  1. So, in a country with a population of approx 66.7million, if he is lucky to get 1 million (.015%), he thinks he speaks for the "majority" of the Thai people?

Gotta love Thai logic and "new math". coffee1.gif

If in a country of 66.7 Million people, spread over an area of 514.000 sq kilometer, you can encourage 1 million people to travel to a certain place for a protest, you can say they represent a majority

    No you can't.

    Of course you can

  2. This guy seriously needs his head read if he thinks "a reform period" under a "neutral Prime Minister" (i.e. Suthep's demands) will bring stability to the country. More like civil war.

The country will never be stable as long as armed thugs can shut down elections with the blessing of the courts and the military.

The only way for Thailand to become stable anytime soon is for the yellows to respect democracy, allow elections, and respect the results. If they lose (which is likely) then they need to either suck s!*t and accept being in opposition, or take a good hard look at themselves and change their platform to something that the majority of Thai people actually want.

As I imagine that though, I also mentally hear the sound of pigs flapping their wings, which is why I predict that the troubles (and associated economic stagnation) will continue throughout this year and the next.

hear the sound of pigs flapping their wings

    I like that. laugh.png

about the rest I am not sure

  3. So the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Board of Trade is on board with reforms before elections and the Govt "stepping down". Very interesting. Are they in PDRC/Dem/Anti-Govt's pockets too? What do you think fab4?

"Are they in PDRC/Dem/Anti-Govt's pockets too?"

You do not need to be in PDRC/Dem/Anti-Govt's pockets.

It is enough to have common sense and to be watching the government clearly

  4. Yingluck is a woman on a mission. She is on a mission to discredit the NACC. She is on a mission to stir up hatred among her UDD supporters for the NACC, and she does this fully conscious of all the grenade attacks that have targeted the NACC. It's unconscionable. For a woman who doesn't like to show up to anything, she does a pretty good job of being obnoxious in the face of facts in front of the media. For the hundredth time, the NACC did not take 21 days to charge her. How is the world has Pheu Thai invented this narrative and when will they ever let it go ? The NACC investigation began in December 2012. It has been a fifteen month investigation. She was warned that if she didn't show up a month ago that she would forfeit the full documentation. She was warned repeatedly. She knows that. Her lawyers know that. Guess what ? She didn't show up. What did the NACC do ? The NACC later bent their own rules and gave her the documents. And then in fact further supplemented those. She has been given ample opportunity to address the NACC. She has refused. In fact, she has spent her time admonishing the constitutionally empowered agency through the media every chance she's had. With all the grenade attacks on the NACC, what she is doing is unconscionable and provocative. Either she or her lawyers address the charges on Monday or it is assumed she accepts the findings. Period. It's time for Yingluck to act like the caretaker prime minister she claims to be and not to side and commiserate with those who wish to undermine the legal checks and balances of the independent agencies.

Isnt it time one catapult this stupid moron to the moon ???

If you are speaking about yourself then yes. Since you 'quoted' Scamper I assume you mean him, he is neither stupid nor a moron ( unlike some people ) - he is one of the few people on here who is usually spot on in his analysis. His posts are among the best on here. He is a credit to this forum and I wish there were a lot more like him and a lot less like you. Everything in the post you quoted is correct. If you disagree with it then why not try making a constructive argument rather than name calling ? Now go and find your catapult HOOD Robin and let us help you on your way to the moon....

I thought he was speaking about Yingluck

    (only that makes sense)

  5. The CAPO head yesterday made declarations to celebrate that the Red Shirts dismounted the Army-Checkpoint in front of the NACC, while he remained silent about the attack to the monk.

    CAPOhead.jpg

As far as I know, he is still silent about the Red Shirt weapons...

I will no longer refer to The UDD and the rest as red shirts, as far as I'm concerned that gives the legitimacy as a political organization, to me they are monk beaters, and that is what I will call them. They seem to think that expressing ones opinion is a crime against democracy. They prevent performers from plying their trade, they throw nuts, bolts, bottles, stones and bricks at Democratic party rallies, as well as trying to drown out the speakers with large sound trucks outside those rallies. They shoot from ambush, hurl grenades and pull politicians from cars and beat them, They Beat Monks. If you disagree with them, they will show you what democracy means in this country. They do not understand democracy or what it means, they do not understand free speech, what they understand is violence.

They do not understand democracy or what it means, they do not understand free speech, what they understand is violence

I am afraid you made some errors.

    it should be

They do not like democracy or what it means, they do not like free speech, what they like is violence

  6. I agree there should be a neutral PM, but no way can it be anyone who is picked by Suthep or the PTP, and no amnesty for those who are facing arrest warrants. Suthep is crazy if anyone thinks he is going to have any say in a new government.

Suthep is crazy if anyone thinks he is going to have any say in a new government.

    ???

Suthep is crazy if ANYONE ? thinks

    I am missing your logic

  7. So Nattawut is saying it's a done deal? He must have inside information from some source to name names like this? That puts Suthep in a class with the Supreme Leader of Iran and the Supreme Leader of North Korea. Suthep is a very dangerous man for Thailand. The Thai army should get him out of there.

Nattawut is probably getting his inside information from his buddy Jatuporn who works with US Intelligence sources. In February, 2012 Jatuporn publically proclaimed that members of his UDD and his associates who worked with the US Intelligence told him there could be a coup d'etat which could bring about a change of government in April.

