Maybe for a International hospital they should be employing Russian staff I see plenty of Russians going there when I have had to use the hospital,
Most, if not all, private Phuket hospitals employ Russian coordinators on staff.
"International Medical Care: “We speak your language”
Bangkok Hospital Phuket employs a team of multilingual coordinators who are always ready to assist guests to overcome any language barriers. The hospital also liaises and coordinates with leading insurance & assistance companies worldwide to facilitate the insured with direct billing agreements. Over a dozen worldwide languages are spoken at Bangkok Hospital Phuket, which ensures patients can feel at ease in any language. Multilingual Coordinators speak English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian, Danish, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, and Tagalog."
Obviously, Government hospitals don't have the budget for such staff.

She is trying to blame an Australian man which is ludicrous, Australian men simply don't behave in this manner, now if it was Russian that would be a different story.
Australians can be criminals just as can any other nationality. Look at the bikie gangs and their activities around Pattaya as an example.
In this case the Australian is the father of the potential child victim.
Save your sarcasm for somewhere more appropriate.
I'm an Australian who doesn't think all who come from my country are snow white, as the English do.

It's a bit like the stock photo used in the OP. I very much doubt the models are British. They don't appear to fit the style of young people from there.
The same group have been pictured many times in pics on Shutterstock and that company and the photographer are American.

oh wow, so a French woman, Lebanese guy and an Australian are going to go through a he said/she said with the Thai police over kidnapping a kid from a prominent Thai woman... this is gonna get interesting, who has the most cash wins I guess
The Australian is married to the prominent Thai woman and is the father of the child.
It's a little more clear cut than a she said/he said situation.
The French woman entered the country illegally and had been changing hotels daily. Strange behavior for a genuine visitor.
Despite her denials, Pol. Maj. Gen. Theeradet expressed scepticism over Diersten’s claims, stating the police had gathered ample evidence against her.
Reading the flowery language describing her companies, and the dodgy over qualifications of the senior staff, would have me, and my money, avoiding them like the plague.

I have a year's reserve here, thanks to the new tax proposals.
Property to be sold could stretch things out for years.

So, you're living (voluntarily?) in a country that you find too hot for your comfort, you find chlorinated swimming pool temperatures not to your liking, and are even afraid to venture onto the roads,
You decided to start a thread on a local expat forum to whinge about the aforementioned and reacted with anger because you got the inevitable advice to leave for somewhere you'll find more suitable. If you were looking for platitudes and God blessed wishes you should become an American YouTuber, not seek it on AseanThaiger.

My marriage extension date is looming again forcing me to visit the worse part of scenic Chiang Khan. The IO.
Checking their somewhat chaotic website it appears they MAY have moved offices, but as usual, information is unclear.
I would ring, but they're closed today and rarely helpful anyway.
Can any residents in the province advise if this is so, or is the old rundown premises on the river road still the place to go?
Also, does anyone use the on-line appointment system with them. I tried a couple of years ago, but they had no clue what I was talking about when I fronted.
Thankyou.

I know which piece of trash I would deport first.
A clue - it wouldn't/couldn't be the victim who will be in hospital for a long time with grievous injuries.
It wouldn't be the crazed attacker who must face Thai justice and should be incarcerated here for a long time before deportation.
Which piece of trash, named in the quoted post, could I be thinking of?

Phuket, again. Foreigner, again. There really must be something in the air down there. There's been so many reports of foreigners going bonkers on Phuket!
Do you think the seemingly high crime rate on this small island could be related to the fact that Phuket gets millions more international visitors than the entire population of your country of NZ?
Of course, there are other factors, such as the sometimes-hysterical reporting of relatively minor incidents, and the open-door policies for people fleeing wars started by despots in their country.

As part of my former job, I've had some training in human phycology, but you don't need qualifications to know that the assessment in the OP is spot on.
To me the real sickos, and I started voicing this opinion in 2015, are the senior members of his political party who catered to him in the pursuit of personal wealth and power. This, despite some also having personal bias against the man. They have only become more rabid and conniving as they've discovered their form of conservative government is unpopular with much of the younger generation of voters. Their hypocrisy and willingness to lie, cheat and site their gods to achieve this power is disgusting.
I don't really blame the massively stupid, costumed morons who turn up for the rallies. While their lack of even a basic form of intelligence can be amusing, they are a product of their leader's policies of keeping them ignorant and unable to form opinions of their own.
I don't think Biden should be running again either for different reasons. He was there for a specific purpose in 2020, but now is too old for another term. He seems selfless and genuinely working for the country, and has improved almost every aspect of the economy, despite the Right's conspiracies against him.
There is a low age qualification for Presidents. I think there should also be an upper limit, perhaps 70. This should also apply to the Judicial and House reps.

