I have arranged a karaoke party for the office this Friday but can only find Thai discs in the shops. Can anyone recommend where to buy English discs, or could I borrow some discs from someone for the night? Thanks!

Our pool has been fine for 2 years but now has developed a leak. On the advice of our usual pool guy, we are letting the water leak gradually, now it is near empty. We are no nearer knowing whether there is a leak in the concrete or pipes or something else. Does anyone know an expert who can help identify the problem and fix it?

Very ageist this thread. I am 53 and can drink 20 Jack Daniels without falling over. I am very humorous at such times and would no doubt be excellent company for a 20 year old girl. I also like curry.

May not be exactly 'custom' made but you could try S & P on the ground floor of Big C. They do have cakes to order and have a fairly large selection in their catalogue, including themed cakes for kid's birthdays - although not sure of their order times. Various flavours of sponge cake with butter cream decoration.

When I was walking around the beach to get in to the Temple area, to avoid the 200 baht guys, I saw this... .... I did not need it!
Kind of surprised to see it being sold though Reminds me of dentists, in the days before Nova-cane
Yes - and the dentist had to have a qualified assistant in case anything went wrong
Worrying if it is being sold 'over the counter'.
The laughing gas is also sold on Soi Green Mango. I saw one girl take a shot and she nearly collapsed. She wasn't laughing much.

Although our Yamaha system works fine inside, we can't get it to work in our outside speakers (which have rusted up and may need new ones). Anyone recommend someone who can do a house call and advise/repair?

Bon was a great guy and will be sadly missed.

Oh my God. Was supposed to be laying cricket with him today.I can't believe it. One of the nicest blokes in Samui.

Which area Major Major? I live quite near the beach close to central Maenam but did not here anything excessive last night and i was out on my balcony pretty late
Say 200 metros from old pier/Walking Street , left as you are looking at sea, about 50 metres from Sea One restaurant.

Last night slap bang in the middle of Maenam beach, a new bar opened playing loud "rave" music till 3am. The bar is surrounded by residential houses. They cannot possibly have a license for this. It totally destroys the peace and serenity of the beach. This is not Chaweng. Did anyone else hear it and inconvenienced by it? I will be making a complaint but the more objectors the better. I have no idea how often they intend to do this but one more time is bad enough. I fear the worst as they have set up tables and chairs outside their bar. Nobody in the immediate area could have got any sleep until it stopped. I believe it is Thai owned so as a faring I didn't want to address the issue with them directly last night for obvious reasons.

I knew Dan when he lived in Samui. He played guitar for my rock band. He was friendly and generous with his time for a crappy guitarist like me, and played our very first gig. He married the chief clerk who opened my office with me 6 years ago and left for Phuket 3 years ago. They both came back to see us last week, and seemed very happy. He spoke very good Thai. It is a total shock to us all. RIP Dan.

I know there is a dedicated thread for this on the main site but we need a local one.
As people may now know, True cannot show the Euros. We face blank screens.Thai channels via True will be blanked.
Does anyone know where you can buy a GMM box in Samui? (GMM having won the rights to the Euros)? Does it work if plugged into the True box (some say yes, others no on main site).

So the article said you can watch on mobile phone with an AIS sim card. Will this also work on the iPad 2 which takes such cards?

I am pleased to say Foxy has won a reprieve. Our pleas to the hotel have been heard and she is back on a trial period! Thanks to the hotel for their understanding.
Shaggy needs a home
in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao
Posted
We call this dog Shaggy. It has been living alone in the middle of Soi 3 Maenam for a few weeks outside our house. Lies in middle of road all day. How it hasn't been flattened, I don't know. Took to vets on Tuesday to be spayed . Vet estimates 18 months old. Treated her many cuts before strong enough for the op. Now cleaned up and ready to leave vets. Only 5 kilos! Our 3 dogs would not allow us to keep her, so we would most reluctantly have to put her back in her dangerous world. Unless.....cute adorable and so gentle. Let me know please someone if you can take her..
