Wish they made the Aerox in 250cc all the bigger cc scooters get so large, the size of my aerox is acceptable.

The sell a few variator kits  and lighter roller weights to make the Aerox go faster, pretty cheap, im thinking about getting one when I have time to tinker

Not so worried about saving the fuel just the issue of running out in the middle nowhere.  I'm 35kms out of town and fuelling places are few and far between.

People are averaging At least 150km range on the Aerox forums before the gas warning starts flashing but if you to be cautious better get the pcx with the 8 litre tank

Doesn't really bother me, I'd never be 150km from a gas station on my scooter....

    On my big bikes, sometimes

Nice comparison and useful info.  I'm on my 3rd PCX and considering an Aerox as a next change but the fuel consumption and tank capacity really puts me off.  The PCX consistently gives me around 39/40 km/L and with the much larger tank I only need to fill up every 250 or so kms. Your indicated 33.6km/L and a tank size of around 4 litres means only half the range and living out in the sticks that could get a little tedious.

    You're right in that regard

There is 25 Litres of underseat storage and I would be much happier with a 10 Litre tank or even larger and sacrifice some of that storage space but yamaha don't consult me before they make a bike for some reason

Would be a good DIY project if anyone knew how to connect  an additional aftermarket tank in the 25litre storage area to the primary tank? .....

I use mine in the city anyway so it's not too bad to stop for a bottle of water and check phone messages sometimes

BTW You can get 45km/pl if you ride  like grandma going to market..... But if we going to worry about saving fuel you could buy a wave 110i and get 70km/pl....

It's all about the price, Click gives good bang for the buck.

Honda is still very popular here but okay the young Thais looks more for design now, that little bike 150cc M-Slach (or whatever its called) is very popular among young Thai men.

I wish my bike needs are as easy to satisfy as Moonlover's:smile:

Aerox is too small for me, my knees are hitting the fairing, Nmax perhaps when my 5-6 years old PCX will be changed.

You could reshape the seat very cheaply and remove the bump and get it covered so you could sit further back

I thought it would be too small for me but I rented one anyway but I'm only 6'

In my neck of the woods it goes something like this:

    Click 50%
    Wave 30%
    PCX. 10%

The remaining 10% made up of Scoopi, Fino, Cub and the rest minus Aerox !!

For the last 2 days ( when I started paying attention ) have not seen 1 Aerox !!

Strange as it seems like a good machine !

It's relatively new compared to the wave and click and pcx that have been available for yonks.... I see loads of them in bkk daily  (new without plates yet) and they seem to be outselling the new pcx

I've had a Click for almost three years now and endorse everything you say about them. I've seen them described on this forum, maybe on this thread, as a 'motorized shopping trolley'. Such a term does not do it justice, even though it is very good in that role. I've often been amazed at how much the wife and I have lugged home from the market on it!

Like you say, great acceleration and a very smooth engine. And very quiet too l. Mine has the combined braking system and once I'd adjusted to one hand braking, I thoroughly recommend it. One always the right hand in full control of the throttle, instead of trying to do two things at once. And you always have the right lever for the front brake in reserve if you need extra bite. Rarely had to use it fortunately.

We have a car now, so no more shopping trips. The Click is now my fun bike and I ride out regularly around the country lanes and the winding roads through the hill range to the south of Sakon Nakhon. I can cruise comfortably at 80kph with occasional forays up to 90 when I know the road surface is good. But I do still enjoy mixing it with city traffic now and then.

It's been very reliable and she runs as well now as the day I bought her.

When they say love is blind, they ain't joking....

I will try and find Thai law or confirmations of rules with the authorities.  I'll visit the city hall, police stations around town and the transport office for a start.

Please join in and let's try and find the official rule of law.

Probably could be found online in Thai language. Anybody who reads Thai fluently want to take on the project with me?

This will take time ladies and gents. Let this fact finding mission continue......

Or you could just, go get a Thai license and cancel the crusade....

Actually i just got it at the local shop, where i bought the bike. It was one of the options you could get. I believe it was a bit under 500 bt (bought hand guards too) and the total was 1700bt they gave me some discount. Not sure why but that shop never seems to rip me off and always does good work.

If you have the book of the Aerox (the advertisement folder) you can see the hook and order it at the shop.

I'll  order  one from yamaha when I get time

I met a Thai guy once night who told me where to get them (ramkamheng Rd)  but can't remember if he said Soi 24 or 34 or something like that

Last couple of months I've done  4000km and only a few times I've really had so much to carry a hook would have been useful

This is seriously bad train of thought. Just asking for unwanted attention. The business is in thailand in a small city it's aimed at Thais.  Even the guys hook  with subsidy from government (900 baht) scheme is for thai people. The last thing this business needs is a farang presence/clientele. This type of thinking is overlooking 99.5% of the market.

