  1. Does this all mean that I cannot do a same day in and out at Poipet for my 2nd entry? (I have a double entry tourist visa).

If not, then how long must I stay in the other country before being allowed to come back in?

I am in a panick here. My stamp says I must leave by Nov 11 and I have to do my 2nd entry by Nov 12. Not sure what I should do here, but I need to figure it out fast.

You will have not problem doing an out/in crossing at Poi Pet now. Everything has been back to normal for some time now.

Good to hear that (Y) I hope Mae Sai is ok as well... I have to make my second entry today :)

  2. will this include a full investigation of WHY so many are being stopped, searched and drug tested by the police in the Asoke-Tong Lor area?

I was just about to ask the same ? Even yesterday night (23:30) I was driving my car Sukhumvit and I saw on my own eyes 2 police on motorbike stopped taxi with farang inside... http://www.wowasis.com/travelblog/?p=6098 and I don't know but I think sometimes that all those politicians who are talking about this whole "Thailand Picture blah blah blah" are living in some different universe...

  3. This barrage of hate towards Thai women is disgusting. They are the same as any country good and bad. There are so many brilliant women here who do not follow the money.

If you buy anything here you know the ultimate risk.

Yeah you are right !!! The ultimate risk is that you gonna get ripped of by Thai woman cheesy.gif And I agree that there is a lot brilliant woman who don't follow the money... around 25% of female population more less, which is really significant number if we take number of farangs in Thailand under consideration coffee1.gif But the problem is that around 85% of this woman will never be or even want to be in relationship with farang clap2.gif Good bless person who bring my wife on my path wai2.gifwai.gifbiggrin.png

  4. Often guys get ripped off by Thai females, this is in part because we can't own land and want to have a house. If the government really wanted to help foreigners (they dont) they would allow us to own land up to a 2 rai or so. This would make it easier to keep possessions in our name.

It will probably happen when hell freezes over.

If they wanted to help ... there first priority, and should be, is to Thais. Foreigners already helped drive property prices up despite regulations and they can always buy a condo ... just look at the prices of them around Bangkok which probably has a good deal to do with foreigners being allowed to purchase condos. I think at some point people need to take care of themselves when it comes to thinks like giving a girl money. Most guys who get ripped off would never do at home what the do here with women. I am not sure why they think it will have different results here. Certainly not saying this was the case with this fellow in the OP but when an older male marries a girl 1/2 their age or more, do the really think it is about a physical or personal attraction? Just like in the west, it is about a money and/or security and once that runs out so will the girl and chances are in the west you are going to have paid dearly too before and after it is over.

Nothing wrong with a man going out of his league but he just needs to be realistic and understand why the girl is in the relationship because it is not going to be the same reason as the guy in most all cases.

Written like a true 100% Kon Thai or maybe 50% Jeen and 50% Thai, I'm guessing. But anyway to your post. Yes, always best to blame the Farang for anything and everything you don't want to be honest with yourself about. Farangs are to blame for the high price of property, not Thai's, or Chinese/Thai's or Indian/Thai's only real Farang's are to blame. Shame on Farangs for buying condo's. The Thai Government should put an end to this abuse of and assault on their sovereignty. Farangs are to blame for the fall of the Baht, the coup, the crime in Phuket, and for the debauchery on Soi Cowboy, Farangs are to blame for coming here and committing suicide and constantly jumping off balcony's all by themselves. Farang's are even to blame for Global Warming and the Tsunami in Kho Pi Pi. In fact I bet if they could take a DNA sample from Shinawatra Thaksin they would find some Farang blood somewhere in his family linage. Wait! That's it! Thaksin, he has that suspicious "Jeen" blood in him. I bet if they looked closely they might fine some strains of DNA in him from Texas when he was studying at University. So you see it's quite clear all Thailand problems are caused by foreigners.. I commend you sir for your keen observations on Farang behavior. Especially your pointing out that this poor Nippon victim probably deserved what happened to him for "doing here what he would never do at home with a woman." Bravo! Very insightful and it even fits with your blame the Farang narrative.

    Absolutely 100% spot on wai2.gif

  5. EU are hypocrites, they promote so-called democracy (whatever that means), and then rely on China (which are communists) to produce their products, hardly qualified to mediate IMHO especially in Italy a country which is riddled with corruption.

Thailand is of course only concerned with Thais, hence no reason to interfere with other countries's internal policies, and hence have no enemies, but EU on-the-other-hand do. Perhaps EU should learn a lesson from the Thai book, instead of trying to preach on something they clearly do not understand the reason behind the coup when your own back yard is not in order.

There can be just one answer to this post:

  6. er massage, no, muay Thai, no (Khmere), the bar fine, no, pad Thai (chinese) morlam, no that's lao, phew not easy is it, Thai language YES. Even the national anthem was composed by a German.

