.... or are there any problems that I don't know about.
I would like to combine the 90 day reporting in person and a request for a certificate of residence on the same visit to Chaengwattana.
But I have to wait some days for some papers from the house owner.
My last entry to Thailand was on November 3rd.
Is my calculation correct that my last day for 90 day reporting is February 8 (which is next Monday)??
Thank you very much

Do you have a copy of her Thai ID card someplace. They might accept the passport if you do.
No, we don't have any.
But since you wrote "they might accept" it sounds a little bit risky.
Looks like my wife has to hurry and get a new ID card.
Thanks anyway ubonjoe

My wife (Thai) and me wanted to go to Chaengwattana to apply for a 60 days extension ("visiting wife") for my Multiple Entry Non Immigrant O (based on marriage).
Now she cannot find her Thai ID card ;-)
She has her Thai passport though.
Do you know if she can use her Thai passport instead?
My common sense tells me Yes ... but then again you never know.

Is the Thai consulate in Savannakhet the only option in SEA to get a new multiple entry Non Immigrant O based on marriage without showing funds?
Would be nice to combine a visa trip with a short holiday.
I know the Mukdahan area already. So another area / city to do this visa/holiday trip would be nice.

Thank you very much Upnotover.

Hello members.
A far as I know a Thai citizen does not need a visa for Malaysia.
But what documents are needed for a Thai citizen and a Thai baby/infant?
We are planning to fly into KL for a weekend.
Does a Thai adult need a passport or is a Thai ID card ok (maybe because of Asean)?
What about the Thai infant?
Thank you very much

I would say it is an IP.Board by Invision Power

How many Thai employees do they need for let's say one work permit for a foreigner?
-
I went there together with my wife.
And from what I have read here on the forum this is recommended - maybe even obligatory.
Edit: Oh sorry, I thought ivowatson's question was for me. Never mind

Thank you very much ubonjoe.
Everything went fine at Chaeng Watthana
... although I have to say that the immigration officer was a little bit reluctant to grant 60 days instead of 30.
I was expecting to maybe being refused since we did not go to the office of my wife's registration or due to a missing document.
I did not expect that the 60 days might be an issue.
But as I said .. everything went fine.
Thanks again.

Sorry to revive this thread.
But since my wife and me want to go to Chaeng Wattana soon I would be pleased to get some clarification from you guys.
ubonjoe, you said that I can do the extension during the last 30 days of my entry.
The stamp in my passport says that I am admitted to stay until the end of June.
So if I do the extension in the next days would I get a permission to stay until the end of August (60 days starting to count from my current admission to stay date)?
Or are they going to grant 60 more days starting from the date of application (our visit at Chaeng Wattana)?
As I said my wife is not registered in Bangkok.
ubonjoe said that this is not a problem if we can show some proof of our address in BKK.
We currently live here in hotel / residence mix extending from month to month.
Might this be a problem since with all the crackdown news going on I read somewhere that "tourist don't rent an apartment" (or if they do they are not tourists)?
Thanks a lot again for your help

@FiestyFarang: Not sure if I understood your post correctly. Are you saying I have been blunt? When?
Mai pen rai.
Honestly I prefer to hear from the experts here on TV since I know some of them are always up-to-date.
And also about the personal experiences of members here who are really affected by these things.
And of course I ask myself if the people who might be the authors of the Immigration Website can really help me out since this website really confuses me.
I have an english menu and click on "Visa" and there is only one word in a dropdown and that is in Thai.
I would call myself web-savvy but this website is not really informative and does not inspire much confidence to me ;-)

Thank you Mario2008 for your quick response?
Well I guess that means making a road trip to the north since my wife is not registered in Bangkok.
Is this extension pretty much same straightforward as the 30 days extension?
How much is it?
And are there any special prerequisites? Money in bank? Proof of income?
Can I do this extension at any time before my current 2 months are over or should I do it close to the end of my current 2 months?
If I get this 2 months extension ... what happens afterwards. Is another 30 day extension possible?
Usually we have to go back to Europe at the end of August. My wife is waiting for her German visa at the moment.
But just in case we change our plans on a short notice and would like to stay a little bit longer.
Since my current triple entry tourist visa states August 2nd as the "Enter before" date I will lose my last entry by doing this 2-months extension.
Is that correct?
Any better ideas?
Many questions, I know.
Thanks again

I have tried to get the information from the website of the Thai immigration - without success.
So with all the uncertainty going on at the moment I would to be happy if anybody could help me out with my, I guess, pretty standard visa question.
I have a triple entry tourist visa from a consulate in Germany.
It was issued at the beginning of February and I came to Thailand a few days later.
After two months I received an extension of stay for another 30 days at Lad Phrao.
At the beginning of May I left the country and after coming back I used my second entry which gave me another 60 days until the beginning of July.
I am married to my Thai wife and we stay in Thailand together.
But it is pretty certain that we have to go back to Europe at the end of August.
Now my question ...
If I apply for another 30 day extension in Bangkok at the beginning of July I would have to take further action at the beginning of August.
So, is it possible for me to "take my wife" so that we go to Lad Phrao (or maybe Chaeng Wattana then) and apply for an extension of stay based on the reason of visiting my wife. If so this would give me 60 days until the end of August at which time it seems that we have to leave anyway.
I have some more minor questions regarding prerequisites for this but I guess I wait for your answers if this extension can be made by me.
Thank you all

