right to dole out Executions on family members.....and get badges for their effort? Makes me wonder why we ever even attempted to utilize courts, and Police. If I get you right, the kids know better that the rest of us. Is this not what Pol Pot did?

  12. Canadians do not have balls, they have hockey pucks.

Anyways..this topic always shows a good amount of ignorance... Check the DNA of any Canadian and you will probably end up with Brit Balls or Welsh Balls...with a few French Balls thrown in. As for Americans....you got to add in the African DNA, which constitutes about 99 percent of the total population ball mass of the world. lol.

  13. A slap on a hand is what some people think can change an errant child into a caring and productive human being. Sometimes you just need to shock them back into reality. This kid was on the path leading to a lifetime of heinous activities. Why not scare the snot out of him with a prison sentence? He will not be put in with adults...that is for sure. If you think that he will be in the General Community of Adult Prisoners, then you need some more insight. Stiff punishment now might be a positive thing. If he really wants out, he will have to prove his worth. Education will be provided, I am sure. Perhaps leniency on the full sentence, a possible pardon.....

  14. In the age of " smart-phones" people seem to get dumber!!

No they were always like that, but now there are records of it.

A 10 years ago I had a long funny talk with a guy who was almost 100 year and he told me all the ugly stories from the village at that time.....kids that drank with 13, smoked, had a competition who can eat more salt, etc etc and the older one believed that before everyone was smarter......

It is not true...we are not getting better or worse of with the generations...

There were only 3 important breakthroughs in history,

The Wheel, Fire, and Condoms (for those who should not have children)

    ok..maybe beer.

  15. Maybe u could try going to a school. They do visa for student 1 year. Just attend the class as u like. No attendance % required.

seems I read they are shutting down many of those avenues.

The worst that can happen to the OP is that you may have to venture outside the country to get a double entry visa twice a year(laos)...and perhaps break that up with a few months out of the country, just to avoid excessive back to back visas. For me, it works out fantastic, as I spend a few weeks in the Philippines twice a year anyways. Cost a bit more, but as I said, I enjoy the trips, and would leave Thailand often anyways. Best part of having a Philippine Immigration card is that I only paid 50 dollars and it was good for years. However, on that end, there is a paper drill and Exit Clearances which add up. I ripped my Philippine Immigration card up and entered as a tourist last time. Now I pay only airport departure fees...lol.
