  1. I'm in Jomtien, on Soi 7. Jomtienthip Condotel. Do you think it's possible to cross 2nd Rd. to eat at Kiss Foods without getting ambushed? Yes, I know....we should just shut up and enjoy but.....whattaya think guys? Kiss Foods a pretty safe bet?
  2. The Belgian company accepts Paypal payments. I wonder if I can connect Paypal to Bangkok Bank?
  3. Thanks for that link. I saw my cartoon card on there, and it explains in more detail. Apparently, it's a mastercard debit card. I don't care to use it, but I was hoping to buy the digital audio workstation from a Belgian company online. The site mentions BIC, not SWIFT, so, maybe I'm out of luck. Thanks again for the reply! ๐Ÿ˜‰
  4. Wow, interesting replies, thanks much gang! There's kind of a cartoonish group of people on the card. It says "Bangkok Bank Be 1st Smart" There's a small gold chip below it, and to the right, the red and yellow merged circles (Visa?) but doesn't say Visa. There's another logo that says "Thai Payment network." ? So, I guess I can't use it to purchase something online in Belgium. Can I connect the account to Paypal? The European vendor mentioned Paypal. Weird card...weird rules these days. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  5. I just secured my Non Immigrant O retirement visa with a Bangkok Bank "card" It looks like a cartoon, and there's no Visa logo etc. What exactly am I supposed to do with this? I know I can use it to pay locally, but I want to buy a music program for digital music making, but it's in Belgium. The card can be used to purchase using the company's BIC number? or are we not allowed to purchase online? Any help appreciated. (What an eyesore of a card) lol
  6. That sounds reasonable, thanks very much Upnotover! I will explain that I plan to extend, and I will at least have a name of a place I plan to stay. Also, if asked, I will have some cash on hand. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  7. From what I've gathered, around 3 weeks. Dr Jack, Do you know if my return ticket for April 18 will be a problem? (March 18-April 18) Is it possible to just pay an overstay day fine or something? Thanks
  8. I plan to retire in Thailand, and bought a roundtrip ticket from Vietnam. (Visa exempt) I'm flying in March 18, and return (though I won't use it) is dated April 18. On my count, that's 31 days, OR do you count the date you enter as the first day? Thanks for any help ๐Ÿ˜‰
  9. I'm over here in Vn watching Thai news daily, hoping the dummies offer 45 day or 90 day exempts soon, so I can retire to Jomtien on my meager social security. If they don't pull heads out of anus' soon I'll stay in lovely Vung Tau ;-) (I really miss Jomtien though)
  10. My GAWD, sometimes i find myself laughing at the ABSURD requirements foreigners must adhere to, and all the hoops and stupid amounts of money in a Thai bank just for the privilege of staying there (and spending your money into their economy) They really have us by the nutsacks don't they? XD
  11. FBU Manila seems to have problems. I'm American, single, 62, no dependents, no complications...living in Vietnam, recent retiree.Last August, I began receiving benefits into my Vietnam bank acct. But then suddenly, payments sputtered out. It went like this: Aug--received Sep--received Oct--no Nov--received December--no Jan,2023--no Feb--no March--no April--no May--no I'd used their online inquiry MANY times, and received varied responses, such as, "your bank info not correct" (impossible, since it worked before/nothing changed.) Then it was "We've re-instated benefits, please wait 7-10 days" but NOTHING. Then it was "It appears bank info incorrect" again. WTF? They don't answer phone calls, and my lovely friends, who've been helping me survive, are about to wring my neck. I'm wondering why FBU Manila can't seem to simply try to deposit/if unsuccessful-contact me so I can change bank or? Anyway, that's my story. It's frustrating, because I want to exit Vietnam and live in Thailand, but......
