We know he is corrupt but he is not out to kill anyone and he wants to keep the country in one piece. So he would be an improvement on what we have now.
We know he might have been corrupt. We don't know if he is still. I do not care so much ...
because he is not out to kill anyone and he wants to keep the country in one piece.
Following his campaign the politicians that come after the present government would be an improvement on what we have now.
(he said he is not interested in being a government member again)
He woke up the political understanding and power of the people.

Everyone has a right to hold a rally lets just hope it doesn't go on for months like some others have been doing.
you mean the "peaceful democratic" redshirts in 2010 ?
-
No one disagrees, but we are dealing with today, and unfortunately not yesterday...
So the people. Being held illegally and tortured by the PDRC doesn't rate a mention here. Both sides are to blame singling out supposed perps doesnt help and now the next comment will be the Army is not doing its job as the RTP are not allowed near the site. When will everyone wake up, including us on TV begs the question and seriously think objectively a out these heinous acts?Red sympathizers here are just pathetic. Someone gets hurt in a blast and they blame the protestors. No one gets hurt in a blast and they blame the protestors. Red shirts want to secede and they blame the protestors. Toilet doesn't flush and they blame the protestors.
A pattern seems to be forming here!

Prevention better than cure.
Sorry again to put the point forward, BUT had the said ELECTED government governed cleanly, as per promised , and sworn in to do, without taking more than their own wages for the position held, No protests would have taken place as there would have been no need.
Leaving out Suthep--Dems Yellows, no excuses, self greed, with a dictatorial attitude has brought upon this turmoil.

You are right, but it is easily forgotten what (yesterday) caused the events of today. Some people might even like this and just blame one side, forgetting that it rightfully REacted.
Steel an apple, get caught and blame the one who caught you.

I feel sorry for the injuries this man got and wish him well. But -
who knows who is telling the truth ?
And I am not surprised by the guards being alert and using force when being attacked or something happens that looks like an attack. In those situations there is no time to consider. Better shoot first than be shot.
There is a reason for this. All the attacks on the peaceful protestors. Grenade attacks every night. Shooting and killing on a regular base.
Without these attacks security would not be necessary and this would not have happened.
Always keep in mind the violence came from the red shirts side first and guess - who are the unknown grenade attackers and shooters. It is a joke talking of a third party.
Clearly it is solely this group of violent undemocratic thugs that has to be accused - not only for this but for all the violence.

This is nothing specific about this article and it does not say that this article is paid for.
Look at the wording. Its an amendment to the terms of use.
Asking for help in identifying articles that are paid for.
Even when I open an article about matchboxes I will see that:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matchbox
WiKi is fighting for quite a while against "paid" articles.
It refers mostly to manipulation by commercial interest groups (companies, organisations) to get rid of critical content.
Phamaceutical industry seems to be most busy to pay authors to "tidy up" articles.
To me this looks like a severe strike against the WiKi idea.
a severe strike against the WiKi idea.
I think so, too
Did anybody read the article about P.?
Is it correct? Not omitting important facts?
If so, I would not suspect manipulation
-
I think the OP is talking about this
exactly, unfortunately it appeared only the first time I opened that article.
I think the quality of the English is not bad. Did anybody read?
-
When I read about the man who blowed the whistle to Potjaman I remembered that she had been convicted to prison.
But I never heard about her being in prison. So I checked Wikipedia. When opening the article about her a window popped up that said something like
there is a suspicion that the article had been paid for. I wonder if the content is reliable. Can anybody check and help?

Sounds like they should set up a political party and put some policies together. Thailands democracy deserves a better opposition than the democrats, who are the worst political party in thai history.
worst political party in thai history.
You forgot PTP and its predecessors like thai rak thai

Now would be time for a police crackdown.
But as police is not on the side of democracy
The military is the last straw.
They have to step in asap

