  1. The real cause is the Balfour Declaration and how England cheated the Palestinians. England received the mandate to prepare the Arab population of Palestine for independence. England had promised them their own land if Palestinians would actively support England during WW 2.
  2. I gave him some credit. Because many poor people consider him to be a good man: fighting against drugs, offering some social welfare (hospital care). But this visit is really disgusting. Cambodia is still ruled by the red Khmer. First they stole, killed intellectuals (even wearing glasses was a sign), starved millions, killing fields all over the place, traded their rice for weapons from friend China. And now the same "communists" living in big mansions and driving huge cars. They should be trialed and shot. While the normal Cambodians keep quiet because they do not want fighting again. Such a shame. Unfortunately many countries look the other way.
  3. Deputy National Police Chief Pol Gen Surachate Hakparn stated that the gang members tend to favor Thailand due to the lack of strict law enforcement and corrupt officials. So I would like to suggest him: start there and first clean up your own house. And the agents who offer "special services", working together with Immigration officials. At the same time you can do a background check on motorbike gang members. Check your computer systems at Thai entrance ports if there is a hit between passport and (inter)national search warrants. I think that almost all retirees are law abiding persons, who just want to enjoy their retirement. They do not ride noisy Harleys and dont show off their leather jackets. They do not chainsaw persons and put them in plastic bags. (by the way, RTP did a great job to find body and suspects so quickly). All foreign retirees spend money here. Many of them even support complete families, including father, mother, etc. As a thanksgiving foreign retirees are subject to a dual pricing system; these unequal rights make us feel welcome and appreciated. 800.000 (400.00) THB in a Thai bank is a considerable amount and poses a risk when the bank account is in a country that has proven to be unstable for decades. Thailand: don't push your luck, "don't throw the baby out with the bathwater".
  4. When the fox is talking about peace, then the farmer should watch over his chicken. Look at Tibet, Hong Kong, Taiwan. The constant international pressure and tricks, used by China. Is that not enough to convince people that they should really be more than careful and prepare for a global future that does not look bright at all.
  5. To introduce these fees because other countries do the same is not a reason. When other people jump from a bridge, I will not do the same. If they would use the entry fee for travel/health insurance during the stay in Thailand, then I could understand it, because too many times we see foreigners in Thai hospitals while begging for money on the internet. Departure fee: feels like having shopped in a mall, spent money everywhere and upon exiting the guard demands money before you are allowed to go out into the street; and if you do not pay you even go to jail!! They shoot a fly with a canon. Instead of a departure fee, people should be thanked for having injected money in Thai economy; give them a nice jasmin garland instead of grabbing money out of the guests pocket. Does not feel very welcome. Thailand needs tourism. These fees are not really helping to get a nice experience. My girl friend is from Laos, she has to go out of Thailand to extend her visa regularly We also travel to Laos several times a year. This means additional costs again.
  6. Health insurance seemed insufficient. It is all a matter of choice.: you pay peanuts, you get monkeys. Maybe go back to the UK and enjoy free health care? Anyway: feeling sorry for him, so speedy recovery!
  7. Good to have friends who care and warn the public. Hoping that the man will return in good shape.
  8. 2 different things: - the scheme can work out well for some persons; they might be more careful; - you are absolutely right: driving lessons in a car park is a joke; nice for a start to get used to a car, after that they need hours of practice on real roads with a good driving instructor in a car with dual controls.
  9. It is so easy to condemn the woman. But the poor man should not have been there without any safety measures at that time when it happened. This was asking for problems. The lady came around the corner, maybe looking at the sides for possible obstructions, one second not looking right in front of her, the man not visible because he was working from a very low position and possibly the hood was already blocking the view. He should not have been there. Blame him and the lack of safety measures!
  10. Maybe better to speak for yourself only. Not for me! These types deserve: pay for damage, fine for vandalism, deportation and place on the blacklist. We can miss them. And if you are of the same sort, then please get out together with your friends. Thank you.
  11. .............and a war criminal. There should be a new kind of Nuremberg trial for him and his Russian mob. Very bad to have blind eyes for their atrocities.
  12. Yeh and prime minister or generals even make more money. IF you would have daughters, you would recommend them to start working in the prostitution industry??
  13. What is your source that most people in this world are neutral or on Putin's side? Putin (not Russia) likes to restore the Soviet Union, restore old borders, be a kind of Catharina The Great. Russia invaded democratic Ukraine. NATO is a defence organization, not aggressive like Putin and his gang (and Putin + gang = not Russia). Zelensky has always welcomed talks with Russia. It is Russia that did not keep promises and used talks to strengthen their military positions (logistics). I am very happy that Ukraine is coming back now, hopefully they can maintain this momentum. Long live Ukraine and world peace.
