Don't believe gender really enters into
the picture, cheap is cheap and not
admired by any normal person.

Easy peasy. You can move to Bridlington, North Yorkshire, the cost of living would be cheaper plus the ocean waters are much much cleaner. Would sur like me to book his ticket?
I believe you missed the warm weather aspect...I,wouldn't live
in Birdington or North Yorkshire for FREE

Its all about the inexpensive cost of living.
if there was another place, cleaner than Thailand, with
cleaner ocean water and the same cost of living and
warm weather I would leave tomorrow.

Two tickets a month for fun. One before the 1st

White vinegar...buy the cheapest at Makro, pour all around
where ants are. Will not effect pets or people. Ants will be gone.
I keep a spray bottle full of vinegar, a spray around patio and dog
dish area. No more ants. I spray on door sills too. If you hate the
smell add a few drops of mint oil

On their information system now, same

If you are able to pay 1000baht for two hours of
domestic help, she probably thought 170 or 400
baht means nothing to you, yet it is a significant
amount to her. Stealing is stealing, and I too
would have discharged her on the spot; however,
a long time ago I learned never to put that much
temptation in front of people, human nature being
what it is.

I love this.....I walk every morning. I always say hello as I pass other walkers;
especially if thre is eye contact. A couple of the grumpy old farts never
acknowledge, after I have said hello. No acknowledgement I never speak
to them again....plenty of nice people that acknowledge you!

If you can't afford to live in Thailand after
working for 35-40 years, there is something
wrong with your financial planning; "or"1. You
are one to the drunks that drank up everything
and really didn't work that much. "or"2. One of the
lazy, who wanted to retire at 45-49 y/o and now
because th pound is declining (and is expected
to lose another 16-20%) have to pinch every Baht,
(go home a and work another 15-20 years); and
retire with 95-125K Baht/month. Life is Great,
Here in The Land Of Smiles!!

Portable A/C units work very well as long as
You vent the hot air out the window using
The flexible hose provided with the units.
Also on some units you must empty the
Water they collect when used as a de-
humidifier .

Only work in dry climate desert . In this climate
Nothing but more mold and mildew. Unhealthy
To say the least in Thailand

What is life like in Thailand for very old expats?
in General Topics
Posted
Before retiring to Thailand I planned for old age as I
did for retirement. I have a nice income, guaranteed
for life and enough money not to worry. I have some
close Thai friends, who I hope will visit when I am alone
or hire a care giver. Hope to be dead before needing a
caregiver!! I also have a back up plan to assist some
Thai friends, make their life better financially , and they
will make sureI have good care until I die. Time will
tell, as for now I don't dwell on what might happen, I
enjoy every day. No living realatives in my Home
Country, some friends, but I feel more at home in Thailand.