This place is insane. Surely the government can hire and fire these appointed positions as they see fit. Abhisit copped one of these ridiculous verdicts himself in the last few days. He was ordered to re-instate a police officer he fired years ago. How the hell can he do what is asked of him by the idiotic court - remember Abhisit is currently unemployed himself. Loopy indeed.
now, now, take a deep breath and relax, my dear unreason.
For one the government cannot just fire or appoint these high level bureaucrats like the National Security Chief. The people are selected, have the qualifications and good reasons have to be forthcoming for their possible move upwards to an inactive position or even dismissal.
At least in this case and as lots of posters here seem to 'know' we still have a PM, so the SAC can order the PM to re-instate the NSC. The order to Abhisit to reappoint the National Police Chief is still a puzzling one though.
'selected' by whom dear Rubl? this guy has been on many PDRC stages voicing support for his fascist dear leader - now the 'unbiased' courts give him his 'selected' job back as SECURITY chief? I call it bizarre!
can you imagine USA security chief or any country security chief on the stage of a movement to overthrow an elected government still in his job??? you don't think an elected Pm or president can fire him? absurd
an elected government
what about replacing with "elected but not democratically acting government"
-
Again another mystery attack on a PDRC supporterl in an empty area with no one hurt and a little damage but great propaganda value!
To many no victim attacks with no one hurt and very little damage, makes one wonder, who really is responsible!
Cheers
Too many victim attacks (even it were only one). Ask the question cui bono? What's the motive? Who gets advantage from the attacks?
Protestors were intimidated and there number diminished, Advantage for whom? Protestors were killed - Advantage for whom? Who applauded?
Nobody taking responsibility. A third party invented (man in black - red shirts in black?)
I would not be surprised at all if those attackers, red or black are coming from the same origin fighting for the same purpose..
I really wonder why nobody else seems to be drawn to this logic

QUOTE:
"... it (the hospital) also treated other patients who have different ideology with the PDRC equally without bias.
The 400-bed hospital director was seen on many occasions trying to persuade police from using force against the protesters when they came to evacuate protesters led by Luang. Poo Buddha-issara blockading the Government Center Complex on Chaengwattana road."
Without bias... ???
Can anybody expect a hospital run by a director who is publicly advocating in favor of protesters to treat anyone, regardless of obvious political affiliation, without bias?
Of course that the Abhisittards and Suthepistas will flame me on the basis of "principles". Please, cite facts without taking the issue ad hominem or using Sophistry.
The truth is more obvious that the denial of facts: Doctors, lawyers, judges, and other "educated" people in Bangkok are, or want to be, part of the Ammart (Bangkok elite).
All one needs to do to earn their support and graces is to show willingness to want
revengeoppose the Thaksin regime. However, the 63 million plus of Thais in the country are not part of the educated Ammart in Bangkok. Those uneducated Thais are the backbone of Thailand's economy.
Why have the Democrats failed to connect for the better part of 20 years with the vast majority of the uneducated in the country?
Why after the 2006 coup the Democrats did not promote better health care and education for all (in special to farmers and peasants), open public libraries to anyone seeking more knowledge and thus educate the farmers, the humble people in the hinterlands?
Because an Ammart is an Ammart and to them, Bangkok IS Thailand.
Can anybody expect a hospital run by a director who is publicly advocating in favor of protesters to treat anyone, regardless of obvious political affiliation, without bias?
Yes that's what can be expected from normal people with healthy ethics, in particular from medical personal. Have you ever heard that in war the medical staff always treats wounded enemies without bias.
I can only image evil or stupid people thinking like you. And red shirts, of course

