  1. ok it all makes sense.. im in Pattaya. but yea, 1900 and 2 months, would buy some time..
  2. ok, is that because im getting to close? I mean, if I do this mon/tue in next week, there will still be 15-16days left, or that's not enough.. sorry for being slow understanding.. trying hard ???? and thanks again.
  3. I tried, at least for hel[ing me obtaining the non o and all the paper work, but was told they don't have this service.. only the "full" package which is kind of the opposite of the whole idea of putting 800k in the bank and trying to do things the right way. but if you know any agents that can do this as a separate service, not the full package, but just the non o, then I could try that company
  4. ok thank you.. im already on the the second/last 30d extension which are to expire 3th or 4th in next month. so that won't be possible for me. but if I go emigration next week, I could possibly get a CE if they won't give me an non-o, it will still be beefore 25th and close to the end of my current/last 30d extension.. traveling abroad is the very last possible option, as my health are not very good since a long hospital stay in bkk.. I could do it if absolutely have to, but really would like to void that at any cost almost.
  5. ok, also I just found receipts from withdrawal from foreign bank and large sum money exchange from a big exchange company abroad and other document showing I transferred large sums out of that account. so if they are worried that the money is given to me from someone here in Thailand, I can actually show pretty sizable transfers in the time up to my arrival.. maybe all this can help as well. it all depends what they are trying to archieve, but I guess that the goal is that people are not borrowing money from inside Thailand to put in the bank. I will just go ahead and hope for the best, also, covid extensions should still be avail right? so worst case, I can extend covid 60d.. or alternatively use an agent, which might be as cheap as going to Vientiane or Saigon in worst worst case
  6. the 200k ish was transferred from abroad, the 100k was just part of my regular transfer abroad. the 500k Ish I brought into Thailand in cash. was from a withdrawal abroad, I might be able to find the receipt but they made a mistake on one of these due to carbon paper and its unreadable. the account abroad I don't have access to since I closed it and withdraw the money and sent remaining funds back to my home country edit: bankbook is old, as I have been here many years on various visas and exemption and have many transfers from abroad. just this 500k is in cash. this is my first retirement extension, wasn't aware of these things (my fault, should have done better research)
  7. about 2 weeks, deposited them after my last entry and I have a deposit slip in my name if that makes any difference
  8. Im trying to get an retirement extension. I am on a visa exempt now, and money is in the bank. on the emigration website I now read this 5.1 Present passbook and deposit certificate from banks in Thailand (in Thai language (Attention: Immigration Commissioner)) 5.3 Evidence of foreign currency fund transferred toThailand I don't have this.. about 500k was deposited in cash, the rest was sent from abroad. the money I brought into Thailand in Cash What is deposit certificate? I mean, there is an entry in the bankbook? that's not enough? And how do I proof my cash deposit come from abroad? that's going to be almost impossible I am in Chonburi/pattaya if that makes any difference Any advice would be appreciated :)
  9. This seems to be a importent point.. maybe i will just go get a 30d extension and then apply for the non O and wait until money been in bank for 2 months and then apply for the 1y extension that is if i understood everything above correctly ????
  10. Hi. trying to work towards getting my first retirement visa. - money in thank since a few days ago. so still not 60 days - current entry is visa excemp, entry jul 5, expire aug 4 not sure what i need to do next? do i need to exit/entry to get a tourist visa instead and from that i can apply for a retirement extension? Also, since money not been in bank 2 month yet, in case i need to leave, i could get one 30 days extension now and then cambodia border run? Really confused about what to do next. asked an agent, who just told me to buy the "full" package they normally offer, at full price, which kind of is not the purpose (using my 800k and do it "the right way") but im so confused about what i need to do thanks in advance Vento
  11. both accounts does not exists, as im closing one and want to put the funds into an account that yet has not been opened and as such, i cant do regular transfer.
  12. Was planning to open a USD account in thailand.. closing an account abroad and can get a manager check.. its a bit more than the normal limit for cash when traveling around.. So is that even legal to carry, or should it be considered cash and declared. also, will banks accept those for currency accounts? anyone have any experience with this, or other ways of bringing some funds to thailand when i return. im abroad now and cant transfer the funds to thailand due to the account is not yet opened in thailand... not sure what to do.. any advices?