The Thai anthem was composed a few days after the 1932 coup in the tune vaguely similar to the national anthem of Poland, "Poland Is Not Yet Lost", and was first broadcast in July 1932. clap2.gif

  7. They have more in common than the author thinks. At present both are run by the unelected unaccountable..

Whatever faults the EU has, and there are many it is largely run by the elected European Parliament. The other main body is the Council of the European Union which comprises ministers from the elected governments of the member nations. There are I think 5 other bodies which are overseen by the parliament. Not every post is elected which is the same in most governments . It's hard enough getting people to vote for the parliament let alone anything else.

Several people have claimed that Thais don't understand what the EU is and that's probably true but the same can be said for many Europeans. I have to admit my knowledge is rather limited but I do know enough to realise it isn't run by unelected bureaucrats.

Just to make it clear - the real power in EU holds only Council of the European Union (which is not elected by people) and elected body which is European Parliament have no real power nor authority...

  8. If you see a nutter driving a bi bike and 150 km ph then you obviously think - dangerous. If you see some young attractive girls walking around almost naked then do you not also think - dangerous. If not then your a fool.

Well... I don't know about you but when I see "young attractive girls walking around almost naked" I don't think - "dangerous"... I rather think - "beautiful" or "nice face, boobs, ass etc... maybe I will try to buy her a drink ;)"... If someone is thinking "dangerous" about girl like that then is definitely something wrong with him... To thinks "dangerous" is like thinking "she shouldn't wear like that because is just bad" and the same is acceptance that someone can hurt her just because what she is wearing !!! This way of thinking is not only foolish but is sick !!! If man can't keep his d...k in his pants he should stay in some facility for mentally ill... coffee1.gif

  9. Im glad that at least one source says that this was Jews from Poland not Polish citizen as most English sources due to political correctness says... Aaron Kosminski (Mordke) wasn't Polish from his family background (siblings of Aaron Mordke was named Pessa Elka, Hinde, Icek Szymche, Blimbe Laje), and they haven't been Polish citizens as there wasn't country such Poland between 1795-1918. They were Jews from family background.

  10. Perhaps there was some damage otherwise why would they have been so willing to come up with even 100 baht?

I realize that perhaps to Russians the notion of getting "arrested" by "police" is very real and scary as they come from a powerful police state and know that once in custody it can be hard to escape.

We can give benefit of doubt to the jet ski operators that there was damage,.. and perhaps the "anti" was raised by using the fear factor?

Seriously ??? After all what people says here about this scam and after so many cases when not only Russian were ripped of this is what you are thinking about this... ?

  11. You people sits safe behind your computers and making fun off people getting killed. Lets hope next time it´s not one from your families getting shot! Shame on you!!!

I'm after liberalism and liberty of choice... if someone is stupid enough to do stupid things and he will get killed in this process... well... one dumb person less on the planet which is actually very good for the rest of population... wai.gif

  12. ""If the soldiers are put under police command, it will be problematic," academic Panitan Wattanayagorn said. "I have never seen troops being placed under police [control]."

Police under police control is bad enough. They couldn't organise a pi$$up in a brewery,.. what chance is their in hoping they can give anything like co-ordinated and appropriate control to the army?

I hope for the best and fear the worst.

Someone please tap me on the shoulder when its OK to open my eyes again as I just can't stand to watch how this all unfolds!

I've never seen military troops under police command as well... and I'm from eastern Europe so I saw few thing in my life... as far as I remember always when army gets involved they just takes control of all operations and police forces are under their command... at least was like that in my country 13 of December 1981...

  13. Garbage comment. Switch on brain before opening mouth. I have seen not one thug at all during the whole time I have walked past protest carrying on my working life as normal. As are most. Do you contribute to Thailand's economy ? Do you pay taxes. So think before you speak please. It does yourself an injustice as a human being. You ahve either not been here, are not here or simply naive. Good luck with thinking more.

lets get these thugs off the streets and let the average citizen have his streets and access to government agencies. normal life needs to go on. The people has had enough of Suthep and his crowd of thugs.

How do you know he's not been there? Just asking

    I don't and nor did I suggest otherwise. Did I ?

    David I quoted gerry1011 :D

  14. Keep going Suthep, get together with all civic groups to talk about political reform- keep the politicians involved to an absolute minimum.

Hold another massive rally this Sunday.

And pray do tell us what Suthep is if he is not a POLITICIAN. A lifelong member of the "snouts in the trough" brigade, who now has the audacity to call Thaksin corrupt........if ever the pot called the kettle black!

Yup... My wife says today that Suthep is as corrupted as anyone else or worst... he stole already a lot of money as she say...
