  1. It's a Flux core MIG, TIG, stick welder. the one part you mentioned @sometimewoodworker about sputtering and pushback was interesting. What was bugging me the most while practicing was all the pushback the wire was doing while welding. Never occurred to me I might be dragging it too fast. I'll give that more attention the next time I get in a practice session.
  2. yea, I'm sure I can use a lot more practice, I just need to be able to dial in the settings better using Flux core to get a better weld pool I think.
  3. Thanks @mikecha, very useful information. I'll try out different wire speeds and voltage on some scrap metal to try and get something resembling a weld.
  4. Having a few issues learning proper MIG welding and would love an hour of someone's time to show me basics do's and don'ts of it.
  5. No Villa Markets in Chiang Mai. They used to have veal hot dogs (Aero brand) in Macro that were eatable, but no longer. Don't know why they stopped selling them.
  6. Online gaming (MMORPG's), Woodturning, online gaming, Hydroponic gardening, online gaming and currently modifying my Wood lathe to do metal work (fun project), finding new places to eat, baking homemade bread, fishing and anything else that seems interesting.
  7. What is DDP and does anyone have contact info for a Thai freight forwarder? I'm interested in purchasing a large woodworking tool from Alibaba (wood lathe), but not sure on the procedures to insure everything goes smoothly.
  8. Sent you a PM @stuartd1.
  9. @33 RPM Have you been to the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand just north of the 700 year stadium? Might be a good place to meet people with a similar interest. Located here: https://goo.gl/maps/Hyn7BP3sv7F7XAHPA

    You still playing NW?
  11. Thanks, I am interested in where to find metal stock also. I'll give them a look see.
  12. Just want to hear your opinions on the good, bad and the ugly of working with them. I currently have a wood lathe, but I think I might want to try out a metal lathe as a hobby also.
  13. I'm already going to be going by Chinatown, so I guess I can look around there. Thaicarpenter is a little bit out of town, but their website looks like they carry a lot of nice stuff. So far it looks the most interesting, thanks!
  14. I'm going to be in Bangkok soon and would like to see what if any, woodworking tool stores are open to browse. I'd really like to look at what Mid size Wood lathes are available, but I know pickins will probably be slim to none in that area. I know they have stuff on Alibaba that I like, but would like to go thru a local option first if possible.