  13. the legality of this might be of concerns for the system. i think that discussion belongs elsewhere ????
  14. so my takeaway from this is 1: yes, properly easier to re-enter thailand with a retirement extension or something like that but not really necessary, can still come back on visa excempt 2: i can still get yet another covid extension, its been extended again it all makes sense now i think.. I'm properly going to go this route Thanks a lot..
  15. current covid extension ends march 24, and im confused about if its even possible to extend further or not also.. but if still possible, you might be right, maybe just easier to fix retirement when back..
  16. Yes, sorry for this, its a bit confusing for me. I have a visa exempt. would get a agent to help me with non-o + retirement extension. As i understand, i would be on non-o for 3 months and then it would change to a retirement extension (again, really sorry if this is wrong, but this is how i understood it) I would have agent help me with all the legwork etc to get non-o and the retirement extension. But im worried that any of these scenarios would cause me issues when returning.. especially if i leave and return while on the non-o i would mostly convert to retirement extension now if it could make my return/paperwork easier/possible without hazzle. i have a lot of visa exempt back to back but latest one is from 2019, since that i have been in medial care and then covid extensions. thanks again
  17. Hi. im about to leave Thailand soon for a month or two. What is less hazzle when entering Thailand now.. non-o/retirement extension (with re entry permit) or visa excempt or is it same? edit: also, where is the real resource/correct place to find current regulations for entering? i see a lot of outdated stuff around various places (not here just in general) what is the official place or is it different from the departure country? thanks in advance
  18. Im not sure also.. its all a bit confusing to me, dealing with financing that did not speak english or insurance office that not speak english (i not fault them, im in Thailand, i should be better at Thai, not the other way around). but insurance company called DLT which confirmed its been cancelled in old province and i needed to get new plates. but for the sound of your and other replies, it doesn't sound like its unusual or very risky to let the insurance company deal with this at my behalf. thanks for your answers
  19. ok, maybe a stupid question and this would be a absolutely disaster to do in my homecountry, but perhaps its different here I need to change/re-register my car for a new province and get new plates. car already been unregistered in old province, the car finance did that when i paid out the load (dont ask why, something about i paid the full amount in another province than the original papers where signed) I dont have the energy and/or understand what i actually have to do, not only i need new insurance, road tax, properly car inspected and tons of other stuff i have no idea about. insurance company offered me to do it, they need the car/blue book/copy passport and a couple of passport photos, tells me it will be done same day. its a official office (not an agent) of one of the bigger companies (properly the biggest car insurance) But, my gut feeling tells me this is unsafe (it would be back home).. will they with these papers etc. be able to re-register/change ownership on the car even though im not there, or is this normal practice around here, if someone is not able to do these things and have other people do it on their behalf? please advice if you have any actual knowledge about this (not just gut feelings, because i do have those already, hence this post) ???? thanks in advance.
  20. Thank you so very very much.. this is easy to understand and exactly what i was looking for.. Much appreciated.
  21. yes, and thats my worry as well.. as far as i could tell cigna thailand was a part of this "scheme" but doubt they will sign anything if our policies are with the cigna global/int.. its all both confusing and frustrating
  22. Oh, i plan to get a retirement visa, but currently im on visa exempt since many years and extensions due to medical reasons and then covid extensions. I plan to leave thailand and come back in a few months and get a retirement 50+ extension.. sorry if my information was confusion, its all very confusing to me. not sure how to answer this correct, because i still dont even understand how to get the retirement extension
  23. Hi. im planning to leave Thailand soon and hopefully return in a few months time.. I have Cigna international, but no outpatient.. I'm trying to figure out what they need and how to proceed, and/or if i need to change my policy to include outpatient as well. At this link: https://longstay.tgia.org/guidelineoa it states that a non o needs 100k usd coverage and 400k inpatient/40k outpatient at renewal.. and also the form they link to, only ask for the insured total sum and not in/out patient amounts. what is the truth here? what do i do? p.s. Did anyone with Cigna international have any luck of getting them to sign those forms (i didnt try, but feel this might be an issue as well) added info: im 51, plan to return and get a retirement visa, still trying to figure out of the process for that, but thats the plan thanks for any info.. im very confused ????
