So he wasn't self-insuring initially and circumstances beyond his control, apparently, put him in that situation. That doesn't make him a self-insurer, it makes him someone who's insurer refused to renew his cover. A self-insurer is someone who deliberately chooses not to take out insurance because he has the funds to pay for any future medical situations.
He had insurance which ran out and he could not reinsure. He decided to remain in Thailand due to worries about covid in UK. Many people managed to return to their own countries during the pandemic. He chose to stay and effectively self insure. Choices have consequences.

Sounds like it was handled quite well after the guy had his silly little outburst.
Video would have been hilarious, big dude kicking the legs of the little Thai lady with a trolley.
Monty Python comes to mind ????I would love to see a video of what actually happened.

It seems strange to complain about posts about Thailand in a Thailand forum.

Many condos recoup the cost of all communal water use through the individual condo water meter charge. The alternative is to increase the maintenance charge which can be difficult. Seems reasonable for residents to pay for all the water. Doesn't really matter as it has to be paid for one way or other.

In the election the SNP got 45% of the votes cast to give them the vast majority of the seats. It's not a forgone conclusion that they would win an independence vote if granted.

i got a single entry non-imm-o from London when I produced evidence that I was
in receipt of my OAP, I was not offered any multi-entry non-imm-o's or any multi-entry Tourist visa as it appears they have phased them out.
I applied in Liverpool and it took about five days.
I received a multiple entry non Imm O based on receiving state pension from Thai Embassy London earlier this year as that was what I applied for. If you applied for a single entry why should they offer you a multiple entry?

They only burn what they can't get down the water drains.

I start every day here with a mug of Gold Blend from Aldi in the UK. Add boiling water to the tea bag in the mug, leave for 5 minutes then remove bag and add a little semi skimmed milk. Sit down and enjoy.

I sold my golf clubs on Bahtsold. Had to reduce my price expectations to bring it into line with all the others being offered for sale.

Oops! Apply to London embassy. I have never submitted a bank statement. Just a copy of my pension entitlement from DWP

I have had a Non O multiple entry visa based on pension for many years from UK. For purpose of visit I always put "retired". Never had a problem.

A few years ago I was on a TV which expired on the day I checked in for a flight just after midnight. The desk officer refused to stamp me out and I was escorted to the office "for overstay" . In the office another officer just looked at my passport and quickly stamped me out. I guess it's how the immigration officer feels that day.

The headline is correct. It's up to the devolved parliaments whether they follow that decision.
