  1. Might be worth checking if this is a scam or someone's mistaken. There was a senior PEA official on the Thai news (workpoint 23 i recall) yesterday apologising for not notifying they had changed the format and colours of their bills.
  2. Overnight parking available. As you enter theres a free non secure carpark on your right with a 150 metre walk along the road to the terminal. Across from the terminal is a secure 150 baht a day carpark which I regularly use for 3 or 4 day stays.
  3. Do a search for Pea electricity tariff and it will show you all their tariffs. Here's a screenshot on the 1st page
  4. The law you refer to no longer exists. It was changed maybe 20 years ago. Thais married to foreigners are free to buy land.
  5. No problems owning house and land when married to foreigners nowaday. That rule went out the window many years ago.
  6. Found my old tickets. Both were listed as A350-900 but had different seating configurations.
  7. Did Singapore to Brisbane on Singapore airlines business class this time last year. Different aircraft on the legs. To Brisbane was large seating/bed. The return to Singapore was smaller angled bed not as comfortable.
  8. Are you sure? I know a Chiangmai uni accepted the body of a Thai friends 70+ yo father for medical research a few months ago.
  9. Watching YouTube scambaiter vids I often see a lot of the mostly Indian based scammers using Thai bank accounts to receive scammed funds.
  10. I'm married to a public servant and receive free healthcare under the close family scheme. I can receive govt hospital treatment with referrals to private hospitals for MRI's etc if required. For more serious problems like cancer I'll receive standard treatment but it's worth me using private cover for better treatment. However it depends on what scheme the public servant is in. I'm told as part of cost cutting measures newer staff dont receive the same family privileges.
  11. Was there on the 29 July. Me 400 baht Mrs 40 baht Car 30 baht.
  12. Father in law just replaced his batteries after 3 and a bit years on a similar type bike bought from Big C. Batteries had swollen during charge and one cracked open 4 sealed lead acid batteries cost him just over 4k baht.
  13. My lawyer took the court order and collected my divorce certificate The signature areas say court order in lieu She only found out it was finalised a year later when she contacted me asking to finalise the divorce. Her lawyer had neglected to tell her.
  14. I have 2 gathering dust. 1 Chinese and the other a popular western brand. I jokingly refer to them as 7-11 detectors nowadays. They detect anywhere with motion detection doors or gates. Also detect newer cars that use radar for cruise control and truck trailer proximity devices. I found a much better option is a free phone App like radarbot (although it costs if you plug it into your car audio). Free on your phone it provides fairly accurate warnings relying on users to notify permanent or temp speed/red light camera locations.
  15. Must be a Brit crime boss requirement. Saw a report recently of the arrest of a brit 1 legged call centre gang boss being arrested in Malaysia. He was known as pegman.
  16. I'm reliably informed this can happen in govt hospitals. It can take time for Bangkok to process initial wages. Some hospitals advance staff wages from hospital funds until the official pay arrives.
  17. Depends what you buy. We spend around 6+ k baht a week in makro mostly on drinks and snacks. Occasionally an item we purchase has a gift which shows up on the receipt. We collect from the "tam" counter outside the checkouts. Normally something smallish a bottle of M150 but have received cooler boxes and a grab delivery type bag in the past.
  18. Maybe a misunderstanding. My upcountry immigration office requires an official request from a govt department or embassy to issue residence certs. They told me to see land transport and get a residence cert request from them. I took the request back to immigration and they printed off the free residence cert while I waited.
  19. I opened an scb easy account at my local branch a year ago a few weeks after I arrived on a multi NON O married visa. My wife and I attended, filled in multiple forms stating I wasn't American and declined insurance. left an hour later with atm card and scb app on my phone.
  20. I know of a farang husband, Thai wife couple who tested positive with mild symptoms in a nearby province recently. Wife contacted the covid line and were assessed over the phone by the Govt hospital Dr to home isolate. Wife received free medication while husband required to pay 2,250 Baht, with official receipt, for his Favipuravir. Care package with medications delivered to their door by the local covid team.
  21. Try koratchef. A small shop with western food. Sausages, pies, Western packaged food.
  22. Was talking to someone involved in veterinary research last weekend and he mentioned they're currently looking at including the seeds in bird feed.
  23. I know someone in the health dept heavily involved in licencing and inspecting farms. Theres a huge push from above to promote its use. I suggest you contact your local MOPH office for guidance. From what I've heard in conversations its not a simple matter of planting some. Soils and product are sampled and have to pass regular tests for various unwanted minerals, chemicals etc. Regular farm inspections are carried out by Moph teams.
  24. Recently had the local team visit with tape measures in hand. I drew the line when one woman entered the premises trying to measure English signs inside. When challenged she said she can tax them. She backed down when shown para 8.5 of the Thai version of the attached file. 810238_0001(1).pdf