I don't know if you will make as much money as you expect to

I walked into a dentist once in a busy bkk road and there was nobody in it except the dentist and his receptionist

He did a good job and filled in a cavity for 700thb

Now I go to a big modern hospital with all the  latest space age equipment of dentistry and they have free tea, coffee, cookies and stuff in a luxury  waiting area with white leather couches and nice coffee tables

I walk in anytime without appointment  and usually get seen by someone if they're not on lunch or book a specific dentist if you care which one you get

The bill is usually 1800-4400 for bi annual checkup and fixing anything that is wrong

I don't know if the thais in your target market will pay that much (or at least enough of them to cover the rent + salaries + equipment)

I don't even care about the price because insurance pays it anyway but if I was a poor  Thai, I might still go to the cheaper guy who I went to the first time because he was in an old style surgery but his work was 100%

They're pretty good.  Not the cheapest (suits in the 20-35k range) but you get 3 fittings and generally a helpful, professional attitude.  I doubt they'll make a suit without being able to measure you though, that's not a recipe for good work.

Tried some short-sleeved shirts at Pinkie recently and they were awful, awful.  Ridiculously tapered at the waist (like a women's dress) and sleeves way too wide.

Sounds like Small arms, big belly syndrome

Suggest some pushups, pull ups and sit-ups... Daily

It's an epidemic in thailand, probably contagious too

What about the local police station ? I heard that they also had authority to issue a residence certificate on presentation of the blue book of the house ?

    It's hit and miss

Sometimes they're friendly and do one free of charge

Sometimes they can't be bothered and tell you to go see your embassy

A police letter will suffice tho

They did one for me at thonglor a few years ago

Immigration is actually a "police" department too.... And In. Bkk they do them at Chang wattana and chanchury Square but they want to post it to you which is a waste of time if you need it on the spot - cheaper tho

From my experience. Stick with international licence.

By going and trying for thai license you are feeding the problems that exist. Just my opinion from my experiences.  Save the stress for all involved.  Update international DL where and whenever you need to.  Won't apply to all nationalities.

It's illegal to NOT get a Thai license after a certain period of time

    I think it's 3 months but could be 6

Long time since I read the rules

Got the aerox and have some PCX mirrors on it. It makes the bike a bit wider but the extra visability is great. I am quite happy with my aerox R model.

What i found a bit strange though was that the top speed was almost the same for one passenger and 2 passengers. I had expected more of a difference there.

I like that the bike has a lot of storage, now waiting for the hook to arrive to make it even more convenient.

Do you have a link to order the hook?

when you have a girl on the back every time you break you get a little closer. Driving solo is a much better experience for sure which I need to do more of.

Found somewhere Click is 50k new with 58.8km/L and extra 0.9L fuel tank (5.5L) (cheaper, more fuel efficient, longer range) and as you said 125cc is still better than average but still don't think you will find a more fun bike for 64k :)

I bought the R version a couple of months ago and I love it

Some days I do 100km on it around town

It's not as frugal as the click on gas but then again I ride it like I stole it but if you didn't do that the gas consumption would be probably fairly similar....

If you weigh 50-60kg maybe there isn't much difference but I'm about 90kg  and it pulls me with or without a passenger up hills way better than a click 125

As mentioned, great for those dangerous situations like making a uturn when you need a blast of acceleration to get to safety....

Worth every penny gentlemen! And I still have  my Nouvo sx I haven't bothered to sell it

    Thanks for clarifying that.

    ;-)

It's as easy to hook cables as the old one but you can no longer loop them through the passenger grab handles because they are integrated into the bodywork on the Aerox

You can still hook them onto the holes in the undercarriage, each side above the rear wheel

Rather than talking about who has more knowledge, why not just stick to the points I made and debate them. I didn't make any point about my knowledge specifically.

You will not develop a good physique from deadlifts. Unfortunately, that can never be proven as no one does deadlifts alone, but even you should know that all the individual body parts that make up a good physique can be better developed other ways, if muscular hypertrophy is the goal. You aren't talking about strength, but your physique.

You most certainly did not develop your "good muscular body" from deadlifts. That's an absurd statement. You do a full program, no just deadlifts. You developed your legs from leg exercises, your upper body from upper body exercises and your abs from ab work. All the powerlifters do squats and upper body exercises, so they can't prove your point either.

Please tell me, other than strength, and perhaps your ego, what did you develop from deadlifts? You've even started doing them lighter these days, so they will have zero muscular hypertrophy benefits as you need to work to near muscular failure to stimulate muscle growth.

"Deadlifts are the king of exercises" is bro-science.

Deadlifts  certainly helped me gain mass and strength and they are renowned as one of the best compound exercises you can do

Squatting with free weights or a barbel is also one of the best exercises you can do if you want to get stronger but maybe too dangerous for the Thai visa are group to do unsupervised

My favourite place close to where I stay when in BKK is on the corner of 7/1 Sukhumvit. Can't remember the name but rates better than banks and if I take the time to get ny money all in $100 notes I get a better rate than other denominations. I know, it doesn't make sense but that's the way it is

    It does make sense

Nobody wants to carry a brick of $5 notes

High denominations are more sought after and hence, more valuable

becoming more and more normal nowadays. anyone staying here using a lot of tourist visas/visa exempt entries should be on high alert and be prepared with a backup plan. dont accumulate a bunch of stuff in your condo/apartment, you may never see it again.

Hard to live comfortably with no "stuff"..... But even the ones who think their visa status is safe (like myself)  might not always  be that way

Owing a lot of assets in thailand is like building castles on sand

Nobody knows what flipflopping will happen and the xenophobic rules on foreigners seem to get worse every year