Unfortunately, huge numbers of visitors result in associated increases in criminal activity.
Phuket is one of the most attractive world destinations for tourism despite the opinions of a few disillusioned expats with a grudge.
For those proposing selling, sinking or sectioning off the Island, have you considered the impact on Thailand's economy?"Before the Covid-19 pandemic in 2019, Phuket had welcomed 14.5 million foreign tourists, generating revenue of 422 billion baht, ranking second after Bangkok. The province's gross domestic product was 251 billion baht"

Take me out back and put me out of my misery if I ever get petty enough to rat someone out just for being on overstay or a WP violation. Even for $30 USD.
That doesn't apply to axe wielding crazies.
People dob in others for many reasons.
Stealing girlfriends, stealing money, stealing jobs, stealing food out of the fridge, refusing to do their share of cleaning the house, personal hygiene, attacking neighbors with an axe, having an obnoxious personality, boasting at the pub about how clever they are, etc., etc.
To stay off the radar you have to maintain a very low profile and be cleverer than most.

Australian "soccer" captains shouldn't racially abuse policemen.
Agreed, no drunken idiot should abuse anyone. However, in the real world, not your fantasy one, it happens all the time. The English have a reputation as a world leader for such behavior. The police, whose job is to restore the peace often wear the brunt of this abuse. They have to desensitize their personal feelings to be able to effectively do that job.
18 hours ago, JonnyF said:We have standards in the UK. This isn't some outback watering hole where people denigrate Aboriginals.
Now who's the racist!
For information, the Kerr family have Anglo-Indian and Philipine roots.

Australia is ranked 12th (of about 190) in the current FIFA rankings. They are ahead of many European countries, and Scotland, about which this thread originated. They finished 4th in the latest World Cup and have beaten England in the past.
Admittedly, the money there isn't great, which is why Kerr is an in-demand international player who has been nominated for the World Player of the Year award. Chelsea extended her current contract which is an indication of how they view her value.
Trying to denigrate her playing career when the discussion is about hate crime issues is fairly pathetic.
The Australian cricket captain is probably crying because his actions had him kicked out of the game for a year when an English captain (Atherton) received a slap on the wrist for the same offence.
Whatever the result of the charge against her I think the copper may be wondering in a few years why he is always overlooked for promotion.
Anyway, done with it now, you're just being argumentative for the sake of it, and have exposed your hypocrisy on the subject.

for long stay visas
I had to supply a Federal Police clearance for my O-A (At high cost).
However, I believe most of the criminal element coming into Thailand currently are entering visa exempt with stays of up to 90 days.
Insisting on police clearances for all tourists would not be practical IMO.

and what about offences that have reached their disclosure expiry date, In the UK for example most are not disclosed after 5 years, even relatively serious convictions are gone after 10 only the most heinous crimes are exempt from this people convicted of those cimes are normally in prison serving long sentences. None of the above will have any effect on those who have offended all their lives and been lucky or clever enough to avoid capture.
Those calling for criminal checks are just virtue signalling along with those advocating deportation , blacklisting, and lengthy prison sentences for the most trivial misdemeanors, lets have a logical sense of proportion for gods sake
You did realize my post was sarcasm?
The concept is pie in the sky thinking and could never be practically introduced.

I don't think objecting to being racially abused while at work is being "precious".
I suspect if the role was reversed and the cop had racially abused the drunken, vommiting Sam Kerr she wouldn't have simply brushed it off either.
I say press charges, it might teach the priviliged, entitled, racist brat some manners.
Well trained, professional law Enforcment officers don't racially abuse clients.
So now you're reverting to attacking the drunk. I'm not defending her; she should be charged with any drunken offences regarding her behavior on the night short of bringing serious hate crime charges to because she called a policeman white!
As usual you're completely ignoring any practicalities, or reasonable disagreement, and advocating for police to dissect drunken language in order to upgrade charges against any idiot they interact with! Let's hope the police don't mishear or misreport comments made in the heat of the moment. Your little country will have to build more jails. You can't export your prisoners to us anymore.
And if you next call is for deportation, I think Chelsea needs her more than the other way around.

a criminal record check prior to arrival would stop a lot of these people
Every country should demand that.
It would kill off most of the massive world tourism industry very quickly.
What would be the parameters for travelling, a completely clean record, would a childhood error decades earlier rule you out, what about a fine in the courts even for a minor matter?
Who would adjudicate, the airline check-in clerk or would everyone have to apply for a visa and be vetted at the embassy? That would kill visa free travel.
What if the onus was on the pax to produce his own crim record, would anyone commit document fraud?
Some might consider it couldn't even be slightly practical to expect this sort of vetting of the 1.3 billion international tourists worldwide each year.

Of course it exists, the difference is that you are saying racially abusing a cop is normal/acceptable and I am saying it is not.
I never said it was acceptable. My stance was that people in law enforcement shouldn't get precious about insults when on the job, because their clientele don't always abide by correct society standards with language.
My words were - "It is normal in some jobs (i.e. common)"
You chose to ignore that clarification, continued with your argumentative assertions, and threw in a childish insult.
