It’s not a choice as that is the only way this particular property is being sold. It’s not available in a freehold to have my wife as the owner

The land lease I have has been registered at the Land Office and I have copies in both Thai and English. It also shows a right of survivorship to my spouse. Same as my house registration.
I’m entering into a 30yr lease with a well known developer in a gated community as well and have a Thai wife I will put on the lease document with myself. I’m interested as to how you wrote up the right of survivorship on your lease doc.
Thx

I’ve used Dr Niyom at Bumrungrad over the years and find him to be knowledgeable and thorough

Did you show them proof the money had been in the bank for a long time? Most will do it since the only reason for proof it came from abroad is due to it only needing to be in the bank on the day you apply.
Try again and ask to talk to a supervisor.
Yes…I went in with the bank letter and a history of the money being in the account for years…they wanted lots of other unnecessary documentation as well. Seemed ridiculous but I was able to comply and will now apply for my 1 year permission to stay next week. Having the money in the bank seemed the least important to them of all the requirements that I easily met

I am also trying to go from OA to O…entered with a 30 day stamp, applied for O today…I have the required money in a Thai bank for many years and today they asked for a “ credit advice” from the bank wanting to see where my funds came from. I brought the letter I’ve always used from the bank to renew my retirement visa and they wouldn’t accept it. Anyone with this issue

Dr Parit did a biopsy of my lower intestine during an endoscope/colonoscopy test and found areas in my intestine that had no villi…so he recommended a gluten free diet that has proved to be the answer and will enable the villi to grow back

That in no way suggests reflux.
It is also not properly described as "stomach" pain, it is abdominal pain (periumbilical abdominal pain, to be exact).
While this region is not near your stomach, sometimes gastritis pain is referred there, however in that the case there should usually have been some symptomatic relief from the meds you are on. Even though gastritis takes time to heal, reduction in gastric acid should lessen the pain. However an active ulcer i nthe stomach or duodenum might still be painful even on meds, and endoscopy is the best way to exclude this.
Other possible causes include :
Appendicitis, but if it were that your white blood count should be (or become) elevated. How long ago was the blood test? Might be worth repeating it. Also, should have shown on CT.
Pancreatitis (would be chronic not acute as otherwise you'd be much sicker) - regular CTs can sometimes miss this especially if done early in the disease. Do you know if serum amylase and lipase were tested (and if so, how long ago?). And how long ago were the CTs?
Gall bladder issues (stones, inflammation) can sometimes cause pain in this location but if so would expect to have been visible on CT.
A problem with the mesenteric artery causing restricted blood flow - as you are not critically ill, would be of the chronic type. CT will often miss this , especially if the radiologist was not specifically looking for it. This is less likely as a cause but can't be totally ruled out as a cause.
In terms of what to do, I would suggest proceeding with the endoscopy but to discuss first with the doctor whether it might be wise to make it an endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) which is a type of endoscopy better able to identify chronic inflammation of the pancreas.
If this fails you would best come to Bangkok, bringing all test results with you (including the imaging on disk) and see this US-trained, US-board certified doctor who is tops in the field:
https://www.bumrungrad.com/en/doctors/Parit-Mekaroonkamol
You could also come and see him now, but if he then felt endoscopy was needed, it would cost much more to have it done at Burmungrad than it will at Mission.
I’ve seen Dr Parit and he’s excellent. Very thorough and professional..I’ve been suffering with stomach probs for some time and have had many tests with no found results until Dr. Parit pinpointed the problem and now all is good.

Good to know, especially as I have not had many reports of cost from there.
15K for consultation with 3 different doctors, labs, ultrasound is not bad (though of course more than public channel)
Agree…not bad at all and most important he was able to get a good assessment of his med prob and a follow up program every 3 months that should keep his condition under control

Yes it was Siph where he was seen
Thanks

I think so…I’ll see him on Friday as we play tennis every week…He did go to Siriraj, just not sure it was the private wing.

Hi Sheryl,
Just a quick thank you for all the referrals for my friend. He went up to Siriraj this past Wednesday and was seen by all 3 Doctors. They ran all the necessary bloodwork and ultrasound in the morning with results and counseling in the afternoon. I saw him on Friday and he was very appreciative of your recommendations and will return back every 3 months so they can monitor his situation. Total cost was 15,000 and he was very pleased with that as well.
Best Regards,
Eric

Hi,
Which one would you recommend. I’m usually looking for Dr with good fellowships from good med schools in the US…so I’m not familiar with Thai Dr aside from Chula and Siriraj associate professors.
Thanks Sheryl

Siriraj has an excellent Thalassemia clinic. In fact, if he can get a letter of referral from the hospital where he is registered, he can be treated there for free under the government scheme. Even if not, costs will be modest. However, waits will be long. If he prefers a private option should use the Siriraj private wing and one of these doctors:

Thanks so much and I’ll pass on the info today

Hi Sheryl,
Thanks for the info. No specific reason I mentioned those hospitals other than I thought he might find some well trained Drs there.
He told me today he’s been diagnosed with Thalassemia…
He’s getting me the blood work you asked for and I’ll pass it on as soon as I get it.
I will give him your advice and he will follow it.
Many thanks,
Eric
Btw…he’s open to go anywhere where he can get the proper advice and care.

If in Hua Hin, I would suggest he come to Siriraj or if he prefers, Thonburi Hospital (private, near Siriraj and many senior Siriraj doctors work there) as much more convenient. Is there a reason you specifically mention Bumrungrad and Medpark? Further away & more expensive.

Thanks Sheryl, I’ll see him tomorrow and request what you asked for. He’s a 40 yr old Thai dentist friend living in Hua Hin but seems to not be getting good advice here.
many thanks

My friend has anemia and is 40 yrs old and I’m looking for a good hematologist at one of the private hospitals like Bumrungrad or Medpark

Just to clarify my situation, Dr Parit at Bumrungrad did some blood work, hydrogen breath test, colonoscopy and endoscopy. He took a sample of my lower intestine during the endoscopy and found that I wasn’t celiac but had areas in my lower intestine that lacked villi. He put me on Ganaton and a gluten free diet and the missing villi will hopefully grow back. I’m feeling better than I have in 8 years and my stomach and everything related to my stomach are now feeling normal. Dr. Parit is very clinical in his approach and was able to make a diagnosis that previous Drs at Bum were not able to.

I’ve recently seen Dr Parit at Bumrungrad and I had similar issues to you and he was able to diagnose the problem and I’m feeling great. I was at Bumrungrad in 2013 for 4 days doing tests and they came up with nothing wrong but problems still persisted. So he was very thorough and ruled out all possibilities. Young and well trained Dr

I’ve got a case of gout I believe as my uric acid levels have been high over the last few years and have some issues with my fingers abs thumbs.
I saw some of the older threads and it seems some of the rheumatologist at Bumrungrad have moved on.
if someone has experience with a good Dr there with a specific specialty in gout it would be appreciated.

My friend has both stents and a pacemaker and is having some issues.
I’d like a referral to a qualified western trained Dr in Bkk.
Dr. Chad was at one time highly thought of but open to others suggestions.