They are whingers. Won't contest elections but seize power every time to get in Parliament. Is this fair to the people of Thailand? Bunch of greed merchants the lot of them PDD included. Makes me sick to see Democratic princibles circumnavigated in such ways. You won't last Dems if you do get in power, just like in 2010, the people will revolt again and so they should. Tis not democracy, but a bunch of muppets...
Sent from my i-mobile i-STYLE 8.2 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app
Rubbish.... You know the Dems would piss any election if they participated.
They would have won the last one by a mile and some.
PTP 8 million votes? I bet that has almost halved since Feb 2nd.
The Dems abstained out of principle, but if they have to come in as interim government until a new election can be set up, then that will not exactly be a case of stealing government will it?
They would probably set up the next election to remove populism and vote buying... which is true democratic election standards, not the old election standards where vote buying and populism was acceptable.
We will see who wins the next proper election because the Feb 2nd one has been a failure, even without the disruptions by PCAD.... If they ever bother to complete them, it will show a massive NO MANDATE for the winners, and parliament will never be able to get a quorum.
No one from any party should be in the interim government.
It should be made up of neutral people selected by whomever can do such a thing and is deemed constitutional.
Is that not what Suthep said all the time?
-
Suthep must have known the truth when he was spreading the lies about this.
If there is anybody trying to split the country it is Suthep. He wants his undemocrstic south and Bangkok to have his people's council, the rest of the country wants a democrstic government.
You are right.
He was seen posting the separation banners for the Lanna republic.
Red shirts tried hard to hold him back.
And it was him in disguise on the red shirt stage hailing the death of the children.
Red shirts so misunderstood and wrongly accused all the time.

he should have used 10 Billion Dollar Bills.

brainless or just limitless evil - or both
every red shirt follower should be deeply ashamed about this

Now this is just cruel. Suthep is a seasoned, tough politician and Madam Yingluck, even with almost three years at the top of government is a novice. She will be crying within five minutes; hopelessly out-debated. Now, it you want a fair and exciting debate, have Pol. Capt. Chalerm proxy for Ms Yingluck. Just make sure the debate is not too late in the day because of 'ear medicine'.
If she is the (caretaker) PM it is her and only her duty to represent the government (not only) in a discussion
If she is incapable of that she should not be (caretaker) PM in the first place

I for one condemn the use of violence. And I'm brave enough to say it. There you go. Next...It would be very refreshing if our resident PTP defenders on TVF could just come clean and condemn disgusting behaviour by the reds. But no, always excuses, blame it on others, name calling, it didn't happen, it was "false flag" attack etc.
They really come closer and closer to become Thai Rouge. Some seem to be just that.

I don't think the Gestapo of the 1930's -1945 were the cheering types, they were the secret police, and tended to keep it that way.
Stop watching too many Holywood movies, making comparisons to Thailand now and Nazi Germany in the 1930's is just plain stupid!!
So far about Gestapo.
But what about SA and SS? The infamous thugs with the skull on their uniform. The violent thugs who threatened, intimidated and killed people with another oppinion, people whom their Fuehrer did not like? The thugs who burnt down houses.
They were the cheering types, when they marched through the streets decent people closed their doors and windows.
The Gestapo came later, when the Fuhrer was in power already. They came in the very early morning and arrested innocent people.
I do not want to make comparisons, but this just comes to my mind.

Another non-violent protester ??? Except from the two Glock's and ammunition.
So you say, having a gun in order to defend means being violent? In particular when the need for defence is highly ovious, isn't it?

No I haven't. With all the bombings and killings, I'm glad at least someone in the military is there protecting the protestors.
Well at least you are being honest in your contempt for a civilian government. You have made clear that you support the Thai military's conflict of interest and of its taking sides in a political matter. A professional military does not meddle in this manner. Nor does it take up arms against a civilian government acting in a lawful manner. As a reminder, the lower court upheld the SOE which included the dispersal of the squatters,
As a reminder, the lower court upheld the SOE which included the dispersal of the squatters, ??
As far as I know dispersal was excluded

"She expressed condolences to the families of victims and those injured in the violent incidents and said police were ordered to find the culprits.
Ms Yingluck visited an OTOP (One Tambon One Product) shopping complex in Saraburi today only to encounter a protest by PDRC supporters who verbally attacked her using a loudspeaker. She left the scene after a brief visit."
Reads as: "Sorry 'bout that, I'm going shopping now". **Smile Wave Smile Wave**
Does it really read as that? Instead of wasting bandwidth why don't you come up with a solution to Thailand's problems instead of writing silly unfounded comments
That goes for most of the TV posters who like to air their views, not one has come up with a sensible solution since these political problems have started
Well said - So
Where is YOUR sensible solution ?

Suthep tells supporters to be on standby for mass gathering

So it's ok for you to go protest and block building and tell people to leave work and support you,
but when the other side burns, bombs and intimidates, (as they are well known for) it's not Ok.
