OP, that's disappointing. A cancelled flight out or any flight is not required.

Did you have the affidavit with you.

    So you attended CW?

Which visa did you previously have? Tourist Visa?

    Hi Jack,

    yes, Tourist Visa.

It was not much dissapointing as I have heard some reports about this issue earlier.

So now I prepared to show them what they wish to see and lets see what will be next.

    Don't leave us hanging.

    Then what happened?

Were you advised to depart Thailand before your current extension expires? Or were you offered other options?

    Sorry for my late answer.

I will do for what they ask and will show them my flight ticket. Actually it was nice to get many Covid extension but I was sure that can not keep going like this for the next 50 years 55

  3. Right now I have turist extension (under rule 2.4, got without embassy letter) will expire on 26 October. 2 days ago I went to immigration office and they confirm me that can get 2 month extension for 3900 THB. We completed the forms, I paid the fee and got under consideration stamp for 28 October. Based one them my new extension will start from 01. November.

Another thing: I can’t get a bank statement of my funds. I only talk with my bank on the telephone and get my balance that way. I have good enough of money but without a bank statement printed is it possible for me to get a tourist visa? Can I withdrawal cash and show them?

I allways had to print bank statement. You can go at a internet coffee and print it.

About overstay and have a flight back after few days: it happened to me and had no problem when I returned. Was on 10 days overstay (fully my mistake), at return the IO looked carefully the overstay stamp, looked me long but she didnt say anything - so that was all story.

I dont think that you have to scarred to much - just go out from country how fast is possible, and thats all.

  5. Hello there,

I read at several topics that IO's will ask for why we come to TH, what we do here (in case if we travel often with turist visa), so just curios what is the best reply for them, and what we have to avoid to tell them.

In my case: it happened sometimes that I been asked why so oft come to Thailand... I had this 2 kind of answers:

    - like mo manow, and thats all

    - told that home its to much cold, here much better

Usually they smile, and wish me to enjoy in Thailand.

    Others experience?

I'd love to know where you can wroten a letter to tells them that you is not bad tourist and you speaks English so they musts agree with thing you say so that we can all get the sames treatment.

It was in Europe. At first I only bring what they require on their website (flight ticket, bank statement about 200K THB) but staff told me that I was not approved and the Consol want more infos about me and I have to collect "everything what I can" (he told me like this). So, I collected all what I listed earlier and after it was fine.

  7. I was in same situation: I applied for METV and at first the Consol not signed and they asked more infos about my situation.

So I presented then this documents:

    - tax declaration about my regularly income as freelancer

    - some copies about officially documentations where can see that I'm owner at some companies

    - copy about some bank statements

    - and I wroted a nice personal letter why I like to visit TH, and what is the reason that I spend so many time there.

2 days later I was called that I got the METV, and all staff read my personal letter and they love it (NOTE: text was mines but a native english speaker corrected it before to sent them 55555555)

So the point is how the embassy staff told earlier: if you want to get METV than have to show that you have enough sources to stay long time in Thailand. (This can be employment letter, or any other documents as well - but should be officially documents and should show that you have enough/ a lot of money.)

You may have to show you have 20,000 baht on arrival, so make sure you have it if arriving on business class.

Yeah, for sure I allways have this money at me - my question about if immigration treats business class arrivals differently was only just curiosity. ???? (Have to see if again will be upgraded to be able to compare with the not-priority lanes :)) ).

why should you be treated any differently just because you have paid for a higher priced ticket?  Everyone should get a good service, not just those who sit in the fancy seats up front.

Hm, its logic what you asked - but I read that at many cases it matters that somebody how is dressed, from which country he is, the way how he talks, or even the mood of immigration officer. So if this all matters then should be a factor too if you are a business traveller?

Despite this approval letter, the immigration could reject your Elite Visa if you have overstayed more than once in the past three years or have a bad record that we have not yet found in the immigration system.”

    Thanks. ???? I had only 1 overstay.

Any idea what can mean "bad record". If I come many times with turist visas its allready considered "bad", or bad records mean if I had any issue in Thailand?

Apparently immigration are tightening things up. I have no idea why they would do this other than that they must dislike us in some way.

Somehow I can understand them - to many people to long time abuse this system.

But now I have to find replies for my problem and not start a discussion about this is justified or not, or the way how they do - so will confirm here when I got response from them.

  12. If its only once overstay (for 10 days) then can be in the future any consequesnces? Or still can leave with this? Had this overstay in January, after this I been once in Thailand and no problem at all - but still have in my mind.

My history: at last 6 years I spent 60-70 procent of each years in TH, based on turist visas (one or multiple entry). Reading the news, topics here and because of some last happenings (4 month ago I was first time asked why I visit so many times TH, but was only a question, and that's all, and after 10 days overstay what was fully my mistake) feel a bit worried about upcomming visits.

    I see 2 options:

    - apply soon for Thailand Elite Visa, and save time spent with worries and secure my situation

    - or still keep do things like this and apply for Thailand Elite Visa if ever will be denied my entry.

Actually not work in TH, do nothing illegal but can understand that staying there 60-70 procent of ever year it not like a real turist. ????
