  1. Unfortunately for the Euro..it's in a period of downturn...& worst case scenario ..is at the end!

    It's not just one reason...

I think it's too simplistic to blame the "lazy " Greeks but does make for a good argument around the table over a couple beers .....if one knows nothing of world politics & economics.

I would argue that the problems to the Euro are self induced..and now will see mass exit of the currency to US dollars or maybe even the Thai baht...further diminishing it's conversion value.

Now that the EU has introduced "quantitative easing" there is no way out.Fracturing within the European community will escalate.

Germany will be unhappy with the quantitative easing EU policy.

Greece this weekend will probably elect a anti austerity government that will probably default on it's EU loans.

The Swiss this past week unpegged their currency to the Euro.

The European banks are in serious problems & when one fails...many will go down together.

Sanctions against Russia following the foreign policy of the US was probably the nail on the head..and in return Russia put in place their own sanctions.

Supporting the "Nazis" fascist government in Ukraine in a coup last year against it's trade partnership with Russia was/is a colossal mistake.

It's almost laughable...if it wasn't so devastating to the population.

The Greek situation will destroy the EU on the fiscal side.

The Swiss unpegging will destroy the EU on the currency side.

The sanctions against Russia will destroy the EU on the economic side.

The "quantitative easing" will destroy the EU on the monetary side with German opposition...& maybe abandoning the EU altogether.

The war in the Ukraine will destroy the EU on the energy side.

So yeah the Thai economy & Thai baht look quite stable to me compared to the Euro.

Don't forget the Dutch! They are very unhappy with the "quantitative easing" too!!

  2. Most people strive, or at least talk about wanting to live longer and how to do it.

Eating better, exercise, not smoking or drinking.

But few think about the consequences of a longer life.

Discussing this with a doctor years ago he said,

"Yes all those things can help you live longer. How many extra years of wearing diapers and being a burden to your family do you want?"

How long do you really want to live?

Maybe we are better off living the life we enjoy while we are still really living??

Hope I die before I get old. "The Who"

  3. All you condemning the man......let's see what are you going to do when you find out that your wife or girlfriend is cheating you.

    Come and cry on TVF?

God what a stupid remark Costa. No man own a woman and if a woman wants to cheat that does not give a guy the right to abuse her. He can end the relationship but that is it.

Guess plenty guys think they own their wife because they paid sin sod or something.. if she cheats.. its because your not interesting enough.. or the love is gone.. or you never were good enough and it was only for money.

Thing is you cant force them to stay or abuse them, its a free country only insecure males resort to violence.

    +1 robblok,

Loving someone, should mean that we can accept that this person will think, feel, and act

in a way that is not in accordance with our own desires, not in accordance with our own

means of gratification,to accept that this person will live in accordance with his or her

    own means of gratification....

Unfortunately, the cultural teachings through the milleniums has centered the feeling of love

to a feeling of possession, of appropriation, of dependancy regarding the image that we

have created about the loved one, to the effect that anyone behaving in such a fashion

    would be considered as indifferent.

  4. I have been having visa extensions for marriage for years and years and years. We have been married for 11 years. My wife fills in all the paperwork - which is extensive. If you have official and original documentations, then I'm not sure why they would ask you ANY questions about your life together etc. It may be that the judge on appearances, I don't know. I have never in my life heard of any immigration official coming to the home of someone applying for a visa extension. It's usually done in 1 hour max, You go in - hand over the paperwork. They check to see that your housebook is in order, all the documentation is correct - originals submitted where asked for, and then they take your picture and then they hand it to someone else behind the desk, and you go back and sit down. You are then called, handed your passport, with your visa stamp and go on your merry way. I have never been asked a single question, and neither has my wife.

We do have 3 children ( and another one on the way) and we are obviously married. How long have you been married for? I honestly can say, as someone having gone through this process dozens of times, it's never once crossed my mind to be concerned. And in light of my own and valid experience, I don't think you should be concerned either, unless there is something that gives you cause for concern - ie - you aren't really married........

When we went for an extension based on marriage 4 months ago in Khon Kean , it al was very easy. Finished in 30 minutes. And then we must wait for 1 month to take the passport . But I think you make a mistake.

Extension based on marriage will be send to Bangkok. After 1 month you go back to the immigration office to take it.

4 Two witnesses, but they took them from the office. We

  6. A right old misery guts, as well as being overrated and boring. Much beloved of the 60's generation though.

I think you will find that yours is a minority view and a rather insensitive one for those who understand the towering intellectual and musical force he was to a generation seeking alternatives to mainstream thinking.

what did he do for his country apart from write a lot of miserable songs, some glorifying drug use. People like him are not 'heros' or 'legends' they are degenerates to be pitied.

Oh my word! Writing songs glorifying drugs? Why I do declare I'm getting the vapors reading about such sinful things! Such degenerates. I'm sure a righteous gentleman like yourself has contributed far more to society...

Why should he do it for his own country? He did it for me too, for the whole world! And yes his songs are beautiful and the lyrics are

    good. HE IS A Hero!!

  7. "Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, Lieutenant General Sunisa Lertpakkawat, stated that the Premier has instructed the Transport Ministry to look for ways to use rubber in road construction as another mean to help rubber planters."

Surely if this was possible and economically viable then it would have been done by now. Does she ever actually think about what she is saying or does she just make it up on the spot?

Adding rubber to asphalt, for road pavement has been done for over 30 years. It actually reduces road noise by 20% and increases the life span of the road it self by a good margin.

The rubber added to asphalt, is from ground up, used car and truck tires. Unless they make the same composition of rubber (as a tire) i dont think it will work.

There was a story in TVF a year or so ago about doing this here, but never heard another thing about it. If I recall, the price was totally outrageous, per kilometer.

I will try to find the article.

In Holland they use rubber in road construction already a very long time.
