My guess is, that you should go to a doctor. Else you can't hold on a document, that you had covid.

When there will be a test in the near future than it could be that it shows you have/had covid.. and then this document is important, that you can prove you had covid before and this the reason your tests show positiv...

Wait and see what others answer....

I second that....going through similar situation, after having symptoms last week, did a ATK at home, +. Overall, it was mild but went to the hospital do get RT-PCR test to confirm and have it official. Going to EU next month, important to have this in your records and having a certificate. There is always a possibility that you turn up positive for the foreseeable future, even if already recovered.

With mild cases, we are no longer required to stay in hospital quarantine. Otherwise, I would not have gone to the hospital to get the test.

The way things are right now, if you are having only mild symptoms, it is up to each individual case and choice.

  2. UPDATE:

Followed a suggestion previously given and registered again with a new email address, through the web portal. Got confirmation email with login details and got in. The next screen completely different from the previous process. Asking for much less details (no longer asks for Arrival card no.and several other things). So much simpler and less time consuming.

Got my 90 report approval yesterday, that was done with my new login credentials.

Strangely enough, the app on the phone is working again...but....

Can only use it with my old login info. After opening, shows that my previous report is still pending.

With my new login credentials (that are now working through the web portal), the app tells me "wrong user or password".

Seems like the app is linked to a different database....Guess have to accept that "win some, lose some..."

  3. Typing in or hourglass, same thing...blank screen...but at the end it comes down to this...app was working fine until a few days ago, now can't even use for applying for new registration. This must be server related.

Used to use web portal before Covid, haven't left the country since. Online appeared to work only on occasions, gave up on it, as well as going to the office in person. 30km away, 250b taxi each way, 2-3 hrs wasted....on my last extension, had to pay 2k for not having done my TM47...still worth it.

  4. Hi,

did my 90 day report on 17th through the app on the phone, all filled in and got my "pending" confirmation with ref no and bar code. Tried to check status, app not responding, get some "system error". Same thing with the app on my iPad. Tried the portal at the website, says "wrong username or password". Both are correct, stored in the keychain a while ago. But just out of curiosity, tried to change the password, through "forgot password". Also doesn't work, says "wrong user id"!!! What's up with the system? Is anyone able to use it?

  5. Same issue here. Worked well for long time but since last year, no more OTP's from one of my bank accounts in Portugal. Also spent time calling bank and True, no solution. What I do find strange is that I get OTP's from another of my accounts in Portugal to my Portuguese number that is getting delivered trough True's network. Can still use the app on my iPad that eliminates the need for OTP, but might consider switching to AIS in the future.

  6. Signed up for this on 2nd of August, got email after a few minutes confirming my registration. Haven't got any further contacts after that....seems that some people got appointments already through this site, but many others like me, not. I'm 54, no underlaying conditions.

Would occasionally also look for alternatives...thailandinvervac...for some time only links for risk groups but 2 weeks ago saw that over 40's where accepted. Used the link to Medpark, signed up and was able to book a slot straight away. Got my 1st Pfizer shot last Wed.

  7. Same issue here, bank accounts in Portugal. Until end of 2019, no problems in receiving OTP via SMS to my Thai number. Then suddenly, no longer working. Contacted bank over there, they say it's not an issue caused by them. The system gets the OTP request, sends it out, but does not reach my Thai number here. True, my provider, says it's not caused by them either. So, no solution on the SMS front.

Since I got the bank app installed both on my iPad and Android phone, was able to make transfers through the app, no need for OTP, just my PIN code. Then had to re-install the app on my Android, screwed again. In order to validate, needed to get a OTP send by SMS to my phone....back to square one.

Funny enough, I have another phone with Portuguese number that uses True as service provider, same as my Thai number. For another Portuguese bank account, no problems in receiving OTP's by SMS here in Thailand.

Makes no sense, gave up trying to fix this. As long as my iPad doesn't die, I can manage. Once I have a chance to go back to Europe, will get a token, to be on the save side....

  8. Not going to argue about the value of owning a good health insurance...but the current requirements of 100K$ cover for Covid insurance for new arrivals and O-Visa holders seem to create value on for the insurance companies. Given the current daily infection rates and hospitals out of beds, should you be unlucky enough to get seriously ill, are you really going to get treatment and care worth 100k$?

Maybe seeing this whole thing the wrong way, but this does not encourage tourism nor long stay...seems to me just another shortsighted money grab...

  9. Apart from US and EU, the rest of the world is in deep $hit...in our corner of the world, look at Australia, also very low vaccination numbers. Considering what has been reported about the effectiveness (or lack of) for the vaccines available locally , I don't get why everyone is so stressed out...be anxious about the pandemic, but getting a shot right now with what is available?....

