  1. I entered Thailand suvarnabhumi airport on December 27th on visa exempt (30days) and left to Langkawi/Malaysia January 16th and now I want to go to Koh lipe in Thailand for few days and I have to get visa exempt again in lipe. Would it be considered another visa exempt added to my previous visa exempts.(I only stayed 21days on the last one)

    thanks in advance

  2. Ignore the 'enter before' date (Mar 20th) as you have already entered and the visa is used. The important date is the end of your 60 day permit to stay. You will have a stamp in your passport with an 'admitted until' date. If you entered on December 22nd the date should be February 19th.

You can apply for the extension of stay 7 days before Feb 22nd. Some offices will let you apply up to two weeks early. It doesn't matter how early you apply as the extension will start from February 20th.

  3. You do not do any 90 day report if you are not here - you just depart April 20 and enjoy yourself. When you return before 17 Jan 2014 you will receive a new one year stay from date of entry and if you do not leave for 90 days you then will make a 90 day address report at Chiang Watanna immigration in Bangkok if living here and do so every 90 days if you remain - if you leave you will do again 90 days after return.

You do not have to be concerned about re-entry permits until your entry will be after Jan 17, 2014.

    Yiu don't need to do

If you actually have an O-A (m) visa (long stay) for retirement it provides a one year stay on any entry up until the expiration date. If you actually have an O (m) visa it provides 90 day stay on each entry. Did you provide police report/medical (required for O-A)? If not you must have an O visa.

As said you do not make 90 day reports unless you stay longer than 90 days so your first stay will not require any report. A new 90 day count starts at 1 on day of return.

yes i provided medical, police record ,bank statement 800000baht etc..,am entering thailand on feb.3,2013 and leaving to USA for 1 month visit on Apr.20,2013 (77 days stayed in thai) can i do my 90 days report before i leave and do i need a re-entry permit.thank you for your help.(am sure i applied for a retirement visa) type of visa catagory no. of entry fee enter before

You don't stay for 90 days in a row, so you don't report.

No, you don't need a re-entry permit, as long as you re-enter Thailand before 17 Jan. 2014.

thank you all for your help

  5. ^ It appears that you have a Multiple Entry Visa which you got at a Consulate or Embassy outside of Thailand.

Each entry (into Thailand) is good for 90 Days in total, so after 90 Days in Thailand you have to go outside of Thailand and re-enter. You can do this multiple (M) times until 17-1-2014

You do not need to do 90 Day Reports.

You only need to do 90 Day Reports if you got a Extension of Stay at your Local (friendly) immigration office

    Edit: //

And No you do not need a Re-Entry Permit, as a Re-Entry Permit is only necessary if you have an Extension of Stay issued by your local (Thai) immigration Office

it is a retirement visa (non-immigrant A-O) paid Aud.$.225. submitted police record, medical certificate, bank statement and letter from bank confirming funds equal 800000 Baht, filled form A visa application and personal details form, made 3 copies from each original (1X3) i took the 4 sets to a public Notary to be binded and seald with a red seal.i gave all these to the thai consulate in sydney/australia

0n jan 18,2013 and picked up my passport today jan.22,2013 at 2:00pm..this is a retirement visa.

  6. today i got my non-immig A-O visa with number of entry ( M ) and enter before 17 jan 2014.. but it does not show how long permitted to stay.

the man in the embassy told me i wil get 3 month stamp at the airport and i must do 90days report .

now there is a problem..i am entering thailand on Feb.3,2013 and i am leaving for a visit to USA on Apr.20,2013 ( 77 days stayed in thai )

can i do my 90 days report before i leave at 77 days and do i need a re-entry permit.

    thank you in advance

  7. If its a big problem for you to have 800K in a Thai bank for two months before your first application for annual extension based on retirement in Thailand, you may be a person that an O-A visa (multiple entry) is better suited to. With the O-A visa you can show the money in your home country to the Thai embassy in your home country. Then by using your O-A visa properly you can make that work for about TWO YEARS before you would ever need to apply for a retirement extension in Thailand (by then your Thai bank thing should be well sorted). Cheers.

hi gingthing..i thought O-A retirement visa must be extended(renewed) every year and you have to report every 90 days from the date you entered thailand also you need a re-entry permit everytime you leave the country...so, how can you stay in the country for about two years before you apply for extension...also i read on the O-A application form ( thai consulate in Sydney) that even if the consulate granted you a one year stay visa..the immi officer in the port of entry may only grant you 90 days stay after which you must apply for extention..has anyone got 90 days instead of one year stay granted by the consulate?

  8. in retirement visa form <personal data form> for australian aplicants a question about "reference person in thailand"...his or her first & family names and phone number..the only person i know in thailand is my gf (bar girl) should i put her as my reference person ..or just not answer the question...any advice would be appriciated.

    thanks to all in advance.

  9. The O-A allows one year permitted to stay on entry. The multi entry version can be used for up to one year from date of issue and each entry would be for a new one year stay.

Any stay longer than 90 days requires you report address to immigration using TM.47 form.

Any travel on an extension of stay requires a re-entry permit to return and continue that extension. Multi entry O-A gets new one year stay so re-entry would only be required for return after the visa expires (one year from date issued by Consulate).

During last 30 days of any such extension or a non immigrant O visa entry you can extend for one year using TM.7 at immigration for 1,900 baht fee. You then need the financial documents in Thailand. Most people use Bangkok Bank, Kasakorn Bank, or SCB for accounts - if one branch does not want to open you go to another.

thank you very much for the information..I'm planing to stay 1 year without leaving anywhere.meanwhile i'll be transfering money from oz into my bank account in thailand to season before extension and then extend for one year and apply for re-entry before i go back to oz for few weeks..can i apply for extension and re-entry at the same time?

    thank you for your help

  10. Not sure why that quote was included but as stated above the non immigrant O-A is not available in Thailand and never has been. Normal extension of stay for retirement is available in Thailand and very easy to obtain and does not require the services of any third party. Costs are as follows:

2,000 baht conversion/issue to non immigrant visa entry from tourist visa or visa exempt entry (if required - most people just enter with such a visa and no special paperwork or invitation letter is required to obtain - you just ask and submit normal visa application/payment at a Consulate and 60 days after entry extend stay as below).

1,900 baht for TM.7 form extension of stay for one year.

hi everyone..am new here and i would appriciate your help in answering my question:

if i get my non immigrant OA (retirement visa) here in oz... what next when i get to thailand..do i have to visit the immigration and do more paper work (bank acc.,embassy letter.etc..) or do that before the expiary date of my 1 year stay retirement visa. and what is required by thai bank to open an account and which one easy to deal with? i know too many Q...sory and thank you all for any info
