" They were using a deserted hotel in Sa Kaeo as a front and a base for stealing customer credit card data and passport numbers and swiping the details using an EDC - Electronic Data Capture machine. "
They were somehow stealing credit card info to access money from their accounts. That's how I see it but I may be wrong ....

How they stole the card information may have been achieved via a variety of ways (phishing, skimming, POS manipulation, social engineering etc). IP address probably led police to cell tower nearest that abandoned hotel.
I see it as they are going through old hotel guest files to get the passport and credit card information. Using the hotel as a base because it is empty and that is where the files are.
Using the hotel EDC doesn't make sense, because it would be attached to the hotel bank account. They would need to bring a machine that would deposit to an account they can access.

GF says he probably bought all the cars at drug confiscation auctions. Yeah!
It would be faster and cheaper to kill the drug dealer and then take his ride.

Considering the millions of Thai people that he is forcing to live with no salary now, it is appropriate.

Same way as you fit them in a Volkswagen. 2 in the front and 2 in the back.

and on the Johns Hopkins site.
I see the info for USA testing on the Johns Hopkins site, but nothing for other countries. I don't believe this info exists anywhere on the site.
Can you explain how / where to see the Thailand testing results?

I am expecting that the number of cases will explode nationwide over the next two weeks, caused by the sheer number of people who traveled to gatherings and parties with family and loved ones over the New Year, with little regard for social distancing.
Expect tougher restrictions and more lockdowns coming soon. I'm imposing them on myself already.

You wife could chose to stay in the same ASQ hotel as you are instead of a state quarantine one that is free. But you would have to stay in separate rooms.
A friend and his wife recently returned to Thailand and were able to stay together.
This is from the Q&A of the hotel they stayed in. (Not posting a link so as not to break the rules about promoting or advertising.)
Q8. Can married couples share a hotel room?
Yes. A copy of the couple’s marriage certificate must be submitted when making the Alternative State Quarantine hotel reservation.

I'm single. I expect that confuses you.
Not at all. Being single allows you to enjoy the hooker / John lifestyle to the fullest.

Bangkok Bank has a specialty division for this in their head office at Silom, called Foreign Lending, or something like that. It is managed by a very charming English lady.
If you are a foreign citizen and want a loan or mortgage from Bangkok Bank, they will tell you to go to Helen Waite.

If spent wisely it could have a major impact on the family for generations.
Your numbers are skewed. There is a big difference between Foreign husbands living abroad and sending money vs. 27,000 foreigners who live in E-san.

They are not collecting from usual sources such as beer bars, gogo bars, soapy massages, etc. Gotta make up the shortfall somewhere.

Why rush into another marriage? Why buy another cow when there is plenty of cream to be had?
Lots of guys would love to be in your position: Sorry honey - I'm already married! -
Brown uniforms will be at every exit monitoring the timestamps and collect fines to replace the income they have lost from bars, massage parlors and other sources.

I always thought that closing the swimming pools was a really stupid idea.
A clean swimming pool that is properlybalanced and chlorinated would be the safest place!

I am amazed by how quickly Thai people have become dependent upon GPS to the same extent that they are dependent upon calculators.

IMO- cancelling it is a good idea. I had a situation once where in another country (not Thailand) I left without cancelling a work permit. When I returned to this country several years later for a holiday I was detained by immigration when I was leaving because they wanted the balance payment of unpaid taxes from my expected earnings. They were not going to let me leave the country. It took a lot of talking and investigation of the visa stamps in my passport to convince them that I was truly gone and not earning money there.
If as the above poster says- schools can be lax in "keeping up with records", I would want to be sure of this for myself.

Yesterday they censored an interview with the Thai Minister of Tourism.!!! Surely that isn't a threat to national security.
I found it on the Internet.
Actually, it could have been this - giving 5 year visas to foreigners, which could be perceived as a threat to national security by the boys in green and requiring immediate censorship under article 44.

Putin would need to consult with Elon Musk for that answer.
