  1. Now forgive me for being sceptical but two predictions surface here.

    1. The transcripts record keeper is going to be mightily ticked off if they start getting four sets of verification requests each time someone applies for a job in Thailand - some teachers I know, work simultaneously at four or five establishments = 20 requests for transcript verification? (plus the ones from places where they only work for a short time before moving on - it could become 20 requests per year per teacher)

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but it is my understanding that the work permit locks you into a single school, working on the premises of that school. So freelancing, part timing, multiple employers, as well as the common practice of being farmed out to other venues by the primary employer is technically improper and/or illegal.

    Aloha,

    Rex

    You are definitely correct! :o

  2. ...but...it seems to me that I heard that in times gone by there used to be young women dancing with bare breasts as a regular thing at temple festivals.....am I mistaken or has anyone else heard of this?

Its actually quite interesting this is happening because a similar situation is also occuring in Cambodia, a crack down against immoral activities (i.e. wearing a short skirts, adultery, etc..) that our not part of their culture? Funny thing is if these people actually took a look at their cultural history, they would realise it is a part of their culture. I see this as an increasing trend over the world where conservative governments are becoming increasingly more autocratic. :o

Anyway, anyhow..... That is their country--they can impose such rule if they wish to. :D

  3. So you pack a bunch of fertilizer into a can and throw a couple os sticks into the back of your car. But you dont bother assembling the device. Then you drive repeatedly around the house of your target. That target is a very high profile person and there are securtiy guards around his residence. Hmmmm sounds exactly how an expert would conduct a bombing!

Don't blame him, blame the teacher in the Thai school who taught him :D

    :o:D

  4. My condolences to the family and friends of the victim.

Well, for 6 years I am working in Bangkok, I never had a bad times as posted in here. I got few farang friends and the rest, most of them are locals but they are so friendly. I just wonder why too many westerner facing this trouble. The best thing to do here "be COOL" hear their opinion and smile..:o

  5. I was wondering if there are rules and regulations regarding Hookers in Thailand? Do they have to be screened for diseases. etc. I mean if they are part of a brothel. How about stealing from their Johns. Can they be arrested or anything for that, or just too bad for the John?

I was asking because I heard a story about a handicapped man who hired a hooker and she stole all his money. Just walked out. Nothing the man could do about it. Is there any recourse he can take?

    :D:o:D

  6. Yes.. Thats true, because the local shop doesn't have the authority to cancel it... you have to go to the Network Service Provider center (AIS, DTAC' Orange..etc..) and file for discontinue the service.

Sriracha? it seems you are a bit in trouble if you are outside Bangkok, cause you really have to go to the big branch of Network Service Provider center (AIS, DTAC' Orange..etc..). Try Telewis Shop, maybe they can help you. good luck.

  7. I don't think you need a "work permit" because you are doing the job for your own property unless you are doing such job with someone else which you've got paid. in other word someone hired you to do such job.

I my self, doing repair in my apartment, my washing machine, my bikes, painting fences, electrical wiring extension.. ect..ect... but I don't have a "work permit" to such job...
