I got my last Bike from Big C about 7 years ago it was 7000Bht and has lasted very well but been back there and not much to look at or good value..

It is time for a change but where to get mountain Bike for around 7 to 8000Bht??? Anywhere in or around Chiang rai is ok.. Thanks..

Wow.... Just a quick post.. Not a Moan....... When I posted this is was a question and I wanted peoples thoughts on it... If I was going to moan then for sure I would have said so..

I could have a moan about Farangs who walk around with just shorts and no top(Then that would be a moan).. But this was a question. If the guy in question has bad eyes then so be it...... The baseball cap back to front then im yet to understand(Maybe he has a spotty neck)..

When you here Thais comment and say stupid Farang as they walk past with no shirt then I feel I little hurt as I am a Farang and I for 1 don't want classed as a Farang who do,s not respect a persons culture.. NOW THATS A MOAN..

Was in conversation with a friend a few days ago and I asked him to answer this simple question but he could not... Can anyone on this Forum?

The last time I was in Big C just walking round and enjoying the day out getting in the weekly shop I saw a Farang around 50ish walking towards me and for sure it is not unusual to see a fellow Farang you have never met before in ever growing Chiang rai but I always nod or say hello in passing but this time I didn't nod or say hello I am a little ashamed to say, I walked in the other direction for 1 reason....

Can anyone explain why a man in his 50s would have on a pair of black sun specs and a baseball cap back to front?????????????????????.. Now I am not a sharp dresser by all means but come on,,, A BASEBALL CAP back to front and shades in a well well well lit store???... Why? Your thoughts....

Hi ctrunfree..... I don't know how often you go to Rico,s bar but Thursday nights has always been very quiet.

Tuesday and Friday are still they same as it always was very busy and many people Thai and Farang eating and having a good night.

The food is, and always was of high standed and very good value for money, With Rico on home soil I think the bar and restaurant are as normal and apart from the odd event and German night on a Wednesday there is no real change....

I did not mean to moan when I was having a rant about the moaners, I just wanted everyones thoughts on the subject. I know a few of you who have replied and agree with nearly all of the posts on this subject and from now I just hope I can let it be water of a ducks back as they say..

Maybe Vilagefarang is correct and maybe it is the bar culture but that do,s account for all the moaning you here at the likes of Big C. Central Plazza. Local supermarkets. Saturday markets or even out there playing golf?..

Maybe they should just compare there life to for example a 60 year old person living back in the Western world with what amounts to as little as £10 to live on after paying all the weekly bills and just thank god for what they have and remember just how lucky they really are to live in such a beautiful place as Chiang Rai...

I have been in Chiang rai for a long time now and after reading this page for years I thought I would join in and ask a few questions of what people really think?

Why when you go out for a beer and a bit of food do you get moan after moan from xpats who have a fantastic life compared to people living on the bread line in US, UK Aus, and many places world wide.. Example.

It is too hot, too cold, the foods not western enough, the beers not as good as back home, the traffic is too busy, Chiang rai is not what it was, the bars are empty, no night life, nothing to do, I hate him over there and her over there, the Thai people are cheats, they just don't understand what I want(after 15 small beers), quality of everything I buy is not as good as back home, It is just so boring and horrible to here this not all the time but you get it 1 or 2 times a week off people who have been here YEARS, Please go home and stop moaning on and on about a place where you live and most of us LOVE... Rant over...
