  2. We  paid 45,000 baht including labour

    for 500 m2

    We planted ours 23rd Dec

    Waiting to see the results.

Can post some updated pics as and when ,

    if you would like

Can give you details of the guy who did ours .

Our house is in Phetchabun, the team of workers came from Korat , took them 2 days, they stayed overnight ,Thai style at our farm.

They deliver the plugs via Kerry if you wish to get your own team of workers in.

We opted for the all inclusive option.
    We actually needed about 800m2

But was advised that 500 m2 would spread out to cover the 800 m2 area given a few more months .

We have planted a border around the house, which will spread. The pic I posted of our planting has a concrete defined edge, but you can see the other side toward the lake , has stopped short of the whole area,, this area will fill itself

    Thanks

  3. Not quite what you asked for but

We recently bought some Thai pei grass plugs

We had a team come to plant them, they are a broad leaf grass , and they spread to fill in the gaps.

You may have seen it around hotel grounds as it  never needs cutting

just a thought, it may be an idea for you.

  5. The question of bringing up kids in Thai or UK has always brought conflicting scenarios in my own head, I have a 3 year old son.

I also have a lovely house and farm here in Thailand, the farm makes approx 70,000 baht per month, I have 18,000 chickens.

I want to put up another chicken shed cost about 2 mill baht, then the business will be making in the region of 140,000 baht per month.

So my dilema is, I want to do this for my son in later life, but feel I am choosing a path for him, I dont think there are many opportunities here for him to make that sort of money, without him being shipped off to an International school and such I will never share his life.

Or go back to the UK where the standard of education is unquestionally better, and lots more opportunities in later life.

For me it's a tough call, just hope I get it right.

  6. Sorry to Hijack but....

I am wanting one of them old small tractors, retailing about 40,000 baht, just to cut my grass and plough 6 /7 rai or so every now and again, just to keep the weeds down.It wouldn't be used for heavy work, anything to lookout for on these old machines?
