Thailand, regardless of it's reputation has two things going for it ..
1. Everyone want to come here at least once ..and there are a lot of Chinese !!
2. Alternatives are not good ..Cambodia, Mayamar, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam ..good place to visit but hasn''t got that 'rose tinted glasses' appeal of Phuket ..Chiang Mai etc.
My 2 daughters (mid 20s from the UK) visited the usual tourist spots ..they have expressed no interest in coming back ..

If u were a manufacturer you would head to Indonesia as currency not tied to $ ..forget about Thai and the Philippines ..

While Thailand tie the Baht to the US$ ..at a fixed rate of 31,5/32.5 to 1$ ...with a strong dollar right now all exports are expensive ...
Need to free up the currency and find a level where manufacturers can export and manufacturers want to invest in Thailand.

I'm aware of serious intimidation and harrassement by the police and military on the Cambodian border markets ..sometimes up to 100 turn up and now stall holders are just shutting up shop .. They are using the counterfeit goods as the reason for the 'raids'
This is now happening on a weekly basis ..these people have nothing .. lucky to earn 400/500 baht a day ..

Sorry went a bit off topic ...but get a little excited when I hear someone want to buy an Apple as I recently spent 10 days traveling with a guy with an Apple 6plus and go fed up with him asking will my phone do that??

Could go on about the Apple watch that needs charging twice in one day ..but go ahead and tie yourself into Apple and iTunes and IOS operating system and enjoy ... well until u realize the limitations ...

Best spec phone for a great price is the new AIS Lava Pro 5" ..@4790 .. And u can use a 32gb SD card which is not possible with any Apple phone .. Also if you want a stylus pen and USB connectivity ..Apple neither ..then it is a Samsung Note 3 or latest 4 ..

If u want to buy a seriously over priced 'look what I've got' phone why do you need insurance ..clearly u have more money than sense ..

Up at 8 ..15/20 min exercise ..play with 3 dogs ..breakfast ..listen to the BBC radio on the net ..check emails ..messages ..football results ..US stock market et.
A bit of domestic ..gardening, washing etc.
Lunch and at 3.15 ..UK Stock a market open ..Maybe buy/sell whatever ..check out the business news ..exchange rates etc.
Out for a Cappuccino ..
BigC ..Makro for food ..or plan to eat out ..
Talk with neighbours ..
The one thing I would like to do is at least one a week is go and see a movie ..but good old Thailand ..where I live ..clearly is anti English language so No film is in the original soundtrack ... why has Thailand have such a bad attitude to English language ? ..

I solved the problem ..I flew London (Gatwick) -Bangkok with Ukrainian airlines .. Stop off at Kiev No complaints. .

In October flew with Ukrainian Airlines ..Gatwick ..Kiev ..Bangkok (rtn)...21000BT ...and good service ..
Will always opt for a stopover ..12/13 hours flying is painful ..

I had a bit of a stand off with Asia Hotel in BKK when they wanted me to pay ..It wasn't clear on the website so I said cancel the booking ..They gave in and gave me a wifi voucher ..I've left hotels before when they say wifi not free ..

Have been many times and heading their again on Jan 13 ..One issue immediately is it is very difficult to plan a trip because of the weather ..so when I arrive check 5/10 forecast and then plan ..wonderful place if you get it right ..
Poverty big issue ..because 90+% been very 'strong' catholics I'd estimate they have 20 million too many people ..
Example ..spoke to a guy who was 1 of 9 ..those 9 now have 43 children ..because of the high quality of English (ok American) very high level of migration ..nurses etc.
Popular with Korean tourists ..easy trip away from their winter ..

No one should be allowed to use a laptop in a bar or coffee shop - remember it's a bar or coffee shop not a bloody library..they grab all the bandwidth watching endless youtube sh*te and the likes ..then complain if a number of mobile users logon saying the system is slow ..
Mobile phone users only .. and u can also ban tablets as well.