Thanks everybody.
@Lite Beer: I understand that. I like security.
But last time at Ladprao it took me 5 hours to get my visa stuff done.
And I have seen many of these guys who just came there for 90 day reporting at the time of my arrival as well after I was done.
So ... something like that just to tell the government your address and that you are still here?
I would love to avoid that

Hello everybody,
I know this 90 day report topic is all over the forum at the moment.
And I read different stories about still waiting for the confirmation and where to send the mail.
But .. this is why I have opened another 90 day reporting thread.
I have 18 days left until my reporting.
I have been to Ladprao 2 weeks ago and I really don't want to go there again soon.
Nevertheless I have been talking to many guys over there at immigration and almost everybody came for 90 day reporting.
There were even 3 counter windows for 90 days reporting (although maybe not all opened) and only one for tourist extension.
So, what should I do?
The website of the immigration states clearly (at least how I understand it) that you CAN send the report by registered mail - as long as you do it at least 15 days before due date. I did not see any new regulation or maybe temporary regulation for the time that Chaengwattana ist closed.
So, why shouldn't I report by mail?
I get the receipt for the registered mail and then I have proof. The rest is not my problem - or is it?
But then again why did I meet so many people at Ladprao coming there for the 90 day reporting in person?
Why is not everybody reporting by mail then?
I am confused.
Any recommendations please?

Why are so many posters always talking about this "balls thing"?
I don't worry about my balls, so why do you?
And yes, maybe when saying "tending" in my OP I was definitely not clear enough.
The only way I will take them is when doing it my way.
So, don't worry anybody. I am European, raised responsibly in such matters. No infant seat, no kid.
Still, I was interested in the legal implications. Maybe this is something for the "Ask the lawyer" forum.
Thanks to all of you.

I was asking if anybody knew what the legal implications are.
That was my only question. I was not looking to start a poll on this.
Don't worry about my balls .
I made myself clear to the cousin already.
But since benalibina is right about the scenario he/she described I will go with the "I don't take you" solution.
Because my time is too precious to always start a new fight or give new commands every time we stop the car or the little one is freeing himself from the infant seat.
But benalibina's description of the scenario that will definitely happen also made me smile.
It is something you will never have to go through in Europe in the first place.

I am going to rent a car at the weekend from one of the international car rental agencies..
I am farang with an European driver's licence and an international licence.
Now it looks as if my wife's cousin is joining us - and if she does she will bring her boy of 3 years.
After I said that we then have to rent an infant seat I received different feedback.
The cousin was baffled, puzzled, laughing in disbelief, looking at me thinking I am crazy or just joking her.
She said that it won't be possible to put the boy in an infant seat anyway.
I thought "Who cares what the boy wants? He's not the boss. This is about safety".
I am not the overcautious kind of guy. In Bangkok I frequently take the motorbike taxi.
But then I am only responsible for myself.
So, now I am tending to not taking the cousin and the boy with us.
Safety first!
Nevertheless I am interested in what would happen to me (since I am the driver) or to the person responsible for the young boy if we had an accident and something happened to the boy because he was sitting or standing on the back seat?
What about the adult people on the backseat not wearing the safety-belt because they never do?
Does it make a difference if the driver is Thai or farang?

Hi all,
I am using a D-Link DWM-156 Aircard on a Window 7 notebook.
Installation was smooth.
The D-Link Connection Manager displays that TrueMove H is recognized and 3G as speed.
But everytime I click on "Connect" I immediately get the error message "Dial up failed".
Have a look at the attached image.
I can send USSD Codes and receive SMS via the Connection Manager.
One SMS states that I have a promotion for 90 MB.
I have successfully used the SIM card in a mobile phone and could connect to the internet.
I have imported the TrueMove H APN settings and tried again.
Nothing is working.
Since the error message comes up so quickly I am tending to some hardware/software problem on the computer.
The device manager does not show any conflicts though.
Any ideas welcome

Since I started this interesting discussion I would like to give you an update ...
My wife is fine again. I think she was lucky. She had 2 or 3 bad days but the rest of the time she was quite ok (just bored because she had to stay inside).
So far I did not get the chicken pox.
I read somewhere that the disease might even occur after two weeks (which will be in 2 days).
But it looks as if I am lucky.
Does this has something to do with my post vaccination? I don't know. But it might well be connected with that.
So, for me I did the right thing when I got the vaccine.

@Diddl: I cannot judge on which source is correct. I simply don't know that.
But, and this is just my personal opinion, if I have to make a decision then I rather believe the German Robert Koch Institute than the source you provided.
This has nothing to do with looking for people who agree.
It is just a personal preference on who I believe (trust) more.

-
As a side note, but maybe interesting for some:
Costs for the vaccination: 2300 Baht.
Plus the expenses for the doctor and service.
-
@Diddl: It is always a big risk to spend hours in the internet and research information about diseases.
You will always find information that you don't like and that scares you. And then you tell yourself "I should not have started to research".
In this case I followed the advise of German Robert Koch Institute and doctors in Germany.
I made this decision (also under a certain time pressure) and now I hope for the best.
Ok to do 90 day reporting on last day of "grace period"?
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

Ok, thanks. I guess you are right.
So I will go in the next days.
I was hoping not to go all the way to Changwattana again on another date for a certificate of residence.
