At the end of May my grand daughter is going to Bangkok to do a three month internship in Yanhee Hospital, near Bang O station on the Blue Line Bang Phlat district. She will need a room near the hospital without food which she can get at the hospital. She originally intended to share with a friend but that has fallen through, so we are looking for a cheap room for a single woman in her early twenties. Are there any members living near there who can offer advice?

I am using Firefox on Linux Mint 20. Yesterday, Firefox installed a new version automatically (as I have it programmed to do) but the new version has eliminated the AD Blocker. All the free Ad Blockers I can find for Firefox come from subscription VPNs. I want a simple AD Blocker such as the one that used to come with the old version of Firefox. Advice please.

In June, 16 year old granddaughter is going on a school excursion to London. Accommodation will be in a college dormitory and food and trips paid in advance. I have promised to give her spending money. I am out of touch with UK costs especially London. Request recommendations on how much per diem to give her.

Go out the old Lamphun road, At the traffic lights just past the 89 Plaza, turn left, go past the Police Station and about 100 metres on the left is a good second hand shop with mainly Japanese imports at reasonable prices. It is open in the evenings and Saturday and Sunday. Staff do not speak much English, but the telephone number is 0896374922. I bought one there 6 years ago and it is still going well.

Thank you PiB that is the type of information I am fishing for, but I would like more. Additional information, my grand niece is totally ignorant of mechanicals and has been conned twice. The first time, the charge warning light came on and I looked and saw that the fan belt was missing, so I sent her to have it replaced. The garage said no, you need a new alternator, so she forked out almost ฿10,000 for a new alternator. The second time , the brake warning light came on and I spotted that the brake fluid level was low. While I was away looking for brake fluid, she took the car to a garage which replaced all the discs and pads but not the fluid. I replaced the fluid for her, it was filthy and had obviously been in the system since the car was new. She has learned to trust me more than dealers and garages, hence the reason I an looking for information on a subject that I,as yet, know very little about. Please keep relevant comments coming.

A Thai relative is contemplating replacing her nearly 20 years old Toyota with a new Chinese made Electric car. I have advised caution because of the lack of information on how long they last. They have only been on the road in Thailand for just over 2 years. Has any member experience of them and can advise me further?

A family friend is a talented self-taught artist. She has decorated our house walls with painted flowers including the Thai National Flower, the Lotus. This set me thinking. Is there a flower for the old Lanna kingdom in the same way that the individual UK countries each have their own National Flowers?
