  1. I like cats because they are aloof, independent and pretty. A bit like me..... :)

Girls are cats and men are dogs?

I'm embaressed to say this, but when I was young I thought cats were the female version of dogs. Actually I read alot of children think the same so maybe I'm not so embarressed.

On a semi-related note I also used to think that people would sit in the contrails of the planes, and that the lenght of the contrails tells you how many people are on that plane ;-)

    Anybody thought the same?

    Er, no!

  2. If you get rid of the parking areas, you get rid of the local islanders/tourists. You're not suggesting, I hope, the use of public transport????????? :D

No, there is a few areas where you can park bike/car, use them instead of parking anywhere. Like it says no parking on one side of the road, but drinkers & shopkeepers must park outside their favourite pub , shop, can't just park down the road & walk back.

    Most culprits, islanders & expats.

Most culprits, islanders & expats. Agree 100 percent.

Maybe I am being a bit slow here, so you are probably right, but ....

If you take out the islanders and expats, then who is left? :)

    Tourists?

  3. The 'freshness' of the eggs is really the key here and yes, a really slow simmer. If you can't guarantee the freshness, scramble instead! :D

get outta here tiggs...yew ever tried to clean up the saucepan that the brits use to cook 'scrambled eggs'?...don't occur to them to use a griddle or frying pan like most folks... :)

I use a frying pan for my scrambled eggs. People say I make the best scrambled eggs ever!

  4. Lots of good and lots of bad in Thailand. I came back to Canada and only found BAD. Phony people with PC faces who are often worse than anything I saw in ten years in Thailand. Mega rules, mega fines for stupid things like jaywalking, mega prices and costs. You expect some shenanigans in Thailand, but not here. Complain softly -- you guys have the good life! :)

Where abouts in Canada are you BBQ?

  5. This is not a thread about 'worth' but about 'values'. I will pick up anything. There are too many people starving in this world. It's respect for money, it's respect for values. I remember once a friend of mine actually tossed away a handful of coins (GBP pence) and I picked them up much to his surprise. My point was why not put them in some charity collection (and frankly add to them) rather than dispose of them in such a way.