  10. If your budget is around 15k, with some search and luck, you'll find good deals online. Got a 12000BTU LG inverter 2 years ago at 50% off, 10.5 k. Another 3k for installation. 9000 BTU should be ok for you, you should be able to find something below 10k. I hear that some of the chinese brands are not too bad, TCL, Haier...

At that time was considering portable unit, after some research, I concluded that this would have been a <deleted> choice.

It is Or Bor Tor and the vast majority of them are not so called experts they are trained in the exact points you are asking about. Are all of them experts? Of course not. Do they sometimes give bad advice? Of course they do, but not often.

You have decided that Piles are needed so go ahead and put them in they will do no harm if drilled. You can drill piles into bedrock if you really want, totally useless but you can do it.

That your house has piles and hasn’t moved says nothing about the need for piles. That some soils (virtually all of Bangkok) need piles says nothing about your soil. If you know the geology in your area and have the background to calculate all the parameters then you will know exactly what is needed, if you don’t and won’t get information from those who do, then just over build by enough and your building will be fine. Sure you will be paying for much more than is needed, but hey it’s just money you can always work and get more.

I'm certainly not the expert here...not doing any "locals" bashing, there are so called "experts" all over the world. But from my personal experiences over the last 20 years living here, for most of the jobs that I had done, had to re-do most of them by myself at a later stage.

In this area in particular, I will try to gather as many proposals and ideas and decide on what makes most sense.

Overbuilding here seems to be quite the norm, if at the end most proposals point to the use of deep piles, I might go for that...but will use less points of support and use thicker steel tube for the base of the frame.

A small pilot hole was drilled then the pile screwed in as shown.

For large piles a m/c is used

That is the top of the pile. then studs were welded

into the holes and a plate drilled to match and welded.

The plate is now a base for construction.

You can see that 'someone' changed the design of the supports during construction. The guy is a qualified Mechanical

Engineer who designs and builds houses. He ran this job at the same time as a couple of other projects. Dropped

the guys off in the morning with instructions and collected them in the evening. Some days he was here most of the day.

He seems to do work for Holoroof quite often. Think they are friends.

Those sheets are very good, little noise when it rains and strong. We discovered them at an Architec Show.

Thanks for the pictures. Contacted Kemrex on the weekend, they will get back to me in a day or two...funny, their office is about 1km from my place...small world.

As for asking at the Or For Tor, I have dealt with a lot of so called local "experts" here to get advise on a variety of issues, and their response has been almost always to use a "shotgun", regardless if you want to kill a bird or a fly....

In many cases, piles all the way down to 20+m are certainly justified...my house build 20years ago, no cracks, no settling....1000l tank on blocks, after 5 years, one side tilted about 5 cm....my mancave, 3x6m, build 3 years ago, light weight around 3000 kg, no piles, supported by 15 stacks of blocks, didn't move (but also not near water).

For my new project, can't take the same route that I took for my mancave. Weight/m2 will be less, when finished around 120kg/m2, but it is next to slope and a pond. So some subsiding is guaranteed. Some piles will be needed for sure...

The other thing that also keeps me thinking is that for a time, I considered getting a container "home" for my mancave, and even now for my new project. Several local companies that make these, all told me the same...they just need leveled blocks to put them on...and each 20ft container weights 2.500kg.

  13. Has one contractor getting back to me. Despite pointing out that the structure is really lightweight, he still said that the piles should be going down until hitting solid...meaning 20+ meters. For this, with the area of 3.6x18m, 14 points, cost will be around 10kb/point, using micro piles. While I can see that the quote might not be totally unreasonable, still believe it is quite an overkill to go that deep. He says that each point supports 15-20tons...that double of the weight of the whole metal frame structure!!!

If this turns out to really be necessary, might consider then to reduce the number of points and use stronger base frame for stiffness.

Hi, had in fact a look earlier today at KEMREX, seemed to be a good alternative...but looks expensive. If you don't mind me asking, what was the cost for your job? Will contact them to know more, in any case.

  15. Hi Kuma,

    Thank you for your input.

Contacted a few potential contractors, will see how it pans out. Cost wise, nobody ever knows what kind of quotations one gets at the end, but should not be anything crazy. Worked out that the weight of the structure will be around 120 kg/m2, total area 3.6x18m. Expect to space one pile every 3m, should make 14 piles total. There are some precast piles that are 6m long, I would think that these should be enough....again, 120kg/m2. Plan to divide it in 3 sections, so even if over time there is some tilting, 2 jacks can lift it and allow me to add some spacers. Worst case, get a small crane...
