Recycling in my town means you separate plastics and cardboards then someone kindly takes them away and burns them !
That is advanced recycling.
In our village they are not separating it at all, plus they prefer burning it themselves.

Amazing that it has taken so long, considering Thailand has always been accepting LGBT as long as I have been visiting, which is over 40 years.

To be fair the ratings are odd. Hanoi above Singapore and Qatar etc.
The only real issue in Thai airports is immigration and they are trying to improve that.

the "return (flight) ticket" is a joke when many people will exit Thailand by a land border.. even a pre-booked bus ticket to say Cambodia does not count..
I guess that must only apply to certain countries. I've never been asked for a return ticket by immigration, the airline I'm using, occasionally yes.
Proof of accommodation is also weird, why do you need it?
When I travelled as a tourist I chose where to stay when I arrived at my destination.

This is just sloppy work by S Korea immigration. The whole point of an ETA is to avoid this hassle.
I hope they received compensation for the wasted journey and time.

I am going against the grain because I fly Thai Air from Bangkok - Heathrow quite often and I have no complaints . Also their flight from Heathrow to Bangkok gives the choice of arriving early morning at 06 00 am which gives me time for other flight connections from Don Mueang . Thai Air food and drinks are generally good . The disembarking at Suvarnabhumi is not too far to walk to the immigration as opposed to other airlines where the walk is often 10 - 15 minutes . BTW , I only fly economy . More often than not the Thai Air flights are mostly full of passengers , so they cannot be that bad . Also cheaper than Eva who I use to use and IMO are also a decent airline . I avoid the luggage carousels because I travel light and can be out of the Suvarnibhumi in 30 minutes after landing ( over 70 immigration booth )
I agree, I regularly make the same trip and have no complaints. The arrival and departure times at both airports suits my wife and I, and it's direct.

LOL. Doesn't matter where you go you are going to get wet.
Even in the country they line up to throw buckets of water on passing buses.
I used to love Songkran in Pattaya- great fun, till some idiot started the craze for putting ice in the water. Now I will be hiding for the duration.
I have no issue with getting wet, that's all part of it. In the village it's just more restrained and fun.
Usually head to the village for the real Songkran and then back down to Jomtien for the 19th and the festival.
Just can't stand 7 days of madness in Jomtien/Pattaya.

Avoid the tourist hotspots and it is still traditional and fun.
7 days of madness in Pattaya for example is all about the money and getting wasted.
Nothing to do with Songkran whatsoever.

I won't be surprised, tourism is a business and businesses promote themselves
Already happening. Pattaya has loads of Indians these days.
Not seen many of the rich ones though.

Mainly hit Malay tourists as loads use the land crossing.

I have had a problem once but to be fair it was of my own making.
I use Jomtien the majority of the time and they are usually very friendly and helpful.
-
I have heard about it and read about here on TV and i fully expected to have to do one when i did my 90 day last Friday.
Wrote down all of the info, plate number and next of kin etc, they never ever mentioned it and i was in and out in 3 minutes.
This was in Hua-hin.
Same with my 90 day in Jomtien last Wednesday. Nobody even asked for it.
-
I have never actually heard of anyone being asked.....in any country.
I have had it happen in Sri Lanka and Germany.
It can be a problem if you don't have permission to stay e.g. retirement/marriage..

Agree all this chat about linking passports is not really relevant, but someone advised the OP to just get a new passport which is incorrect info.
Plus his visa would still have been on the old one.
They do link passports, I saw this at Jomtien when I had a minor dispute over a visa, they showed me all my records for the last 8 years and covering three passports. It only takes a few seconds with modern hardware and database searching!
-
Not sure if this is relevant but my wife and I were leaving with our son to go to Europe.
We were in different immigration queues.
They asked my wife if she had the fathers permission to leave the country, as without it she could not! Thai law and quite strictly enforced, a good thing I believe.
Obviously I was there so there was no issue.
Maybe because he is a stepson there is an issue, parental consent maybe.

Just depends where you are now? Jomtien immigration wont help you,i had the same problem & i went there but they insisted i had to go to Bangkok immigration & wait im a long queue.Take your passport & departure card. Cost me 2,400 baht for taxi from Jomtien Beach & back so the golden rule for me is always inspect your stamp on arrival & if its not correct tell the officer.
Odd. I have never had any problem with Jomtien immigration, none of my friends either.
Had the same problem 6 months ago, sorted within 10 minutes.
-
No you don't need your wife present.
Jomtien is very efficient and helpful these days.

I was amazed at the vast number of fishing boats work from Thailand. In European waters the problem is over fishing. Will this happen here ?
It already has.
As a diver I have seen the difference in fish populations over the last 15 years.

Unbelievable, welcome to Thailand.
Please wear your tracking device at all times.

Well it would be the first cure for a virus as far as I know.
Vaccine, now that's another issue

Considering the amount of Thais that eat them they can't be that unhealthy. There all still alive.

Hardly a good topic for the Thai bashers is it?
A mix of drunk and possibly stoned people fighting and getting injured, wow!
from what I here sounds like your average Friday/Saturday night in any English city!
Of course it is so commonplace there it hardly ever gets reported, apart from locally.
The reason this does is simply it doesn't happen all the time!
Been coming here for many many years and lived here quite a while, never even seen it, and I sometimes live close to Pattaya which is apparently the hell hole of the world!
-
He has a point!
My wife watches this drivel and I have asked her if she would like me to treat her like the men in these so called dramas?
Of course she replies, No, but it's only a movie!!!
Unfortunately this sort of behaviour is not unusual so not only in Soaps.

Exactly, I wonder where these hapless tourists were from?
