Good to see you familiar with GR Sport and I agree with what you said. The Omni Shock and spring changes are one of the selling points on the GR but it is more extreme than I care for. I had "Rancho" brand adjustable shocks installed on my previous Hilux 4x4 but my source is now gone.
I think I will try to source some quality after market shocks although hard to find in Chiang Mai. My main question is which has the most affect, the shocks or springs. Where did you see GR Sport Shocks for sale? Thanks. There are a bunch of Toyota Revo groups were those shocks and springs are being sold second hand. Many Thai people want them, as they aren't available new from Toyota. You could look up the brand profender (Thai brand). I have them on my Ford Ranger and it's night and day. I also added one extra leafspring in the rear (Ironman) and Ironman springs in the front. Ride is now as comfortable as a pickup can be.

I have a one year old Toyota Vigo GR Sport 4x4. I know the suspension is supposedly for "performance" but it is much stiffer than any other 4x4 I have owned. Every crack in the road is felt and will literally give a passenger a headache after a while. Will just softer shocks make a difference? Any suggestions? Draw backs? Where?
You're right the GR Sport uses different shocks and incredibly stiff springs (part of the GR Sport Package). If you change the shocks and springs to standard Toyota OEM Spec, then the ride will probably get a bit softer. Sell the GR Sport shocks online for 20,000 baht (that's how much they are going for).

Did a bit of research and looked at reviews. Bit of a mixed bag of comments. Some say very quiet, others say noisy but nearly all say they wear well. Think I'll avoid though
I can only give you my opinion. I've had Toyo, BF Goodrich, and anything else in between, but these Falkens perform at the same level as tires way above its price class. I paid 16,000 for a set of 4.

Not sure what you drive, but if it's an SUV/Pick-up, then I recommend looking at Falken Wildpeak AT3WA. They are a Japanese brand made by Sumitomo (Dunlop) in Thailand, and are really good for the price. I have them on my Ranger (265/70/17). They are quiet, offer good grip etc. You can find a bunch of reviews online where they are put against BF Goodrich tires and come out on top.

I'm no mechanic , but Ford have told us it will be a 8:30 in the morning job and pick it up at 5 o'clock.
They said they have put one mechanic aside just to work on replacing alternator.
8hrs , wow , I didn't realise it was such a difficult job.
But they are only charging you for 2 hours, so not that bad right? The reason they want to take the whole day is to have some leeway if anything goes wrong or takes longer than expected. The job might finish in 2 hours, but might take 3 or maybe 4 depending on circumstances. I think your Ford dealer is taking care of you pretty well. FYI, I have changed an alternator at Mitsubishi once, and that took 3 hours to change, but I had to drop off the car at 8.00 and pick up at 17.00. Not really a big deal ????

LOL....Like they're really going to admit it.
They don't have to, because according to Channel 8 News + other Thai news sources, the girls videotapes everything on her phone. They can say whatever they want ????

Help in translation required please.
Ford 2011 Wildtrak 3.2
I have a chirping noise on idle coming from what I thought was a loose belt , a quick look by a Ford mechanic and apparently there is something inside my alternator that is broken .
It is obviously not urgent as they have to order something , but it is okay to drive until the replacement comes..(I don't understand why Ford garages does not carry spares ). I tried to get a translation of what was broken and I have tried numerous online translation apps. to help with this document , I am still at a loss.....Can anybody tell me what I am paying 11,000 baht for ?
Wages: 1,100
Alternator or ไดชาร์จ (Di-chart): 9,350That's it ^^

"This might indicate that the motorcycle driver cut in front of the MG".
Just as likely that it does not indicate that. Why are you suggesting that the blame lies with the woman on the bike?
I don't blame anyone, but according to the article the blame lays 100% with the driver of the white MG. Looking at the pictures, the MG didn't rear end the motorcycle driver, but either hit the motorcycle driver from the side OR the motorcycle driver cut in front of the white MG. From the pictures, I think you can say that the road isn't well-lit. (pictures are from KhaoSod). Finally, the white MG was driving in the right lane. What is the motorcycle driver doing there? As far as I know, they can only drive in the left lane.

If you look at the pictures from another news source, you will see that the white MG hit the motorcycle from the side (left fender, side mirror damage, etc). This might indicate that the motorcycle driver cut in front of the MG on a very badly-lit road. Not much the driver of the white MG could have done to avoid this.

If you read the whole article, you kind of understand why this happened. Same would happen in the US, in Europe or in any other Asian country.

Yeah, I have them on my Ranger and I am satisfied with them. Profender shocks are available throughout Thailand, but Falken might be a bit harder to find. Big shops will carry them though.

Tires: Falken Wildpeak AT3/W. Really good tire and price is reasonable. Quiet, grippy, good wear, etc.
Shocks: Profender Adjustable Shocks (yellow) is really good. Around 18.000 for 4.

I have sent you a DM as I am looking for a second car for the family.

Look at the manufacturing date of your seat belts. You can find a small label at the bottom of your seat belt. This gives you a pretty good idea on how old the car is.

Samsung music plays via audio. It's ver 1.6.0.1 I read in a sync vin check. Said not updatable. So a real early version and they probably added much needed RAM. I suppose some % but aftermarket stuff but I prefer decent factory stuff but I don't play loud.
Like I mentioned above, if you could inform the model (XL, XL+, Sport or XLT) and year of the Ranger, then I might be able to help more.
-
Depends what Ranger he has. Ranger Wildtrak and Raptor got full version of Sync (3.0). Ranger XLT (2020 and up) got a downgraded version of Sync (Sync 2.5) with very limited functionality (no updates etc). Probably best to connect your phone via cable to the headunit to enjoy either Apple Carplay or Android Auto.

When I had my civic, I first had PS4's and was quite happy with them, but they are quite noisy. I then changed to Goodyear Eagle F1 Sport and it was night and day. Very quiet, good grip etc. The civic is gone now, but I still got the rims that you see in the picture ???? If you're interested, let me know ^^
