Thailand please get rid of this cumbersome Thailand Pass and Insurances. I also am older at 71 and I am very confused by the procedure to return to Thailand after my, very soon, trip to Canada. I love Thailand but why make it so difficult to fly back to Thailand? Can't you do like others countries and simplify the entry? A visa on entry, money and full vaccinations proofs are all what should be needed to visit this beautiful country. Why make it so difficult? I see so many empty restaurants and closed hotels in Bangkok and Koh Chang, what are you trying to do? Have you seen the food lines in Pattaya and Samui? Are you trying to ruin this beautiful country and push to misery the low income people trying to make a living?

COVID Insurance Arranged for Visitors upon Arrival

Yes, why is it so difficult to get a booster shot in Thailand? I have checked and I see that all vaccination venues are fully booked or they have reached their inventory limits. Why do we have to always fight for vaccinations when in the USA boosters are readily available in departments stores and in most large pharmacies. If for lack of imagination, can't they copy what is readily done in the USA? Where can people get the booster shot in Bangkok???

Anutin declares he's ready to be the next Prime Minister of Thailand
yimlitnoy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Anutin is responsible for the overcrowding vaccination centers with thousands of applicants going for vaccination packed like sardines and probably infecting each others. Irresponsible! See below: -
Offshore banking for retirees

Keep your bank account open in your own country for later use. -
I went with an appointment for my DL renewal exactly one year after my expiration birthday and all went ok except that they did not want to accept my 13 digits id from my vaccination. My wife confront them with force and then they accepted my passport id. It was my last day, 365 days late, and they wanted us to come back with another appointment from them if not for my wife verbal violent intervention. Moral: When visiting any government office always go with your wife if you can.

Tourism minister questions Thailand’s 2pm-5pm alcohol ban
yimlitnoy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The Thai government could have made 300% in taxes on those sales that did not proceed. They are shooting themselves in the foot. Where I come from (Quebec, Canada) they only close for 1 hour at 3 AM in order to clean the premises then they are open again for a full 23 hours/day and all are happy. This incomprehensible Thai rule came from Thaksin era ban on alcohol for religious motives. Its was aimed at cutting down on the number of first-time drinkers. This has left business owners confused, leaving people out of work and the owners waiting for clarification on the new law until today. In those days, there was the Thaksin war on vices and drugs, nobody complained as I presume nobody wanted to get shot... -
It’s expats, not tourists that are visiting Thailand: Business leader

Abolished all those Thai insurances and keep control on those overcharged Thai hospitals bills instead. -
It’s expats, not tourists that are visiting Thailand: Business leader
yimlitnoy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Thanet Supharothatrangsi, chairman of the Chonburi Tourism Business Association is a courageous man who is not scared of telling the truth instead of kissing the boots of the governing generals. There are no tourists coming to Thailand right now and all with common sense know it. The Thai people and Thai business community are suffering, they have been deprived of a job and income without any compensation, how can they survive without a salary? Only by walking anywhere in Bangkok and one will see all business are closed and for rent or worse for sale. -
Nightmare scenarios continue in wake of Thailand Pass launch
yimlitnoy replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
The sad reality is while the tourism industry is willingly destroyed by this government there are so many Thai families that are suffering from this. Please, Thailand, let the fully vaccinated tourists come to Thailand without any more restrictions or paper work and let the economy recovers. -
Bangkok to allow alcohol in restaurants but only until 9pm
yimlitnoy replied to Jonathan Fairfield's topic in Bangkok News
This is going on since the Thaksin's government and it is ridiculous. When you restrict the sale of alcohol then you also are hurting the economy, the same about closing at midnight. If you are open all day and all night, you then double the employment and the health of the Thai economy. Let the market rule, be it during the day and during the night money is flowing for the benefit of all. Hanoi a few years back reinstated the all night economy and I am sure the government taxes coffers increased for this. Let the money flow 24 hours a day. -
Get rid of the insurances and PCR test on arrival otherwise nobody will be coming to Thailand. Cut the requirements, full vaccination is the only requirement that will protect Thailand, make it easy to travel.

can you tell the age of car by the number plate ?
yimlitnoy replied to yeahbutif's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
To find the age of a car I normally look at the laser stamp on the side windows, it has the manufacturer and the date it was made.
