  1. Hi folks, I am a bit confused, there used to be, (many moons ago) lots of info on the VFS site, not now.  You used to walk in to VFS with page after page filled out, I see no reference to it on the link below. Looks like VFS is a biometric collection place now, is that all they do?  On the link below, no info re tourist visa for a Thai to Oz.  So what do they do, where to start?

On the VFS site, they have "BUY SERVICES" and for 480baht Online Visa Services, which they describe below in this post, (for reference for people reading this years later !)

    https://visa.vfsglobal.com/tha/en/aus/apply-visa

Do Thai need a medical to go to Oz for a tourist visa now ? Insurance I get, but a medical for tourist? (Surely that a misinterpretation of what I read).

    Thanks, where does one start?

  2. As on Monday 11 Oct 2021, in Australia, for the immune compromised, well it list very detailed, only people on Chemo (or recently), Organ Transplant in the last 4 years, Renal Dialysis and some very rare auto immune conditions, to get 3 initial shots, those who got AZ, the 3rd must be Pfizer or Moderna, and the others must get Pfizer. (3 to be the same, Moderna has not been here long enough at this stage for these folks to be 2 shots up yet.  Basically for simplicity I believe. )      In 9 months time, your AZ will be around half as effective as 3 weeks after your 2nd AZ shot, I would go it personally, but I suggest you seek highly qualified professional advice.

  3. Apparently with the Gov Hospitals they are being rationed, and requiring only 15 per months at 150b each.

Do you have a link to the cheaper Chinese ones please. Are they heaps more difficult?

Thinking of getting some for a inlaw to try and get some delivered  bi-monthly.

  4. Subject kind of says it all !

We have decided to permanently live out of LOS and just visit after Covid. A vacant block my wife owns she wants to get rid of and it would pay towards a place in farang land pretty much.

She whacked a ad up recently, (it's for a Thai market) and had a lot of interest, looks like it will sell.

Chanote is with her in Farang Land, while getting to Thailand is not that hard, returning will be a nightmare.

I read about a decade ago that there was a way to do the paperwork with a Rep (friend/family) on your behalf.

Can get to a Thai Consolute here, but not the Embassy due covid quarantines.

    Thanks.

  5. In Krabi !!!!  I thought people traveled to Thailand for Medical stuff.

Family and friends are reaching out for help to bring home an Australian woman who remains in a Thai hospital 10 days after a motorcycle accident that left her fighting for life and struggling to pay thousands of dollars in medical bills.  Continued below.

  6. Am I correct in assuming you need to get your Thai partner a Thai police clearance certificate? Myself and my Thai misses are in the process of doing exactly that right now. Because we are now in Oz she has to apply by post and has to get fingerprints done at the cop shop then get them authenticated at the DFAT office in Brisbane and then send them to the Thai Embassy in Canberra to be legalised and only then we can send them off to Thailand along with the other paperwork to apply for the certificate. They don't make it easy.

Well we done that a few months ago for my wife's Australian citizen ship application she did not need any

fingerprints done at the AFP they don't do that anymore, only for local purposes ( clearance for cleaners,

hospital work and so on).She had to get the clearance from Thailand which we did by mail I guess they

just send a copy of the last one which she did for some thing else .

Ok all I can say the AFP does not issue any police clearance anymore for visa related issues nor does the

local cop shop or the Thai embassy you need to get it from Thailand if you don't believe me ring up the

nearest embassy or AFP they will confirm this

People are mixing up clearance here, the AFP do still issue but for immigration to fokes for step children and the 10 year rule A$42, the OP is talking about something else, from Thai Police HQ.

To the OP, expect it to take several months, I am sure you know how to make it happen in a few days. Going rate is Thai 1500, farlang 2500.