You've said something that I've thought for a long time. That the US Govt is listening in on all sides in these troubles, and are undoubtedly passing on information to the pro-democracy government side.

    "pro-democracy government side" ??cheesy.gif.pagespeed.ce.HaOxm9--Zv.gifcheesy.gif.pagespeed.ce.HaOxm9--Zv.gifcheesy.gif.pagespeed.ce.HaOxm9--Zv.gif

That would put Suthep in a class with the Supreme Leader of Iran and the Supreme Leader of North Korea

and the supreme leader in Dubai

  9. <script type='text/javascript'>window.mod_pagespeed_start = Number(new Date());</script>

”A second key event is that leaders of Pheu Thai's red-shirt supporters plan a "closed-doors meeting" on that day to discuss plans for a mass red-shirt rally in Bangkok on April 5.”

    JUST REMEMBER

    1. Do not beat up our monks, they are Buddha’s messengers. We respect them.
    2. Do not intimidate or harass our children if they oppose you. We love them.
    3. Do not burn our work places. We need to work because we love our families.
    4. Do not form gangs and loot the shops.

    5. Don't kill children with grenades.

    6. Do not use grenades and do not even own them

  10. The Thais alone can not handle this crisis. Even the 'invisible hands' are divided. Thailand needs help from outside. They have to realise this sooner or later. I guess much later...

I agree... but they have refused outside help and monitors - to have an election run by 'outsiders' maybe just what is needed to ensure all sides respect the outcome

but when asked about Election Monitors:

Suthep: "I don't respect 'farangs'. We

do not have to surrender to them"

Suthep: "I don't respect 'farangs'. We

do not have to surrender to them"

Can you please give me the the source where this comes from (whole article or speech transcript)?

I really want to know, because it can help me to improve my judgement. I am not asking in order to make you wrong.

    Thank you very much

  11. Thanks for all the support and advice! I was warned about Thai women, when I told a friend I was becoming involved with a Thai lady.

I will still travel to Thailand in April, as the flights are already booked and paid for. But I'm unsure whether or not to travel north, to try to find her. It may well be a complete waste of time. (and money)

I don't understand why her phone is turned off, it goes straight to voicemail, that means no one else can contact her??

OK, time for me to "man up", whats the district of Bangkock where the best night life is, I'll look for a hotel there and have some fun! I'll send her an email when I'm there, it's up to her then.

Once again, thanks. (and no, I'm not a troll, I have sent cards to that address and she has recieved them. I purposely didn't mention her house number and street name)

"I don't understand why her phone is turned off, it goes straight to voicemail, that means no one else can contact her??"

I think it has been mentioned already, the answer is that many women who have more than one sponsor also have more than one phone.

  12. " As a result, the Army had to relocate the checkpoint from the spot"

An useless police force and an army that let their bunkers be overrun by Redshirt terrorists, and this we pay taxes for!

How many unarmed soldiers do you think would have been at the check point ? 4 or 5 at the most.

How do you expect them to stop a mob of red thugs who turn up ?

They were right to move away and let the thugs have the bunker, if they hadn't they would have undoubtedly been beaten up and possibly killed.

These types have already shown they are ready to bash anyone who they think might oppose them, even monks.

This is just another provocation in Thaksins desperate moves to get the army to stage a coup.

they have radio and should be prepared for assaults of the terrorists.

Are they not allowed to fire in self defense? Do they not have automatic weapons? I guess they are confiscated now

    edited for typo correction

  13. "Mr Suthep also said that the PDRC planned what could be the biggest ever demonstration of the people on March 29 to show Ms Yingluck that the majority of the people do not want election unless reform takes place first."

If the majority of Thai people wanted to be ruled by a group pushing a yellow agenda, then wouldn't the simplest thing be to push for an election as soon as possible?

The fact that the "Democrats" are boycotting elections and that Suthep is trying to shut them down suggests to me that even they themselves know the majority of Thai people aren't on board with their plans to install dictatorship.

Sent from my IS11T using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

    "install dictatorship"? (ridiculous)

    proof?

and what is a yellow agenda?

  14. It just came to my mind that some years ago I read a book about understanding Thai women and their behaviour. If you are interested in this or maybe other Thai women I highly recommend this to you. The title is Thailand Fever.

Usually you have to be careful with women in bars and women from Isan. (I am not saying some of them might be sincere, too)

  15. Seems you are a good guy and I wish you good luck. I am living in Thailand and I am married with a goood woman since 2005. I agree with most of the posters here.

There is a high likelihood that she is not honest. But it cannot be excluded that she is and something happened to her. Difficult to find out from what you know.

In this thread the subject of money has been mentioned only randomly. Money is a big indicator evaluating sincerity of Thai women.

Did she ask for money? Are you paying her monthly? Did she ask for more? Did she ask for gifts or money needed for some emergency situation? Are you telling her you don't have much money? Be also prepared that she is planning to ask you for a large sum for paying the "hospital bill". In this case find some Thai person (maybe a wive of one of the posters here) who can find out the truth.

  16. As one of Thailand's most notoriously corrupt politicians I guess he knows a thing or two about it.

If this is true, than he will have a clue how to end corruption. It is not important what he did (or is blamed for) in the past.

What he does now is what counts.

BTW I think PTP, Yingluck and their cronies know at least much more
