I just got off the phone with the United States embassy. I will be able to board my flight home but my passport will be stamped basically undesireable, not allowed to enter the kingdom again until fine has been paid.
This all makes sense, its not like an overstayer committed a crime against thai humanity.
No room 7 for me !!!!!

You just proof that you are a TROLL!!

The USA embassy don't have anything to do with the Thai immigration.

I'm a g7 tourist and about a .5 on the 1-10 scale of illegal immigration in thailand.
I maintain an apartment here and live here 6 months a year.

Well, from the way you handle this problem, what you created, I don't think we will see you in September.

but anyway have a good flight.

    many thanks for clarification.

so, basically, one could stay in Thailand on visa exempt stamps and 30 days extensions for at least 4 months per year and/or even  for an indefinite time as long as immigration allows to extend each entry for another month. is that correct?

Please read post number 4 by ubonjoe and you have your answer. If you think you can stay in Thailand indefinite on visa exempt stamps, than maby you should start reading the many post on this subject on tv.

    good luck to you.

  5. Have lived here happily for decades. Keep clear of police/bureaucracy/immigration/hospitals/schools but live a "Thai life" I speak Thai.

Went to send an EMS letter to the UK. Passport please. I don't carry a passport only a copy. Not enough!. Only original ! I have copy Thai 5 year driving licence. No. Only Card. I have copy house book. No. Original. What do they think I can put in an A4 envelope? So I throw a hissy fit. Happens I live close to the PO housing compound. Eventually a big cheese who I know appears. No problem. But it is getting stupid. There will be people ironing glycophosphates onto postcards soon.

You live here for decades, but you stay clear of immigration?

Man, you have a big overstay!

  6. I've extended my "retirement " O visa at the local immigration office in Nathon, Koh Samui, 3 times in the last 3 years already. 1900 baht. Plus extra fee for single or multiple re-entry permits. No need to leave the country, but you need to report every 90 days. Simple, fast and efficient. The staff recognize me already, and I joke around with them in Thai.

Assuming you are retired, over 50 years old, have pension or other income or meet savings requirements (800,000 baht), all you need to show the immigration officer is a letter from your bank and your updated bank statement that proves your income/savings, along with your passport that has the O visa from the embassy. Be polite and dress appropriately for a visit to a government office.

I am not familiar with other categories of non-resident O visas.

This is off topic and has nothing to do with the question from the OP.

Please read the responce from Ubanjoe.

Now, go have a other beer and be queit!

  7. If you get so wind up about a Big C card, than I hope you have spare batteries for your pacemaker.

Needless to say that your girlfriend is a keeper.

Please do you self a favour and enjoy life.

    Have a nice day

  8. You know what they say ? Don't believe everything u read.

If u want to solve your problem by paying a little cash it can be remedied by using one of the most influential visa run people in Bangkok.

I know I just had a 3 year overstay and he took care of it for me and it was not big deal. Without me posting all the specifics I will just say

call him at his office ...the guy has done all my passport and visa crap for the past 8 years and he is very reliable and u can feel comfortable

dealing with him. Just tell him the guy "Rick" with the 3 year overstay recommended you and he will probably tell u to come to his office so he can

see your passport and tell u the cost and details. His number is : <contact by PM>

As far as people on here that like to talk stupid.....I wouldn't bother to even answer them. Why u overstayed is none of their business.

    Man, this is good advice!

You pay somebody, who you say is realy good, and you use him for the last 8 years! And in this time you had a overstay for 3 years?

So please, stop posting your BS!

  9. I thought a Farlang wanting to marry a Thai in Thailand requires a sworn affidavit from the Farlang`s embassy. That means the embassy has a duty to inform Thai immigration of an overstay or refuse to do the affidavit until the overstay is sorted.

Thailand is coming down hard on overstayers now, they`ll probably ban him from the country for life, after a big fine or a prison sentence. It scares me even thinking about it.

    Well, stop thinking please.

    As a other member on this form already said;

This is between the person and his embassy and has nothing to do with the Thai Immigration officce.

Please, don't talk BS on this subject.

There are a lot of people that are facing the deportation ban if they don't clear up there problems before March 20.

There is no need to scare them more with stuff that is not to the point.

  10. Give the guy some time ... in certain parts of the world, like my corner of the sandpit, the weekend is Friday/Saturday ... its almost 7am here just now. I would guess it'll be another 8 -10 hours before he posts, after he gets home from work tonight ...

    Sent by carrier pigeon

Thanks for that. You are right about the weekend. There is also time difference. I was unable to get to work today due to illness/anxiety. I must go in tomorrow, get my passport and will use my laptop camera to take a photo of the stamp and post it. THERE WILL BE AN IMAGE OF THE STAMP ON THIS SIGHT BY 9PM THAI TIME, MONDAY 18TH. I ASK FOR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING UNTIL TOMORROW EVENING, PLEASE.

Mr Peter, no need to shout on this form. You are the one that is saying you post the. Stamp on Sunday.

The reason people on this form are reacting the way they do, is because they want to HELP you!!!

    So please help your self!

    Have a good night!

  11. I know that there is a minimum wage in Thailand. But when it was introduced it was not in all provinces and it did't work for the people that worked on a farm.

I spend some time on Google and cann't find the details on this law.

That will be my mistake, I think, because I cann't read Thai.

So just a question to the members on this form.

Is the minimum wage for all provinces in Thailand?

What occupation doesn't fall under minimum wage?

If somebody has a link, in English if possible, about this law, please post it.

Thanks to everybody, and please have a happy new year.
