    Here is what I use to great success. I dig up a Cassava Root "mansambalang" from one of my brother in laws farms and i cut it to expose the smell and moisture. You can rub some bannana or peanut butter on the end, all you need is the smell, dont use a lot of peanut butter or the ants will go after it, and Rats hate ants.

    A half of a banana with the skin on and peeled back works good too. Any hard fruit will work. Sugar apple, apple, guava, mango.

    If you are really serious about getting these rats, go get some land crabs. They work the best out of every bait I have ever tried.

    I trap and hunt rats almost every day when I am in Thailand, They are my absolute favorite meat and can be grilled, fried, and used in stir fry dishes. Delicious!!!

    Thank you for the advice Khunper, you answered a lot of my questions. I dont really see the land as an investment, just a place where I can build a house for my retirement, and a house for my wife's family to live on / farm. I will most likely have Palm oil trees on 50% of the land, and rice / fruit trees on the rest of it. Its hard to find any land in Sakaeo without a Sor Por Gor deed.

    Get the Tourist visa with multiple entries, do the same routine you always do with going into cambodia and re-entering thailand. You will actually save a lot of money and time. Remember you can always extend the tourist visa 30 days at any immigration office. If you are running into cambodia from Aranyapratet, there is an immigration center right there in the city center, just ask a tuktuk driver to take you to Dtaw maw.

    You can get 2 entries which are 60 days so a total of 120 days, more if you do extensions.

    Today's news:

    Seven million rai of Sor Por Kor land to be reclaimed from landlords

    That seems like very big news. In the area that I want to buy land, everyone has sor por gor land in someone elses name, I dont know how people would react to the government coming in and redistributing the land. Many people have worked their entire lives to gain the ~50 rai they have.

    I think that they are more concerned with rich Thais owning thousands of Rai and using the land as an investment, and not for their primary income.

    The low title deed farmlands are often transferred or sold – I’m talking from areas in Surin I know about – which normally is done through Head-of-Village with a standard form and HoF’s signature as witness. Price per rai seems to follow market price, and in the areas I’m familiar with, the present prices are around 40,000 baht per rai, whilst Chanute land easily can be well over 100,000 baht a rai. The villagers seem to feel secure with that kind of transactions – or perhaps they are all family-related in one or other way...?
    I don’t think the government is looking at farmers “owing” some 50 or 100 rai they use for their own farming business, I think the government look at those buying up of lots of land for speculation in future price increase.
    I just checked with my GF about the land her family is upgrading to Chanute at the moment, but that is from Nor Sor Sarm, which is easy, and something I have tried myself before. The Sor Por Gor deed has not been issued by a Land Office (according to the link in my earlier post), so that may be a much more complicated process to transfer and upgrade.

    The reason I asked those questions is because I am going to buy 100 Rai, and for some people, a smaller plot of land might have been easier to transfer. As for the province, each province might have different restrictions or protocols. Fees are tied to the size of land I assume.

    If someone knows the protocol that would be of great help to me in itself, I don't need any personal info, just how to do it, and if it is even possible.

    Cost of a sidecar for Honda wave

    Hi I am going to buy a new honda wave and want to get a sidecar installed that can hold 2 or 3 people. Lots of Thais have them for hauling around people and anything they can fit in it.

    Does anyone know the average price for an ok quality sidecar and installation? Can the dealership do this for me or do I have to bring it to a body shop.

    Thanks for the info guys, about that parasitic infection, what are the symptoms? If I am cooking the bplaa Raa making bplaa deek bong the parasites should die in the process. I did eat a lot of the stuff raw every day for 3 months I'm wondering if I have the parasite, I never got sick or anything while I was there, even after eating raw laap duck and beef blood salads haha.

    Issan style baraa recipe wanted

    Hi I am looking to mix together some baraa which is cured fish mixed with different spices for a while in a small tub.

    Can someone ask their wife or gf for a recipe so I can mix together my own baraa.

    I ultimately want to make bplaa deek bong which I love to dip sticky rice in.

    Please include the time I need to allow it to cure for in the tub.

    Getting rid of a growing wasp nest

    Make a smoking torch like beekeepers I think the smoke calms them down. Then manually remove the nest and put it in front if someone's house you don't like. 2 birds, or bees in this situation!

    Similar story in eastern Thailand sa gaeeo. The men were being targeted by a ghost and the psychic said to dress them up as women. No joke they actually did this and the unexplained deaths stopped. I had a hard time believing this but it actually happened.
