Does not feel very welcome. Thailand needs tourism. These fees are not really helping to get a nice experience. My girl friend is from Laos, she has to go out of Thailand to extend her visa regularly We also travel to Laos several times a year. This means additional costs again.

What is your source that most people in this world are neutral or on Putin's side? Putin (not Russia) likes to restore the Soviet Union, restore old borders, be a kind of Catharina The Great. Russia invaded democratic Ukraine. NATO is a defence organization, not aggressive like Putin and his gang (and Putin + gang = not Russia). Zelensky has always welcomed talks with Russia. It is Russia that did not keep promises and used talks to strengthen their military positions (logistics). I am very happy that Ukraine is coming back now, hopefully they can maintain this momentum. I used to have a Non-Immigrant O visa (based on retirement), permission to stay on this visa was extended for many years. This visa expired because I had to stay in Europe longer than expected (Covid pandemic). I returned to Thailand by plane on a 30 days return ticket, which is proof for Immigration that you can return within 30 days, and entered Thailand on visa exemption: automatically 30 days free. Don't wait till the last day, because handling can take some time, so during the first or second week go to Immigration with the right papers and apply for a Non-O visa. This first Non-O visa will be valid for 3 months. After receipt of the first Non-O visa contact airline to change return date on plane ticket, probably better to buy ticket with flexible return date. Before end of first visa validity apply for the second Non-O visa (on basis of retirement), which will be valid for 1 year; this one can be extended at Immigration in Thailand. Good luck.

What? They use the word Service?? The "service" at Immigration Jomtien is not the best one, to put it mildly. Cattle brought to the slaughter house even get a better treatment, visitors to Immigration get the treatment without sedation: long queues in the heath and in the sun, waiting for hours, on hot days not even a fan (only after having asked for it and then the guy has to ask for permission from his chief), old and disabled people not able to sit down, no water. Especially during Covid it was almost a suicide mission to visit this place. Inside a total mess, dangerously crowded, at the reception desk too little time to get all the necessary info, sometimes receiving completely wrong info and when you confront an officer with the different info, then the person shouts at you: I TELL YOU NOW!! As if you are some low rank soldier in the army or a stupid child at school. Oh, how I would have liked to give this person a strong answer or to report this person to his manager. But it will not change anything. It will only worsen your own position, because loss of their own face they can not tolerate. But treating farangs like <deleted> seems to be an accepted standard procedure by several officers. Never getting a bill for paid residence certificate fees, also after specifically asking for it! I am not the only one who does not get a bill. An officer who could give me an easy and special visa treatment if i paid something like 20.000 THB. My girl friend having to extend her visa, one day waiting for hours to submit the application, then having to come back a few days later to get her visa there, waiting from 08 am till 17:30 pm (9,5 very hot hours!!) and at he end of the day being told to come back the next day. As if you are some piece of s..t. In the street people told me that they give this hell-treatment on purpose: they like you to handle everything trough an expensive agent, so they can share the profit together. Maybe not true, but it shows a dangerous situation, people lose trust. I wish Thailand all the best. They can use tourism and long term expats. But how can Thailand attract "the rich and famous" if they treat PAYING CLIENTS like this. It is such a pity. Immigration should / could be the first and best impression of Thailand. Sorry to see, but understandable, that many foreigners have reconsidered or are reconsidering their position here (while many of them having brought in millions of THB).

Like in every country with civilised, empathetic and law-abiding people. The way this is handled here in Thailand shows a lack of respect for fellow human beings. The driver should be prosecuted, get a big fine, lose his license for at least one year and be an assistant in an ambulance at least for 100 hours.

Seems you are the kind of type who likes a lynch party without hearing the background of this case. Fortunately you are not the judge. And dont start to learn for it, because you lack the capability to balance the facts and circumstances. From what I know, this Danish guy was not a fresh type, using and cheating his wife for several years with severe consequences. I know the ladies and the story. Hopefully they now will get a judge, who is really willing to hear the full story and make a balanced and honest decision.

I know the 2 ladies. The Thai lady worked very hard in Denmark for many years, gave birth to 2 children and saved money to buy a house in Thailand; her own house for later when they would retire. The woman took care of her mother in law for many, many years. She did not get a lot of support from her husband.The Danish man started to frequent Thailand for business but also started to have a girl friend over there, sending her big amounts of money. Husband and wife went to Thailand to retire. They also had a house in Denmark, which he sold, but did not share that money with his wife. His wife wanted a divorce because of his affair, but he refused, also told her he had no more money left and wanted half of her house and land in Thailand (for which she had saved many years). He got a visa to stay her for several years. The wife went to court to ask for divorce, but the judge said that a divorce could not be possible. The ladies wondered what might have been the reason for this refusal. The wife left her house, for which she had worked many years, now occupied by her husband. She had to rent a room in another city. The other Thai woman felt responsible for her friend, because she introduced her to this man. I met the man several years ago, sorry to say he was not my kind of type to be friends with. First hear the whole story before you come up with accusations. Based on what I heard, I can understand what happened. Cheating is a universal thing. Not only linked to Thai. And I think that the man made a big mistake, based on what I have heard during several years. I wish everybody in this case strength. And believe me: I still like these ladies very much. I pity them. And hope that the man will recover.

What has Covid to do with this? Do some research before you come up with this nonsense. Putin and his inner circle are very busy for years already trying to bring back the old USSR.
